2005 Dodge Magnum Wagon SE Rwd 4dr Wagon (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Yeah it's not a Hemi, but my Magnum has plenty of performance. It handles as if it was a sports car. And I've never owned a new car that commanded ongoing accolades. Magnum is the benchmark auto for station wagons and four door sedans for this decade. I'm 6 feet tall and our friends in the rear seat are not sitting with their knees higher than their head. This is the crossover car of the year
Performance, handling, and styling.
A pull strap on the tailgate and put the cruise control back on the steering wheel
Simply put, it has been the perfect car. Incredibly fast and smooth, very comfortable, plus loads of utility. Had an '03 Explorer before and sold it to a family member. Recently drove it again and couldn't believe the difference between it and my Magnum. The Dodge's handling and ride are incredible and you feel so much more in command when driving it. Now I'm spoiled for life! People seeing it think that because it sits lower and the windows are narrower, there's not much space inside, but the interior is incredibly roomy and comfortable, and you can easily seat three in the back. This car has made station wagons cool again!
Being faster than 95% of other cars on the road. NAV and stereo system. Positive responses from everyone who sees it, ranging from neighbor boy to seniors who have stopped me at the mall to admire it.
Am 99% satisfied, but Dodge must have cornered the world market on cheap gray plastic for the interior, and it scuffs very easily. It needs to be upgraded to make this a world-class car. Power doorlock switch is easily confused with window lock -- needs differentiation.
Wow ! I never thought I would see station wagons come back, and certainly not like this. The styling, the handling, the power; all amazing. I got the SXT with AWD and it really handles so wonderfully, you'd think you were driving the Daimler car that they took the 3.5L engine out of - the ride, the feel, the overall quality of this Dodge is more than the sum of its parts.
Style; the outside and inside fit and finish really turn heads and really look sharp and at night the guages inside really look cool, heated steats, Free Sirius ! You name it - there isn't a bad feature.
I would have appreciated the option to have the audio controls on the steering wheel (only available to the RT model).
This is a great vehicle for the 30 - 40 something guy with a family. Gives you all the performance, luxury, and utility a family man could want. It's definitely a good compromise between performance and luxury. BTW... this is probably not a good daily commuter car since you'll never get the MPG Dodge advertises. Plus you have to buy medium grade fuel (89 or better). All that said, I like the car a lot. It's the best thing on the market now and for 2006.
Hemi. Roominess. Profile. Tinted windows. Nominally quiet driving. 6 cd changer with MP3... say goodbye to your iPod!
Seats are a little too flat and hard. Could use more plushness. Steering is a bit too stiff at low speed turning. Poor MPG for "displacement" engine. Not as good as advertised. Lack of manual tranny bites. Windshield wiper controls should be seperate from turn signal. Cruise control is awkward.
