2023 Dodge Hornet Consumer Reviews

An Enthusiasts CUV Through and Through.
My Hornet has been exactly what I expected. I needed a small-ish CUV with ground clearance, AWD, decent fuel economy, and get up and go. This was the only SUV that fit the bill and had soul. This isn’t a CUV like a RAV4 or CRV; it’s not a function over form nor is it engineered to outlive us all. It’s built in the same vein as other Dodge products, it’s powerful, moderately economical (28 average for me), handles well, and is a little on the pricier side to maintain (tires and brakes are a bit spicy). This is the CUV for the person who needs room to carry a few boxes and wants to enjoy their commute. This vehicle puts enjoyment and features ahead of utility and pragmatism. Is it the most sensible choice for everyone? No. But is a charger or a challenger? Absolutely not. You buy it because it has a soul and makes you smile. It may not be a perfect CUV with its limited rear seat space and less than great economy but it is the perfect CUV for me.

2023 Hornet GT Plus with tech and Track pack
1000 miles. This thing is really quick and fairly nimble. It’s front wheel drive biased and you can tell. The 9 speed transmission is pretty good, smooth shifts during hard and light acceleration. We have the Brembo brakes, which I highly recommend. I’m 6ft 210 so it’s a little cramped for me but the seats hold you place. There is very little storage in the front. The wireless phone charge is in a poor position and has difficulty fitting larger phones. The safety sense camera is not great. Doesn’t work driving into the Sun at dusk or with dew on the windshield in the morning or if there is a little dirt on the windshield. So keep your windshield clean. The infotainment can be a bit laggy at times, but overall I like it. I could go on and on with likes and dislikes. If you want a nice same old same old SUV get a Honda or Toyota and you can enjoy a boring commute on a daily basis. Or get one of these, it is like driving a go cart with 270HP, it is seriously fun. The only other SUV that comes close in fun factor is the CX5 turbo. Get it with track pack and avoid the tech pack on this vehicle. My wife is the primary driver and she loves this thing.

The hornet freezes over
Well, I'm a trucker therefore anything less comfortable then my rig was avoided until...you guessed it, my wife purchased the GT 2023 hornet. What a blast. So much fun. Take a test drive and take it on the highway first and enjoy the ride.
