2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I bought my first in '86, second in '90, 3rd in '96, this one in 2001. Traded last one in w/112K on it, transmission starting to slip. This one is a Sport FWD model. Has 60000K on it, 98% are highway miles. Front end is "shot".....needs new struts and ball joints. You should hear and feel the thing ride. It's horrible and obvious to anyone. Dealer refuses to even acknowledge this.My own mechanic (who is known in town as GOOD and trustworthy!) gave me the bad news. That's it.....I am going out to buy Japanese...Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. They lost a loyal customer - who isn't stupid.

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan ES Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 4A)

Review

We purchased all available options.
In hindsight, I'd have skipped the
additional cost of the auto stick.
The gears shift automatically even
when using the auto stick which
negates the usefulness of the
feature. The tow capacity is more
than enough to tow mulch trailers and
all U-Haul trailers with ease. The
automatic door openers are useful with
a young family, but we've already had
to repair the door motors not under
warranty (expensive). Overall -
good personal space - smooth ride -
good utility

Best Features

Second (two buckets) and third row (split bench) seats are removable - unlimited cargo and passenger options. Goes from passenger to utility vehicle quickly.

Worst Features

Options that I would have like on this vehcile - two driver seat memory and back up sensors

Review

We Wont make this mistake again! The AC
compresser went out 100 miles after
warrenty, but it was extened. WE still
trying to get our money back. but
dodge wont
pay.many problems with extended
warrenty they did not transfer it from
orginal owner, yet somehow this is our
fault.horriable customer service
the automatic window motors went on
both doors the ignition had to replace
the auto door in back doesnt work and
numerous electrical problems (been in
at least 4 times for repair)that have
never been repaired. Cheep parts.NOT
worth the money or your time

Best Features

space for the kids...dual temp controls are nice..wonderful sound system and speakers

Worst Features

put some money into the parts, and provide better customer service,

Review

We needed a trasmission overhaul at
21000 miles. Unfortunately the 36
month timeclock had expired and we were
stuck with the entire bill. Use caution
when considering this vehicle.

Best Features

The drivers side rear door is great for loading passengers or gear.
