The Last of Real V-8s
By bc_iii on

2001 Dodge Durango Sport 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 4A)

This is a real SUV, not a "High Wagon"
or "car based" unibody pretender. It
has a real metal truck frame, a 5.9
Liter 360 cubic inch V8 not a 4.x or 3.x
Liter. (Those CIDs belong in V6s for you
youngsters that don't know any better.)
The Durango rides smoothly, but let's
you know if you hit a bump. It sucks
down the gas like it's goin out of
style. A perfect American SUV to drive
out in CA or NY just to tick off the
tree huggers. The Infinity sound system
needed no aftermarket upgrades, and the
fit and finish of the vehicle (built in
NJ) was comprable to the imports.

Best Features

The on the fly 4WD, the powerful 360 V8 and the awesome paint work. Also added a brush guard that adds to the overall style.

Worst Features

mp3 compatible cd changer would be cool, and a GPS in dash or heads up display would add to the refinement.
