Great Costumer Care & Service

by snormington32 on 02/22/2016

The Fred Beans sales team made me feel safe and comfortable when I was making my new car purchase decision. They were also helpful in finding me a vehicle that catered to my life style. However what impressed me the most is that they didn't push costly additional features down my throat and simply pointed out additional benefits letting me make my own decisions. Fred Beans VW dealership was highly professional and helpful. I would strongly recommend them!.

Car Buying Made Easy

by SurferDude1976 on 02/22/2016

This dealership made my shopping process so easy. I bought a pre-owned TDI wagon and they got me a great deal, not once did I feel pressured to buy. Oh they also play really good music to make the experience pleasant.

Poor service

by ByeFred on 02/04/2016

I've been taking my VW Passat to Fred Beans for servicing for several years. While their staff is friendly and professional looking that's where appearances are deceiving. The impression I've received is that they truly don't care about their customers - they're only trained to give that impression. I usually schedule my appointments online and each time I do I specify that I'll wait at the dealership while my car is being serviced. I tell them again when I check-in and they also stamp it on my work order that I'm waiting at the dealership. So why then, every time I take my car in for servicing, do they never bother to tell me when work on my car is finished? I'm usually no more than 100 feet from the cashier yet she makes no effort whatsoever to find me. They even have an intercom system that they don't use to notify clients that their cars are ready. When I ask them about this the cashier states in a flippant manner "Nobody told me you were waiting." Unbelievable! I suspect this is only the tip of the iceberg and reflects their entire service departments attitude towards their customers. To top it off, I just had my annual inspection done and recall work done on the steering wheel. That was it and yet when I began to leave the dealership my brakes were grinding. I only had the annual inspection done and yet they returned my car to me in worse shape than when I took it in!

Consistantly Undervalued Trade-ins

by Stubenville on 07/01/2015

This dealer is only two miles away, and I bought two cars from them in the past. No more; they consistently low-balled my trade-ins and played waiting games. I ended up buying my latest car from a VW dealer fifteen minutes away who gave me the list value of my trade without hesitation, not the 50% Fred Beans was insisting it was really worth.

Never do business here. Flat out [non-permissible content removed]

by box2424 on 04/08/2015

I turned in my lease here and they agreed to PURCHASE my vehicle and relieve me of the remainder of the lease payments and any turn in fees. 9 months later after I returned from being out of the country I found that they had simply taken the car back as a lease turn in and didn't payoff VW credit like they agreed to. Of course the manager that I spoke with at the time is no longer working there. I spoke about the situation with the current sales manager when I came to realize what had happened, and neither him or a representative from the Fred Beans Group would right the situation. I should have kept paperwork for sure. However, the bottom line is that these guys agreed to a purchase and then turned the car in as a lease turn in because they realized they weren't going to make any money on it turning around and selling it. I would never walk into this place again.

Great car-leasing experience!

by zejudge on 04/27/2014

At Fred Beans VW, my wife and I had our smoothest and most pleasant car-buying (well, leasing in this instance) experience to date. Anthony and Joe were helpful, not pushy, and a joy to deal with. It was our first leasing, so the jargon can be quite confusing. Fortunately, Anthony and Joe were very transparent and forthcoming with the terminology and the numbers, so we knew exactly what we were in for. Chris, the business manager, made the paper-signing process a breeze and patiently answered all our last-minute questions. In conclusion, we highly recommend this dealership!

Best first car buying experience

by deltat1 on 12/09/2013

This was our first time buying a new car, and Fred Beans VW made it so easy. We worked with their Internet sales department which was very responsive to our emails and they directly answered all our questions without pressuring us to come into the dealership to find out more. When we went in to pick up our car it was a no pressure environment. They were well organized and everyone we met was pleasant and friendly. Anthony Law, our sales rep, was so down to earth and pleasant to work with and Joseph L, the sales manager, walked us through all the paper work, taking the time to clearly explain everything. We would definitely recommend this dealership to others and would gladly come back in the future.

Lesson Learned - Incompentant & Clueless

by ragtym on 01/28/2013

Did not purchase my 2008 EOS at this dealership, but had a certified pre-own VW warranty at time of the (out of state) purchase. Every time I took my car in for servicing and/or warranty work at Fred Beans it had come back with a problem. Latest issue - leak in the passenger side roof which had left the carpets wet and now smelly. I was told the drains were clogged and the cost would be $300 or more to clean, and if any were broken, upwards of $800 to repair. Furthermore, they told me it was a maintenance item stated in the owner’s manual, so this would not be covered under warranty. Nowhere in my owner’s manual does it state anything about cleaning the drains (confirmed by Regional VW Rep)!!! The carpet would be $450 to clean or $1200 to replace. I opted not to give in to the repairs. I took the car home and checked the drains (using a funnel and tubing and running water through them). Every single one of the drains (found 6) was clear!!! Not even a partial block!!! Furthermore, my roof still leaks! Now they want to charge me $100 to perform a water-leak check, still refusing to recognize this as a warranty issue. Lastly, when they had spent 2 days diagnosing the “clogged” drains and quoting me upwards of $2K for repairs, they went and washed my car – so now I have MORE water in the passenger carpet. Never, ever again will I trust them – I am giving fair warning, they don’t stand by their customer satisfaction policy, they don’t give honest or precise answers and frankly could care less about their customers. The GM made the simple statement, “you haven’t spent that much money here …” inferring we didn’t purchase the car from him and they haven’t made much money only performing warranty repairs. Side note: Every time the car was brought in for warranty issues there was neglect in their repairs. They had to replace the rear-window due to a defective defroster wire – they forgot to order the window (had to remind them after 6 weeks went by – first they claimed they had to wait for it to be delivered from Germany, then they finally admitted they forgot to order it). When they did replace the window, they forgot to connect the wiring – so I had to go back again for them fix it.

Horrible Experience

by mmilkboy on 09/03/2011

The sales person tried to sell me an older car for more a higher price than their agreed to AAA price--he tried to sell me a 2011 for more than the negotiated price for a 2012. The "Business Manager" is an overbearing and intimidating man who berates customers. He jumped in my face telling me what my experience was. He constantly interrupted and didn't listen. His approach is to GIVE you YOUR opinion when he wants it. He then tried to deceive me when we were discussing financing options, switching both the percentage rate and the amount at the last minute. The overall experience was horrible. It took too long and was unpleasant for much of the time. After 3+ hours I left disturbed and unhappy, though thankfully without a car.

50K Service

by gskang on 11/08/2008

I booked an appointment for servicing and confirmed over the phone that it will take about 45 mins, whereas when I reached there they told us that it will take little over an hour. I patiently sat down and next time I heard from their servicing guy was after a long wait of 2.5 hours. I was still glad that it was finally over and started driving home. In about 4-5 miles on a highway, I suddenly started hearing lot of noise and it felt as if something is stuck under the car. I had to pull over right there and realized that they didn't fix a plastic panel at the bottom of the car properly and left that unscrewed. It obviously resulted in a broken panel on one side and there were literally no screws at all. We went back to the Servicing center and their service guy very calmly said that "we probably forgot to put some screws and we will get it fixed right away and when your car arrived, this panel was already broken". He didn't only call me a liar on my face (very coolly by the way) but in fact didn't even apologize for it. I decided not to argue as I was in no mood of spending more time there. When I got my car back and they claimed that everything was fixed, I touched one of the screws and mark my words, that one screw came out even without putting any efforts into it. I realized that the panel was still loose and nothing exactly was fixed. When I complained again and this time I was certainly pretty upset, and in return he said that they will completely replace it with new hardware. By that he actually meant that they will put new screws in and believe it or not but he made it sound as if he did me a huge favor. I can't believe that they didn't put proper screws at the first place and decided to give my car back to put me in danger of messing up driving on a highway. Not to mention, first of all I had to wait for 2.5 hours whereas they promised me 45 mins, then their mistake resulted in a broken panel which they should have replaced, and then in name of fixing they didn't do anything to it and finally put new screws which probably cost $5 in any hardware store and made is sound as if they did me a great favor. Not only they screwed up my car but also made me wait there for total of more than 3-4 hours.
