Chatham Parkway Toyota is a Dishonest Dealership

by david_k2 on 07/07/2015

I leased a 2012 Toyota Camry from Chatham Parkway Toyota. I was told by the salesman that at the end of the lease; if I bought the 2012 Camry, re-leased the 2012 Camry, leased another car, or bought another car that any excess mileage and disposition fees would be waved. I bought a new 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid, and Toyota sent me a bill for $1,561.42 for excessive mileage and a disposition fee. Why do the sales people at Chatham Parkway Toyota tell customers lies? I thought I was dealing with a reputable company. This particular dealership is putting a black mark on the entire Toyota Family and their good name. I will never buy a Toyota Product again. When people ask me about my new 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid, I will be telling them this story.

Honorable Sales people

by molina67 on 02/14/2013

I conducted the entire purchase via email, even my trade. They gave me the max allowed according to edmunds without ever seeing the vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership the sales person came back with a price of $22,000 and I showed her the email her manager sent me for $18900 and they honored that price without another word being said.

Honored the quote I received on line

by HBB2 on 11/18/2012

Purchased a 2012 Camry using a Consumer Reports price certificate. They honored the price and did not try to re-negotiate the price or use bully tactics or misleading price switches like Savannah Toyota did. Cynthia at Chatham told me that I would end up buying from them because of the way Savannah Toyota operates. She was Right!!!!

I love my new Corolla!

by allieh8 on 05/04/2012

I recently visited Chatham Parkway Toyota and was worried about some credit issues I had had in the past. Mark in the Internet Sales Department ensured me that he would work hard for me. However, I was still uneasy right before my visit. After visiting the dealership, Alvin (finance manager and Mark helped me work through any issues I had and I was able to purchase a brand new 2012 COROLLA! Thanks to all the nice wonderful staff at Chatham Parkway for helping me get into my new vehicle!

Terrible Customer Service and Disrespectful Towards Military

by wtbiggs on 04/06/2012

On Saturday, 24 March 2012, my wife and I visited Chatham Parkway Toyota in Savannah, GA. We decided to look at new cars that afternoon because my wife was having difficulty lifting our sixth month old baby into the back seat of our F-150 truck and it was also becoming very expensive to drive due to high fuel prices. As an alternative, we decided to test drive a Toyota Prius, and a Toyota Sienna. Following our test drive, I asked our car salesman if he could provide me with a quote on the Sienna to use as a baseline for comparison shopping at other dealerships. Once our car salesman had received an offer from his management, he tried to convince my wife and I that we needed to purchase the Toyota Sienna. My wife and I stated numerous times that we were we were not interested in buying anything that day and wanted to look at some other options. Our car salesman wouldn’t take no for an answer and eventually coerced us into a numbers game. Before I knew it, I had agreed to trade-in our truck for a new Toyota Sienna that was in the showroom. We were rushed through the contract because they had kept us there after hours and wanted to close the dealership. After the contract was signed, a technician had to come out and jump the battery in order to start the Sienna. Once the van was started, I noticed the odometer had 530 miles on it. I asked why there were so many miles on a new vehicle and was told that it had probably been driven to the dealership after it had been shipped from the factory. After these two events and the high pressure sales tactic, I began to not feel good about our purchase. The next day, I contacted our dealer and told him that I would like to return the van in exchange for the truck I had traded. On Monday, 25 March 2012, I arrived to the dealership a few minutes before they opened to discuss my concerns with our purchase. I had to wait an hour before the general sales manager would meet with me. Once he sat down with me, he abruptly told me that we would not take the van back. I offered to purchase a Prius as a compromise to which he quickly rejected. He then stated that “he couldn’t help it if I couldn’t make big boy decisions”. At the time of our conversation, I was in my military uniform because I had stopped in on my way to work. As a veteran of two wars, I felt very offended by his comment and told him that it was uncalled for. He then stated that I had to account for the overtime his staff spent with my wife and I the night we purchased the van. He concluded the discussion by stating that I could trade in the new Sienna for a Prius and offered me almost $5,000 less than what my wife and I had purchased it for 36 hours earlier. That evening, I ran a Carfax report on the Sienna. The report showed that the van had been issued a previous title in Winter Haven, FL. The next day, I contacted a lawyer to determine if I had been sold a used vehicle. According to the dealership, the Sienna had been previously purchased in December 2011. It was returned to the dealership a couple days later because the financing fell through. Chatham Parkway Toyota, argued that the van was still a “new” vehicle, and refused to take it back. My lawyer advised me to not go to court because of the expense and time associated with trial. As a result of my experience with Chatham Parkway Toyota, I cannot in good conscious recommend their services. The dealership has a track record of putting profit before its customers. Based on a majority of the online reviews, Chatham Parkway Toyota has a reputation of conducting poor business practices and providing poor customer service and unfortunately I’m reminded of this every time I drive my “new” Toyota Sienna.

Wonderful Experience All Around~

by christi3 on 08/30/2010

The customer service provided at Chatham Parkway Toyota was beyond wonderful in my opinion. They have the best waiting room, with plush furniture and big screen tv, play room for the kids, accessories shop, clean restrooms, free soda fountain drinks and pop corn, etc. The staff are very attentive and helpful, and they are just as friendly with 'service after the sale'. My boyfriend and I both bought brand new vehicles the same weekend because they were so willing to be resonable with their pricing. Overall, it was the best buying experience I've encountered ever in purchasing a vehicle. Thanks Chatham Parkway Toyota.

Love My Matrix! Not So Into My Dealership...

by reneer on 08/28/2010

I purchased by 2009 Toyota Matrix in July, 2008. I selected a 4-door hatchback, entry-level model (although it does have a/c and power locks/windows). My salesman was friendly enough and earned points when he didn't lead with the standard "so how much are you looking to pay a month?" I had a nice test drive and made my decision to buy. And then things went downhill, although I didn't realize it until later. 'Cause they're good at what they do. First, my car had a sticker with a price of XXXX, so when my salesman quoted a price 3K higher, i had a brief moment of confusion. When I asked him the sticker price did not agree with his price, he explained that "Oh, that's just a suggested price, but they forgot to account for this, that, and this." I replied that I didn't feel that was my concern, and that I would not pay 3K more than the sticker price, and that I considered the sticker price a starting point where I would go down from, not up. And so he left for a few moments and returned with his Sales Manager, who was equally friendly and explained that he would sell the car for the price on the window sticker. I then offered a lower amount and he asked me how much I planned to put down and he started "running some numbers." A few minutes later we had agreed on a purchase price and I found out I qualified for zero percent financing. I agreed to put $3,000 down. Shortly thereafter, I met the Finance Manager and proceeded to write out my down payment check and sign my paperwork. I agreed to a 4-year repayment term. After I signed the paperwork, my salesman was nowhere to be found and I spent the next 45 minutes trying to find someone to get me the keys to my newly purchased Toyota Matrix. After I drove home and the new car bliss wore off, I whipped out my calculator and multiplied my monthly payment times my 48 payments and realized I would be paying back much more than the window sticker price, even with my $3,000 down. I was shocked and felt like an idiot. Then I experienced a series of flashbacks wherein I recalled multiple people talking at the same time and effectively distracting me. Even after accounting for tax, tag and title, I paid a lot more for the car than I thought I was paying. I feel that as a woman buying a car alone I was assumed to be an idiot (and apparently they assumed correctly because I paid too much for the car). So, Matrix I love you, but next time I buy a car I will make sure to bring my A game. As they say, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me..."
