Best experience around

First off I'd like to thank my sales consultant, Chris Eldridge, and my business manager, Bobby Walsh, for making my buying experience fast and simple. I originally ended up at Clearwater Toyota by mistake thinking that the truck I was interested in was there. I was wrong but it couldn't have worked out any better. Chris quickly approached me and I told him what I was searching for. There were no used 4x4 models on the lot but he went above and beyond to find one that hadn't been listed yet. I told Chris what I had to work with and he did a great job negotiating with the sales manager. I always felt that Chris was very honest and upfront with me and we were able to work out a deal that fit my budget. On to financing, Bobby was the coolest, calmest, guy I've ever dealt with. He knows the ins and out of financing. The interest rates he got me crushed the ones I had shopped around for, at my credit union and other banks, before I went to the dealer. These guys felt like family. I highly recommend anyone that reads this to get in contact with Chris if you're interested in purchasing a vehicle.

Great buying experience

I would definitely recommend this dealership for buying a new car. We had Terry Hummel as our sales consultant. He spent all the time with us that we needed; he was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Best car buying experience ever. Seek out Terry for a great car buying experience.

Mo kept all his promises. Quick, friendly, I was working with several dealers over the phone and this dealer gave me the best price and there was no pressure for "add ons" . Best car buying experience I ever had and I have had many!!!

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware! My husband and I had a horrible experience negotiating and losing a deal to purchase a 2011 Highlander. The sale person had incorrect facts about the car, including the price and the Toyota Certification. When a deal was finally reached, we drove to the dealership, and they made us wait for 45 minutes. We continually asked what the delay was. Finally we realized they were signing a contract with another couple for the same car. They used us as bait to get another offer on the car. They are highly unprofessional and wasted our time. The sales staff had a very nonchalant attitude towards the situation and offered no apology for the situation. I wouldn’t trust this dealership with any car purchase.

Exceptional Buying Experience

I recently purchased a 2010 Honda from this dealership. The internet department answered my request for information in less than a minute, some other dealers have yet to respond. I made an appointment , Josh in the internet Dept greeted me with another sales person and the car was ready for me to see. The sales manager was extremely professional, NO BS,and the finance department was way way above average. It was a seamless transaction and I was on the road in less than two hours time on a busy Sunday. I woudl highly recommend Charles R. and Josh in the internet Department, they were professional, friendly and efficient. By far one of my best car buying experiences EVER.

Love my new truck!

Wow! Thank You to my Veteran Brother Shane C. at Clearwater Toyota! This Marine sold me an awesome 2013 Toyota Tacoma. It is my very first new vehicle purchase. I didn't know if my credit would allow me to do so but Shane made it work and he knocked $2000 off the lowered internet price because of my veteran status. He showed me a nice 2010 Tacoma with 39k miles. It was nice but Shane showed me how I could get a new one for about $2000 more with discounts he seemed to pull from the air. At no time did I feel pressured and he never came across as dishonest. It was like buying a car from an old friend. My trade ins were given a fair estimate that increased significantly to get the price where I needed to make the deal workable. Yes, I have my first car payment but it is well within my budget. Do not be afraid to check out this big dealership if you have questionable credit. Shane and the gang will do everything possible to help you get a reliable vehicle. After I make 12 on time payments at a higher interest rate I can refinance at a lower rate and knock $100 off my payments. What a great experience! Thank You Shane C. and Clearwater Toyota. Best I've seen

To make a long story a little short . . . I took a friend to this dealership. She had talked to them a few days earlier and had a deal with her trade-in. The day of her big trade and purchase of her new car her old car wouldn't start! We did everything, had a mechanic look at it. He for the most part labeled it dead without thousands put into it. She was very upset and figured they definitely wouldn't give her the trade in $$$. She was only getting blue book value for it if that. They not only gave her the $$$ they had promised but she got a great deal on the car over all. I couldn’t believe it – remember I’m just a friend in the back ground. At that time they definitely won me over. They were very courteous to her and me before they knew what we were looking to purchase. We got the same treatment as we walked out the door. This is what separates the dealers; it tells me everything I need to know about a business. Treat me poorly (don’t look at me, don’t acknowledge my existence, waste my time) I’ll never be back. Treat me like a customer should (I pay your bills), I also tell my friends how I was treated. I treat you with respect and the person I’m going to have a long relationship with. We both leave happy – I just prefer that kind of relationship with whom I do business. Thank you Clearwater Toyota - I'll be back!

Best Car Buying Experience of My Life

We have bought 3 cars from this dealership to date. I've always bought new cars ever few years and each time as much as I love buying one I DREAD having to deal with the dealers. Each time we have purchased from Clearwater Toyota, Walter, has been our guy. He has made the process seamless with no annoying back and forth. He even streamlined the process because we have 2 small children making it VERY fast. I can't stress enough that each purchase has been the best experience I've ever had and this is coming from someone that has bought a new car every 3 years since he was 20 and I'm 41. Go see Walter at Clearwater Toyota and you will see what I'm talking about.

Very dissatified...

I was not dissatified with the price of the car but I was dissatisfied and displeased with the lying of their new car staff; specifically, Brice Moll and Rodney Thomason. They lied to me and did not meet their commitments. AGAIN...I would not deal with them again. Call me at [phone number removed] if you want specifics.

Unexpectedly pleased. Obviously, this is a car dealership so the expectations walking in were quite low. Let's just say that Kevin, the sales manager, set out to impress. I ended up buying even though i wasn't ready. I'm happy with my Camry (who wouldn't be..these things are easy to like!) Thanks guys

Best buying experience yet!

I did my research before I contacted Clearwater Toyota. I knew the make and model of the car I wanted. I contacted 3 other dealers and got the best price before I ever entered the showroom. There was no "let me go to my manager" - keeping me waiting game. Price was emailed to me, I set up an appointment, drove the car and purchased it. Internet sales team was responsive; understanding I was a serious buyer and responded accordingly.

Excellent Purchase experience and follow-up

From start to finish, I had an excellent experience at Clearwater Toyota. I first came by in mid-January to test-drive a 2010 Prius and was politely approached by Brahim Fourari in the showroom. I at first said we were ok, and didn't have any questions yet and he respected the answer and said to let him know if we needed anything. I ended up doing the test drive with Brahim and he did everything right. When I let him know after the test drive that I was not intending to purchase that weekend, he was perfectly ok with that. All good salesman know that the first chance is the best one to make a sale, but Brahim respected my intentions to test drive a few other brands of cars that weekend. Right then, I knew that I wanted to work with him if I did come back to purchase the Prius. The following weekend, on January 30th I came back to look at the Prius again and possibly purchase. I experienced no high-pressure sales tactics during the price negotiation and had a positive experience in dealing with both Brahim and the Sales Manager Justin Matthews. I did most of negotiating with Justin and his attitude and patience with me were both outstanding. It took me awhile to consider my options in negotiating the deal, and Justin was professional throughout, including giving me time to discuss with some family. George Kozlowski was also easy to work with and he earned my finance business by beating the interest rate that I had gotten from a third-party before coming in that day. He also patiently explained all of the figures in the contract and the options for extended warranties and add-on's. I also must mention Kellan Schneider. He assisted me a few days later when I stopped by to inquire about getting a scratch buffed out. It happened accidentally during the prep process when my license plate was affixed to the car. (It was raining that day, and the water drops probably obscured the scratch mark, which Brahim and I didn't see during the walk-around after purchase) Kellan, even though it was not his sale, also spent quite a bit of time with me explaining the Prius electronics and driving tips in regards to the Prius fuel economy. I was at the dealership last week to have the Prius brake recall taken care of. I didn't wait more than a few minutes to meet with the service advisor, even though they were swamped that day. Service experience positive too. If you live in the area, I would consider stopping by. Any business, especially car dealerships since a car purchase can be a draining and emotional experience, will get negative reviews. I didn't experience any of that, but I was prepared going in. Take an hour to read "Don't Get Taken Every Time" by Remar Sutton. It's a good and very informative read. If you want to save money, it's worth your time.

Overall Great Experience

My husband and I bought a 2010 Toyota 4 Runner from Toyota of Clearwater and we had a wonderful experience overall. Their inventory wasn't the greatest but they did everything in their power to make sure we got the exact vehicle we wanted in a quick manner.The vehicle is new so it was very difficult to find the exact color and options we wanted anywhere, but the team here made it possible. The sales manager, Brent, was such a wonderful help through the whole purchasing process along with his team members, Mario (both of them). I would recommend this dealership to my families and friends.

Horrible Salesman

We were recently going to buy a Toyota 4Runner, but after terrible experience with salesman, we left and went to Honda dealership and bought a Honda Pilot. He drove the car and slammed on the brakes going fast twice (still could smell rubber from tires when we got back to dealership), did circles in the parking lot several times and then twice turned the radio up as loud. We are both in our 60's, so did not need to have any of these extreme demonstrations. Will never go back there.

Incompetent service

I purchased a new Scion tC from this dealership ~1 month ago and have had a few warranty items to address, this has been met with nothing but headaches and aggravation. The drivers seat rocks back and forth. Unfortunately I had some change drop into the seat which is what Clearwater Toyota/Scion used as a scapegoat for an actual problem. The change has been removed but the seat still rocks, this is not too obnoxious so it has not been readdressed as I am sure they will find some excuse to get out of it. Peeling B-pillar trim. The part was ordered but when I took the car in it took them three attempts to fix it correctly. After the first "fix" the trim was falling off before I pulled out of the dealership, after the second "fix" the headliner was falling out of the C-pillar trim at this point I had to get heated and tell them I am not quality checking their work anymore and if they don't know what they are doing I will go elsewhere. Finally it was corrected. The steering wheel is off center about 10 degrees and has been since the car was new. Per my service advisor Toyota will not perform an alignment at this time as the car needs time to "loosen" up. What the hell? So now there is another service visit I have to schedule down the road. Avoid this dealership at all costs, their sales and service is absolutely horrendous.

Great salesperson - horrible after sales support.

We recently purchased a new Scion from Clearwater Toyota/Scion and it has left a seriously bad taste in our mouth. Pros: Nice new dealership. Great salesperson, she went out of our way and answered any questions we had. Unfortunately she is really the only person at the dealership who is genuine and caring. Cons: Finance department tried to screw us. Initially doing the whole 'what kind of payment can you afford' scam. First they came to us with a 14% interest rate when we knew we would qualify for a 7-9%. Unfortunately for them this is our 3rd new car purchase and we knew what we were doing. It took threats of walking out and securing our own financing before they become truthful and quoted accurate figures. They did not apply for our tag until 5 days prior to the temporary expiring. We were told it was in the mail when it was not. It took 2 very heated phone calls to finally locate our tag one day prior to our temporary expiring. Service department is an absolute joke.....will write a seperate review for that. If you relish being hassled and screwed this is a great dealership. Otherwise there are plenty of other Toyota/Scion dealerships in the area that are probably leaps and bounds better than Clearwater Toyota.

Clearwater Toyota did so many things wrong I don't even know where to start. At first I thought I was getting a good deal and I was being treated fairly... Then I went into financing. Now to give you a bit of background, my husband and I had already bought him a car the same morning as I was buying mine in the afternoon. Therefore I already knew my credit score was well above average and there would not be a problem finding a bank to finance us. So when the finance manager told me that the bank I wanted to use wasn't going to finance me, I started asking questions. They assured me that the financing I had gotten that morning would never go through and the other dealership would rewrite that contract and call us back on the first car we had bought that morning. Their reasoning was the fact that it was a 2004 vehicle and said the bank would not finance a car "that old". Being it was Saturday and no way for me to check with the bank I accepted what they said at face value. My mistake. Not only did they LIE to me about the financing they also LIED about the fact that I couldn't refinance right away. They told me I had to wait 6 months to get my car refinanced. IF ANYONE TELLS YOU THIS THEY ARE LYING!! You can have your car refinanced immediately. They lose money if you do and that is why they tell you that. So I called the bank on the following monday and guess what? They said no problem we will refinance for you at 6% LOWER INTEREST RATE. I went from an unreasonable 10.5% to 4.9%!!! For a person with perfect credit that was more of an insult than anything. I couldn't believe what they did was not illegal. This was such a terrible experience that I went back and cancelled the extended warranty they had sold me because I NEVER want to deal with these people again.

I hated it there it was the most unprofessional place I have ever been!!!!!!!! I would never go back there I had a misribal time no one was willing to help me at first! then once I did get some salesmen he was extreamly rude to me and there managers there was ever worse. I went to go complain about my experince and there blew me off like the didnt care!!!! I would never go back there and i would never recomend this dealership to anyone!!!!!! I left there dealership and went to [another dealership] and it was a great experiance there everyone was very nice!

Horrible! Watch for the bait and switch!!

I was looking to purchase a 2008 Toyota Sequoia. Clearwater Toyota had the truck I wanted but with more options then I needed. After a couple of days of negotiating I came to an agreement with THE TRUCK ON THEIR LOT over the phone with the sales manager, but when I called him back to tell him I would be there to pick up the vehicle the next day he said that he needed to order it and wanted a $500 deposit. The sales manager wanted to make a deal on a truck that he had not even found or talked to me about. I never once mentioned any vehicle but the one he had on the lot. He wanted me to put down a deposit and order one with less options for the same price. I will never return to or recommend Clearwater Toyota to ANYONE!!!! BEWARE!!!!!

Superior Dealership

After insulting trade-in quotes from [violative content deleted] and a few others we went to Clearwater Toyota. We had tried the Vibe, Mazda3, Matrix, Astra, HHR, Scion xb and some not worth mentioning. My wife and I had narrowed it down to the Mazda3 or the Scion XB. When we arrived at the dealership there was a salesman in an XB in front of the showroom, I asked him if they had anymore XB's, He stopped what he was doing, brought us inside and and introduced us to a saleman, Tim Combs, who gave us his undivided attention. We told him what we were interested, He offered to bring the cars to us but I preferred to cruise the lot to see what was out there. We were on a budget and trading in a year old HHR. Our salesman was well trained in the vehicles they sold and was able to answer all questions. We wanted a standard shift XB ,a hard one to find. He found one, it had just been delivered and it was in our price range. With about 10 minutes of negotiations we got the deal we wanted. Clearwater Toyota gave me more money for our car then the other dealer offered, or any other dealer we tried to deal with. And this was a fixed price car we were buying ! I can't say enough good things about this dealership. From the time we entered the door, until we left ,there was nothing but smiling polite employee's. I am not the easiest person deal with when car shopping and our salesman was nothing less than excellent. If you are looking for a Scion or Toyota you need to go to Clearwater Toyota !
