Great Experience

by heastonfamily on 11/30/2017

We have purchased several cars/trucks from Landers and it is always a pleasant experience. Terrance was a great sales rep and did not stop until he got the deal approved!

Best and Easiest Car Purchase ever!

by tomnchrist on 11/10/2017

My salesman is Joe Green, very professional and attentive to my needs and wants. Was patient while we decided the best type vehicle for our needs (this took two days), was very knowledgeable about the various vehicles, and patient will we picked color and accessories. And I feel he was on our side when dealing on the final price, for both my purchase and trade-in. I really appreciated him after the purchase for helping us understand all the new fangled electronics on board. Plus when I need service he helps make the appointment and makes sure we are taken care of. All of the folks at Landry's were courteous and a pleasure to work with. Guess where my next vehicle purchase will be? Landry's!

No Honor

by Joderman on 06/11/2016

Landers Dodge in Bossier City will list their price on their website, but you get true sticker shock when you go to the dealership and look at the window sticker. They add on a couple of items, whether you want it or not, which are extreme mark ups. Like charging $595 for a road package which consists of pin stripe and a wheel lock on each tire (which you can buy for yourself for only $40). The add-ons increased the price of the vehicle by over $1300, which is mostly profit for the dealership. Also, after some negotiating, we received an "out-the-door-price" that was good for "today only." They give "today only" prices to get you to make the decision to buy on the spot. We had received & refused a previous, higher, "today only" price. We agreed on the deal, but discovered after papers were signed that the price was actually higher than our agreed upon deal, and they would not honor the deal. We were told that someone made a mistake on figuring taxes and that taxes are taxes and by law they have to do the taxes right. We understand that, but they should honor their out the door price, even if they have to adjust the price of the vehicle so that when the taxes are added the out the door price equals what they offered to us and we agreed upon. We were greatly disappointed that they would not honor their deal and will definitely never purchase from this dealership again. I will drive further and pay more to buy from someone who will honor their word.

Long story...

by ast777 on 01/24/2015

Lander’s Dodge Bossier City Horrible Experience Everyone knows the process of buying or leasing a new car is no fun. Imagine spending 6 hours at a dealership, looking at and driving 1 car, buying the 1 and only car they showed to you, agreeing on a price, signing the papers, waiting for the car to be detailed, given the key’s and owner’s manual for the car, being told, ‘here it is you are all ready to go’, seeing them park the car at the door… and then being told they sold you the wrong car! I spent 6 hours at Lander’s Dodge on Saturday, January 17th, with my 72 year old mom, my 12 year old daughter and my 4 year old granddaughter. 6 HOURS!! I called ahead and spoke with Derek Thomas. He said he had a car he thought would work for us and to come in and drive it. When we arrived at the dealership the salesman walked us out to the car and went over all of the features. He said it was a Chrysler 200C with a 4 cylinder engine, sunroof, heated and vented seats and heated steering wheel, etc... and showed us how to operate everything. He gave us the keys and told us to take it for test drive. We drove the car and liked it. We sat down when we got back to the dealership and went back and forth many times on the numbers for the car until we agreed on a price and lease payments. The salesman would give us a figure, we’d counter, and he’d go back to the sales manager and bring us another figure. This happened several times, back and forth. FINALLY we all agreed on a figure. We filled out the credit application with the salesman and waited to sign the papers. When the papers were filled out and everything was ready, they called us into the finance office and we went over the paperwork and signed each of the documents. We were excited, almost done! They asked us to wait in the showroom while they had the car detailed. While we were waiting, they brought us the key and owner’s manual for the car. Finally we were told the car is detailed and ready to go. The car was pulled up to the side door for us. The next thing we knew, they were telling us that they had sold us the wrong car!! We only looked at the one car, drove that same car, and purchased that same car! We were forced to leave in the car we came in after all of that. We were exhausted, frustrated, stressed out, extremely unhappy and felt completely taken advantage of! Update... We went back to the dealership on Monday, January 19th and spoke with the General Manager and Denny Rogers the owner. We purchased the car we wanted, the one we thought we'd purchased on Saturday, for a much higher price of course. I guess we should have just walked away but, and I know this is bad, I was emotionally invested in the car and I wanted it! After driving the car for a few days I asked if they would tint the windows in the car for me. I didn't think this was much to ask after everything we'd been through but they refused. You would think that after everything they would have given me a good deal on the car I ended up getting or at the very least tinting my windows but they refused to do either. I love my car (so far) but will never again do business with Lander's Dodge and dread going in for oil changes, etc... I have to say that on Monday when we spoke with the owner and GM they were very unsympathetic. They even tried to turn it around and make it my fault saying that I should have checked the VIN numbers and that I was confused about which car I was getting because of one I had looked at a week before. I truly feel like we were taken advantage of at Lander's by the employees and the owner. I guess we will never know if they made an honest mistake or if they saw an opportunity to take advantage of a customer and took it. One final note, our original salesman was Justin and then we were switched to Mary (on Monday). I don't believe any of this was their fault and they were both awesome to deal with and made me feel like a valued customer unlike the other employees/owner at Lander's. And they wonder why car dealers have a bad reputation!

Very Poor Sales Experience

by jbenton70 on 05/01/2011

I had a very bad experiemce at this dealership. I would not recommend anyone to go there. At first I was told to come in after speaking with a manager in sales and I fully explained my situation as I was upside down in my current car and I was told many times "No Problem" we can make it work and once my wife and I went to this dealership not once not tiwice but three times, finally we got a change to talk toa finance manger and he said that we needed to put down some huge amount of money when he knew very well we did not have that kind of money. It took them almost a week to get us to the point of saying unless we come up with 6 or 7 thousand dollars than there really was nothing they could do. The problem with this is that we had told everyone up front in the beginning that we where upside down and we only had very little to put down on the new purchase. I felt that this dearlship just played games with me and my family and I will never go back there.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck...

Do not trust this dealership. They are [violative content deleted]. They will lie to you and run your credit without your permission. Don't even give them your name. They will try to pocket your down payment. They will try to put you in any car not the car you want. I told the dealer several times the car I wanted and he did not pay attention. That's the first thing you should do in customer service: listen to what the customer wants and try to get them that. I refuse to ever deal with that dealership again just because they lied so much to me and were so focused on getting over on me. I went to another dealership and was approved and got the car I wanted. They came off as very desperate to sell a car, like [violative content deleted]. There's a reason they have so many vehicles available on their car lot!!!

Don't trust them

by kicker5 on 09/15/2008

My spouse had picked out the vehicle they wanted and I went in on my lunch hour to finalize the price and fill out the loan application. We came to terms on a price and I left my application with the salesman who told me that he would call me when he found out the rate for which I was approved. I already had looked at my bank's rates, but was informed that the price they quoted included a $1,000 rebate for using Chrysler financial (a fact I was not told previously). That was my first warning not to trust them. Second, the salesman never called me so I contacted him that evening asking about the interest rate. He told me that a finance manager would get back in touch with me. I never heard anything that evening. Third, I contacted the finance manager the following day and after a big run-a-round, was finally informed that the sales manager did not allow them to tell the interest rate quotes over the phone. I live 25 miles from the dealership and was not going to travel that distance just to find out something they could tell me over the phone. I wanted to compare their rates with my bank's and see which would be the better deal taking into consideration the $1,000 rebate. Of course, they do not want you to do this - they would rather make me wait at the dealership and waste my time so that I finally give in and just say - whatever. Needless to say - I did not go into the dealership and I did not buy the vehicle.
