Usual Car Sales Shenanigans
I called ahead of time to verify a car advertised online was available, and the price. As you can guess when I showed up there was a 'mix-up' and the price was $10k higher. They gave me some ridiculous explanation. They had a pre-owned that fit my specs/budget so I went with that instead, but I was definitely a victim of bait-and-switch. I'm also out of state, and although they had protocol for the registration in my state, it's 5 weeks later and I still have no plates or registration, nor any explanation. They are typical used car salesmen with very little professionalism.

Bruno salesman cheated me
Donot go the salesman Bruno cheated me took my old car didnot give me proper tradein value and sold me car with high interest rate which is ridiculous don't go with sugary tongue of this salesman u will be cheated and charged more money

I leased an Altima last week, the 1st dealer i went to wouldnt give me the deal i wanted, told me know one could do it. North Plainfield gave me more for my trade and made the deal i wanted. Glad i gave them a shot, very happy
Dishonest, don't go there
I found a car on "cars.com" but rather than rely on the internet, I emailed and called North Plainfield Nissan to make sure the vehicle was still available. I spoke with a sales person 3 times and each time she assured me that the car was available. I did not haggle the price, but also requested she check on financing for me. I told her I live about an hour away so didnt want to waste my time if they couldnt get me great financing, but rather would get pre-approved online. I told her I have excellent credit, no debt and a great job. With that information, she said I could possibly get a 1.9% financing (which is hard to believe I could get on a used car). She even calculated what the payment would be on the vehicle I wanted. I told her I would come in the afternoon to see the car and indeed went there with a deposit check in hand. When I got there, she had already left for the day so another sales person helped me. He had all my information and reiterated my excellent credit history. He asked another sales associate to get the car. The other associate looked at the sheet of paper and instantly said "I sold this car 2 weeks ago." But, by the reaction of each, it was clear they already knew the car was not there. I was bated to come to the dealership when it was known that the car I was interested in was not there. I believe North Plainfield Nissan is dishonest and intentionally mislead me. The car was out of inventory for 2 weeks. The sales associate knew, or should have known that the car was not available, but repeatedly assured me it was, coaxed me to come there, only to try to sell me a different vehicle. Hire honest sales associates because North Plainfield Nissan will never get my business. I will leave a negative review for my sales experience.
Went there after getting appointment with Marsha, she was too busy to meet and directed to another sales executive who had no interest in taking us up, may be our budget of just 12k or he was genuinely overloaded with work. Asked us to go out and check their stock for a car we would like by ourselves(it was a freaking cold day) probably it is tough to check the computer for inventory. A rather humiliating experience
I confirmed with Vinni Lopes over the phone that the vehicle I was interested in is available, and was given an attractive price for it. Upon my arrival, after significant wait I was told by the sales person that the vehicle is not in their inventory, but was traded to another dealership. They wasted half of my day.
Costly Repairs but Not Fixed
After having spark plugs and coils replaced here, my car was plagued with intermittent misfires resulting in blinking then solid SES light. One head gasket, an engine control module and several sensors later, problem has not been resolved. After spending more on repairs than the value of my car, I made a complaint to Nissan NA. They were told by the dealer that each visit (6 in 6 months) was for a different issue (not true). A very expensive lesson to learn - don't make same mistakes as I did.
Crooked & Sleazy
I can't believe this place is still in business! Wasted an entire day buying a car they didn't have on the lot but showed us ON PAPER was at one of the other of "three dealerships we own". Pinged my credit, put a deposit down, signed papers, shook hands, got a copy of the vin, and went to a celebratory lunch since they promised they would have the car delivered to them in three hours. Thought I was the owner of a new Murano! About an hour later received a phone call they COULD NOT PRODUCE THE CAR I SIGNED TO BUY. Wanted to bait and switch me to a different car located in another state they would deliver "in a couple days", sight unseen, AFTER I paid for it. The entire atmosphere of this dealership is Dewey Cheatum & Howe. STAY AWAY from these crooked tough guys!
Lies. Deceit. Incompetence. Insulting.
The whole five hour process felt like a charade. Sales guy was rude from beginning and lacked knowledge. I had TrueCar deals and called before to confirm costs. Once there, the two cars were not there and they tried to bill $4000 over. Tried to get me to agree to itemized costs thinking I couldn't do simple math to realize amount at bottom was $800 over. They try to hide and bury costs to get the deal higher. I tried to leave several times but they held me hostage. They had my registration to trade in and credit card. Sales guy kept walking away to manager to "work" on deal. Really he was wasting time and trying to wear me down. Never again! Never been so insulted.
Quick & Good Service
Service was quick, and I had no problems at all. Everything seems to have been done well and I was in and out.
Another Satisfying Lease Experience
Now, in what must be a 7th or more leasing arrangement with this Nissan dealer, I just leased a new 2015 Altima. Working with Howard Handler over the years has been easy, and comfortable. I realize the key for many is the $$$,s, I am no less concerned, however my experience here is that at this dealership the pricing has always been MORE than competitive, and the service and experience stress-free. The paper signing this time with Noel Verdejo was quick, all questions answered...no stress. This car was for my wife, and accessory explanations necessary, Randy did a great job! My wife drove off...HAPPY! THANK YOU to Howard and the service people at North Plainfield Nissan for another satisfying new car experience. Now looking forward to the call ahead for my Murano (a truly great car)!

I bought Nissan Rogue 2011 in the month of March 2015 from this dealership. They have cheated about the price I have paid for it. At the time of purchase they did not gave me complete breakup of the cost and said there was some system issue so will send it later. But unfortunately I have to moved to Charlotte and when I got the cost breakup and I found $500 coupon rebate amount which they said I will get but did not got it. I am keep on calling them but they just forward the call and dont respond. I have made 100+ calls and sent 50+ emails for follow-up but did not got any response. I am writing this review so that everyone come to know how bad people they have just Untrustworthy and [non-permissible content removed].
Easy smooth transaction
I normally dread car shopping because I always feel like the salespeople are going to get over on me. I felt completely comfortable here I had my edmunds coupon & felt like they treated me fairly. They didnt nickle & dime me on some little things I asked for & I appreciated them putting up with me & making it possible for me to get what I wanted for my trade (although note to self i should have asked for at least another 800) & more importantly they treated me very kindly even though i had a bit of an attitude when i walked in because i had a bad experience at another nissan dealer i went to before them, so glad i found them, would def buy again although im hoping i will have my 2015 for many years to come. Highly recommend!!!!
This dealership is out to sell cars not sell less for more... If you fight them you will get more... Dont be shy tell them what you want and they will deliver. The service dept. guys are great and free oil changes... But I will buy Subarus because the Nissan brand is not as safe or solid as Subarus... If you have your sights on a Nissan this is the place to buy and free oil changes... But willing to give up free oil changes once our 2012 Altima lease is up we are getting an out back because our 2013 Legacy blows away the Altima... The Altima may have nice gadgets but the Legacy is solid road machine and eats snow for fun... You just cant get the confidence of the road in an Altima as you do in a Legacy... Even in heavy rain storms the Legacy gives you confidence you will blast through the wet road... The Legacy is in a class of its own... All cars have FWD Transverse engines so just pick any of them from Asian to USA models and they will perform the same... Subarus are Vertical Boxer engines that give you the feeling of security great handling and stability... No top heavy cars... I paid more for this car Subaru never has rebates to sell they don't need them...
Great selection and great purchase experience
We had a wonderful experience purchasing a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder here. We felt in control of the entire process and were very comfortable with our purchase and trade in.
after comparing prices at three Nissan dealers I have made up my mind to purchase here, not only because of the price, everything else count more that a little different in a new car's price.
This is the third car bought from the North Plainfield Nissan dealership. I have received outstanding service each time - the quality never falters. I definitely recommend this dealership if you are in the market for a Nissan. I have other Nissan dealerships closer to where I live, but this one by far surpasses the others in quality and customer service.
As an uptight female first time car buyer i was put at ease at the dealership. I did not feel pushed in any way. My sales rep. Sidhu S., "Sid" was courteous and really heard what my needs were in a car. I am bad with names and i met many managers, financial people, etc and was treated with respect. Actually i was suprised with such decent treatment. Needless to say i drove away with a beautiful new Altima. I was quoted a fair price and the financing was better than expected.
