Horrible customer service

by Conniellamb on 11/19/2016

I called spoke to jessica regarding buying a used car below 10k but Just because my credit bad i at least deserve respect and a reply from my email and calls. She told me i could get into a car based on my income I told her my credit was challenging but last night her co-worker Alex told me straight out we can't help you unless you have a huge down payment. Never asked what I had just flat out told me cant help you. And to top it off the next day the general manager calls me says he wants to help. They Do Not know what there doing but dis respect people and lie to you.

Just Awful

by patchnparrot on 07/11/2016

Just an all-round awful purchase experience. A new low, and I've been buying new cars for 40 years. I'd buy another Kia in a minute, but would take the bus before I bought another car from these people.

Stay Away No Stars, the site made me give them 1

I heard a radio ad about up to "$6000 above Kelley Blue Book Value for your trade". I look at all the prices mentioned from KBB, sell to dealer, sell to private, trade in to dealer, basically I valued my car every which way Kelley would, A 2003 Lincoln LS in need of minor repair and with interior damage, and minor dents and scratched paint the lowest Kelley valued my car was 3800, the highest was 5600. The actual condition of my car puts it in the 5000-5400 range. I go in to see about a new car. Immediately the double-talk begins the salesman did not know the car prices, could not give me a price on a base model, eventually I decide on a car, now its time to talk, still in the dark as to the price we go inside. The salesman I dealt with was awesome, an angel compared to the next one the manager. They inspect my car, and offer me 1800, needless to say I was insulted, the radio ad did clearly say 6000 above KBB value, not half, and certainly not what this guy thinks my car is worth in his own faulty mind, what KBB valued the car at, he could not even give half. I think a totaled LS goes for more than that in scrap metal alone. I never saw that number on the KBB website in relation to my car, the "manager" said the value is actually below his offer and that KBB isn't even a pricing guideline in the real world, the manager said that. I want some of what he is smoking, because that is a huge disconnect from reality. The deal was over . He knew it, I knew it, the harem of salesmen looking on knew it, and yet he still continued the insulting barrage of stupidity. Needless to say we left and will not be going back there while he works there. Pity for the first salesman who is out, I feel yet another, commission. If you use Kelley Blue Book in your ad you should be ready to honor it. ===Go Somewhere Else=== That's Palms Springs KIA Highway 111 in Cathedral City Ca, avoid at all costs, or it may cost you all.

Believe nothing they say.

Set a new low for car dealers. Before getting into my experience understand that this is about the dealer, not Kia. I still want to buy a Kia. I heard an add on the radio stating they were running a special giving $6000 above blue book value for all trade ins. I called to get the details. It was confirmed that this was true and there were no exceptions for the model of car, mileage, etc. Against my better judgement, I went to the dealer. I have been interested in Forte SX for a while. When I got there I test drove the EX, they did not have any cars like what I wanted. We started talking about the trade in and I was quoted $3150 for my car. I still owe $3150 on it. So I mention the add for $6000 over blue book and the salesman actually says "oh you know how advertising is, its just a way saying something that means something different." I said if they were not going to honor the adds we were done. Then he said cars with over 100,000 miles don't qualify. I told him I called to confirm the rules and was told there are no exceptions. The response was "well you didn't talk to me, I would have explained it to you. Who did you talk to?" I said I talked to Palm Springs Kia and they said there were no exceptions. He became visually upset at this response. They offered a couple more thousand for a trade in value and I said OK, lets talk about the car. He said The could have it there tomorrow. While we were discussing the trade in his manager found an SX model at another dealer. He showed me the info the car and said I want a white one, not blue. The I was told they will not order a car from the factory, I must buy what they have. Remember, we are talking about a new car, not a used one. This is supposed to be a new car dealer. At a used car place I can understand only being to get what is on the lot, but to say they will not order a car from the factory really surprised me. I will not pay top dollar for a new car and not be able to choose the options I want. Not to mention they still were not honoring their add. Lets put [non-permissible content removed] out of business by never buying from them.

Don't believe what you hear.

by renkel on 03/05/2012

I requested quotes from dealers through Edmunds. This dealer responded quickly with general pricing info. I called and spoke to the internet sales manager and told him the exact car I wanted, which was simply a base model automatic. He quoted me a price and I then reconfirmed the info. My sister and her husband drove a considerable distance to purchase this car for my niece who was with me. When they got to the dealer the internet sales manager said that he did not understand the difference between the manual and automatic pricing and had given the quote for a manual car. He appeared to have no intention of honoring the quote or negotiating in good faith. My sister and niece left the dealership very upset and disappointed. The next day we went to another dealer and purchased the car.

Go here if you want to be treated like crap!

by shellyy on 11/30/2011

I refuse to go here! I was there to buy a new sportage and as I test drove it the sales person couldnt answer a thing. He even told me I knew more about the car then he did! After my husband and I decided we wanted the car we were sat down at a table and waited for 2 hours. The sales guy kept telling us a few more minutes until I demanded to talk to a manager. The sales manager came over with an obvious irritated look on his face and very rudely asked what I wanted. He continued to tell me my credit sucked and I should go across the street to Chevy. He also said I had been waiting because they needed to run credit before giving me ballpark figures. He treated me as though he didnt need my business and he had something better to be doing. I was so irrate I left crying. Later that day I drove to another Kia and bought a new sportage. Now two month later it needs to be looked at. I called Palm Springs to make an appointment for two days from now and the lady sighed several times and told me shed rather have me bring it in on Monday instead of Friday and wouldnt tell me why. This dealer must not need business because they treat people like crap! Choose another dealer.

Getting [violative content deleted] by PalmSpringsKIA

by passivestamina on 06/29/2011

Initially bought a vehicle from them, and drove away with my tank on E. Attempted to fill the tank only to find the nozzle constantly clicking off. Had to come in 3 times just to get them to fix it. Found out a week after the sale that they sold me a car, but the car that I was driving wasn't that car. The wrong vin was on the bill of sale and the registration. Thankfully the DMV caught it and stopped the transfer. I may be getting a lawyer to get this all settled.

Think before going to the Palm Springs Kia of Cathedral City, California.

by max2man on 06/27/2010

I have never had a horrible time in my entire car buying experiences as to what I have experienced recently at ((Palm Springs Kia in Cathedral City, California)). I was there on Sunday afternoon about 4:00P.M. on June 20, 2010, shopping for a new car. Everything went well until a nameless car salesman who claims to be the General Manager in charge, who by the way refused to offer his name card started to bud-in from Eric, the first salesman who helped me and lashed out at me. He tried to hard (core) sell me by telling me to stop shopping around and how I was ignorant from not being informed about his so called "deal" and went on for about 5 minutes, arguing with me, the customer. Then, he got up from his small desk and started to approach me--trying to intimidate me in from of all sales representatives that he was in charge. I felt, he was being an [violative content deleted] from what I could tell and I informed him nicely that I don't appreciate he being aggressive and I have the right to shop around as long as I want. Apparently, he did not like my comments and started to put his face front of me as if he was going to be physical. I could not believe his actions and I was in no mood to further argue with the [violative content deleted] and left the premises. I plan to take appropriate legal actions with the dealership, the person, and with Kia Motors of America. My advice to all Kia customers--(avoid)this dealership at cost. It is not worth wasting your time with the [violative content deleted] at this dealership...
