Pushy

by MollyKay on 06/13/2016

We are just now starting to look at cars and I had marked to receive price notifications about a couple that we had liked online, but with no immediate intent on purchasing. Upon the first email receives from Colin, a sales rep, I let him know that we were not to the point of being ready to purchase a vehicle and that we would call, email, or ask for him if we decided to move forward and visit Jerry's. I have received numerous calls and emails since then saying he hasnt heard from me. I had to email him again to remind him that we HAVE, indeed, spoken via email, I have it in writing, and to remind him that we would reach out when we were ready. I first feel that this salesman in particular is not personable enough to realize he's talked to me before and respect the conversation we already had. I second feel harassed being called and emailed numerous times after informing that we are not ready to talk to a salesman. My desire to work with Jerry's Hyundai has been significantly damaged by this one sales rep and if we do decide later that we would like to further investigate cars at Jerry's, I have no desire to work with a pushy salesman who only wants his commission and doesn't want what's best for the customer.

Disappointment

by deputydog58 on 06/05/2015

I would never use Jason Jutz at this dealership. I trusted him to help me find a new car taking my family size and price range into consideration. Instead he tried to get me into an SUV too small for my family and out of our price range. I told him several times that we weren't going to proceed and he was all pressure. He also went as far as taking the SUV I traded to his own home, more than 75 miles round trip, smoke in it, and it has never been smoked in, without my permission. After my husband completely refused to go any further with his choice for me, did he give it back to me. I am appalled by the way I was treated by him.

Love my new Coupe

by Hollygraziano on 04/01/2015

I just purchased a genesis coupe 2.0T premium package. I love the car and had the best experience. Tim Yancy did an amazing job informing me of the vehicle and between him and the finance department I got the best deal around. I searched for months and Jerry's Hyundai in Weatherford surpassed them all. Above and beyond. Thank you Tim.

Is this the worst Hyundai Dealership in the world?

by achalk1 on 05/24/2014

IS THIS THE WORST HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN THE WORLD? I have been helping my girlfriend get the best deal on a new car. She wants a Hyundai Elantra GT, so I got myself a temporary e-mail address (necessary, as I have found auto dealers regard legally mandatory “unsubscribe” links in e-mails as either voluntary or just decoration), conjured up a fake name to prevent spam, went on to Edmunds.com and put out a request for quotes. Edmunds sends your request to four dealers of its choice. Unfortunately, it does not allow you to customize the message to, for example, help the dealer with exact requirements, etc. Fortunately, the system does generate a reply e-mail from each dealer with a real human e-mail address. I got my four replies into a GMail list and sent them my “real” requirements so that the dealers would not be wasting their time sending me quotes for the wrong thing. Here it is: Dear Hyundai Dealer: You just received a request for a quote from me via Edmunds.com. Unfortunately, that web site appears to have been designed by someone with an internal head injury so it makes your job and mine more difficult. Here is the full information that I would have sent you had the Edmunds site let me: I am seeking a quote on a new Hyundai Elantra GT: Color: Titanium Transmission: Manual Packages: Style+Tech Transaction type: Purchase (not lease). Financing: 0% offer currently in effect. Credit rating: 800+. Need to buy immediately. Method of contact: e-mail only. Will test drive at the dealership best offer. Regards, Rusty Cox The above description uniquely identifies a vehicle in the Hyundai product range (except that there are two interior color options, and I did not specify which -- but this was no big deal as we would accept either). Note the word ‘new’ in bold type (as it was in the original e-mail). It will prove important later on. The replies came back as soon as the business day started. One was from Ed G. at Jerry’s Hyundai in Weatherford. He said: Rusty- 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT, Manual Transmission, Style Pkg, Tech Pkg, Titanium Gray exterior. If I can get the car, $22867 less any applicable rebates, plus TT&L. Available rebates: $500 Hyundai Owner Loyalty or $500 Hyundai Competitive Vehicle, $1500 Hyundai Finance or 0% for 60 mos (wac), $500 military discount. If you're having trouble finding the car you want, I do have this car in stock. He also sent me this link. Lest there be any doubt, it describes the car, on the first line, as ‘new’. This sounded like the best offer. Weatherford was the furthest dealership from my house (58 miles) that Edmunds had allotted me but maybe lower costs of doing business there enabled them to offer lower prices. I made an appointment for a test drive for 2pm Saturday. On Saturday, we were running 20 minutes late leaving for the appointment so I called and spoke with Ed G. and checked that the car was still available (it was). I told him first, that I was leaving downtown Dallas at 1:25pm and expected the journey to take about an hour. No problem he said. Second, I asked him to call me on my cell number if the car was sold while i was in transit so that I could turn around and head home. My spec. was exact and Jerry’s only had one example in stock, so there was no point going there if this specific car had already been sold. When we arrived at the dealership Ed G. was busy and assigned us to another sales representative. No problem. It turned out that the car we had come to see was in the process of being shown to someone else but this substitute rep., a young friendly guy named Andrew, offered to let us test drive another car. It had a lower spec. level, but would give us an idea of things like ride and road feel. It turned out that the substitute car was hemmed in between other cars in the parking lot and Andrew had trouble locating the keys for those. I spent the time in the waiting room reading a glossy, 54 page full-color brochure about “Jerry Durant Auto Group”. It turns out Jerry Durant Auto Group has a mission statement that “(it)...will provide the very best sales and service to our customers” and “Policy Statements”, including one on business ethics. It simply gushed with information about how the golden rule at Jerry’s was treating every customer like he would like to be treated, and went on at length about Jerry’s charitable work. All this, it reveals on the last page, is because God has a job for Jerry. I also found in the brochure that Jerry has paid Ed G.’s paycheck for five years. We waited about an hour before anything happened. Then we test-drove the substitute car and returned to the dealership for another long wait of sitting around. Eventually, I located Ed G. and got him to show us the car that we had come to see. My girlfriend sat in the driver seat and said “why does it have 6,000 miles on it, it is supposed to be new?”. I thought she had mis-read the odometer but looked across and, sure enough, it had over 6,000 miles on it. I looked at Gentry who said “It was a demonstrator”. I reminded him that I had explicitly said new cars in my e-mail. He looked at me with a straight face and said “It’s never been registered”. Now, there may be a law pushed through a legislature funded by auto industry political donations that allows a demonstrator to be considered new if it has never been registered, but there isn’t a single car shopper on the face of the earth who thinks that. This car had been driven by hundreds, possibly thousands of people for a year, almost all sitting in an Elantra for the first time. This was a used car. When I pointed out to G. that he been told we was driving from Dallas but had misled us to drive 120 miles round trip, he had a totally vacant expression on his face. I wondered to myself what the Ethics Policy Statement had said? If God, Durant’s inspiration, had been selling cars at Jerry’s that afternoon, would he have called this car ‘new’? If ethical standards were a medical condition, Ed G. would be diagnosed clinically dead. I think that he knew exactly what I meant when I said new (in bold type) in my e-mail. But thought that if he got me to drive nearly 60 miles to his dealership, I would settle for a second-hand car. What was he thinking? In an error of judgement, we gave G. the opportunity to redeem himself by upping the the value on our trade-in. He didn’t do so and we left, having wasted four and a half hours, including the two hours travel time. When I bought a Hyundai two years ago (using the same Internet-first procedure, but from a different dealer) I didn’t have any problems with the salesperson understanding common words like ‘new’. In fact, when the trunk had a problem in the first week of ownership, that dealer felt so responsible that they drove a substitute car (and an Equus no less!) to my office as a loaner while they took my Genesis back for investigation. The experience with that car was one factor making us decide to look for another Hyundai. However, I won’t be shopping at Jerry Durant for Hyundai or anything else in future.

Best car buying experience ever!!

by mavsfan4life1 on 03/27/2013

My salesman, Daniel, was very very well mannered and treated us great! He was very understanding of our situation and made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way. Never thought I'd actually have fun buying a vehicle but he made it a great experience! I will never buy a vehicle from anyone else! Make sure you ask for Daniel C. if you make it out to their dealership. By far the best, most polite salesman I have ever had.

Surprisingly - No Interest In My Business

by coldrink on 09/13/2011

I was in the market for a new Hyundai. I just knew this was the dealership where I would purchase it. To be on the safe side, I sent a request for a quote to sveral Hyudai dealers within 50 miles of me. Jerry's is about 20 miles away. I detailed exacltly the Hyundai Santa Fe I wanted. The model I wanted. The options I wanted in it. The color...all the specifics. I heard from several dealers in my area. From Jerry's Hyundai Sales, I received an e-mail from the sales manager. It mentioned not one thing about the vehicle I wanted. It was evidently a stock e-mail they send out. If so, I don't see how they do any internet business. The e-mail said something like "Thank you for your interest in Jerry's Hyundai's. We have lots of nice Hyundai Santa Fe's on the lot. Come on out, I am sure you will find one that you will love". I had been by there two days earlier and they only had two 2012 models on the lot and neither had the V6 engine, I wanted, in them. I thought they would be like the other dealers and look around for what I was in the market for, but they didn't. Just shows when you have that much business, you don't have to worry about a single sale. Glad they are doing that well. Shows the economy is better than I thought.

Wow. This was easier than I expected.

by lochlaer on 04/23/2011

My wife and I have been planning to buy our first new car for at least a year. We knew what we wanted (Hyundai Elantra Touring GLS) It was just a matter of finding what we wanted for the right price. I had read many reviews for the Hyundai dealers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and I was impressed by the consistently positive reviews I read for Jerry's Hyundai of Weatherford. But it was an awfully long way to go, when there are so many other Hyundai dealers in the area. However, this first car buying experience has taught me a lot. I actually came very close to a deal with a couple of other dealers. But in each case, I had to ask multiple times for the answers to some very simple, but important questions. And in each case, the deal was broken when the car turned out not to be what I told the salesman I was looking for, or the final price included some surprise options that increased the price. Very aggravating. And it's really boggling that so many so-called "Internet Sales Managers" can't seem to communicate effectively by e-mail. I expanded my search radius a bit and found a very good offer from Ed Gentry at Jerry's Hyundai. He answered all of my questions by e-mail, if not immediately, then at least by the end of the day. And his offer was hundreds of dollars better than other north Texas dealers. When we arrived, he had the car ready and guided us on a test drive that covered all the bases. We had driven the Elantra Touring before at another dealership, so we already had some experience and knew that we liked it. So the test drive was really a formality to make sure that the actual car in question had no obvious problems. After returning to the dealership, I took a quick look under the hood (I've never owned a clean, new engine before.) and checked out the interior. Then I verified that the price he quoted me was correct. It was, so we had a deal, and we went inside to sign the papers. We had our own financing through our credit union. But Gwen Damato, the business manager, offered to try and get us a better interest rate through Hyundai financing. She also told us about the extended warranty. We declined both, and she didn't argue. She also didn't try to push any other additional products. I really appreciated that, because we didn't want anything else, and I didn't want to have to argue about paint "sealant" or cargo nets or any of the other potential add-ons some dealers try to sell you. In short, we were very pleased with the whole experience, from start to finish. It was a long drive out there, but actually a very pretty one, once we got past Ft. Worth. I would recommend this dealer and our salesman to anyone wanting to buy a Hyundai. The only suggestion I would make is that if you are at all sensitive to chemical smells, make sure you ask them NOT to detail the interior of a car you're planning to buy. When they brought our Touring back from being washed and detailed, the chemical odor was waaay beyond what we usually think of as "new car smell." I don't know what they use in there, but a week later (including about four days straight in our garage with the windows rolled down), it's still really strong. I've started leaving a large dish of baking soda in the car to see if that helps. Other than that one small thing, I give this dealer five stars.

I will have to tell you that my wife and I was not looking forward to buying a new car or any car for the matter because we all know that there are a lot of "BAD" sales people out here. I did contact a dealer- ship in Weatherford called Jerry's Hyundai and I will tell you that those guy over there knows how to do business and I mean real business, the type you use to receive back in the days. We had dealings with Roger (Hyundai King) Doyle, he is the Internet Manager and I see why they call him the King, because you really knows how to treat a customer, very professional. We really enjoyed the experience with Roger. I could go on and on about all the great way Roger done business, not hassle pricing, was a man of his word, and just a all around nice guy and business. We will be doing business with Roger in those guys over at Jerry's in the future and telling anyone that think they want to buy a car to make the drive and get treated like you have never been treated, in a great way that is. Keep up the good work guys.

Jerry's Hyundai is GREAT.

by charlie45 on 11/01/2008

I dealt with Rodger Doyle at Jerry' Hyundai in Weatherford tx. and bought a new car with absolutly no pressure or "Dealer" tactics to inflate the price. I would recomend anyone shopping for a car, not to waste time at other dealerships and get all flustered with their sales teams when you can go to a dealership that is laid back, and not trying to talk you into anything. I was very pleased with my dealings with Rodger and would recommend him as well as Jerry's dealership. Well Worth the drive.I got a fair price { I stole it } and beat other dealers price quite a bit. Any way, dealing with them was a pleasure. You should not pass them up when you go shopping.
