Inept Finance Dept

Salesman was knowledgeable and very helpful. The financing took much longer than it should have. I was going from buying to leasing and negative equity had to be worked out which supposedly had. Two weeks later I log into my credit union account and find out the loan still has not been paid off and my payment is going to be late. I call the dealership and the inform me there were issues and the loan still had not been processed and I would need to come in and resign all the paperwork. I also had to get new 30 day tags and registration which I was never given the first time. Supposedly I was also called by service to come and get a new key which did not happen. I have already filled out the survey for the salesman but had I known I would have to deal with all these issues several weeks later my scores would not be what they were.

This experience was outstanding from the General Manager, the Salesman, the financial person all the way down to the person who prepared the vehicle for delivery to me. They were very helpful in guiding me through the entire purchasing process, answering all the questions that I had. They were also very knowledgeable in handling my trade in vehicle. This was also a Dodge Dakota that I previously purchased from this dealer. Over all this was a very pleasant experience.

This place is terrible

I recently moved to the area and live just across the street from this dealership. My 2011 grand cherokee developed a leak in the front end. I took it in and they diagnosed and repaired the problem. Upon pick up I noticed the front fender wells and bumper had been removed for the repair, but none of the hardware was put bak in the correctly, all the screws were missing the entire length of front fender wells and bumper. The sales associate acted SO annoyed that I even noticed this and had requested him to make sure all the parts that were supposed to be in place were in place. The associate advised I would have to stay for the remainder of the day if I wanted to have this corrected OR I could just schedule ANOTHER service appointment and they would repair it next time. The guy was entire [non-permissible content removed], the overall repair cost $2000. I'm not balking at the cost but the experience was terrible. For my last service I took the Jeep to Safford in Springfield VA which was a little further drive but the experience was as expected, friendly and courteous, and what was supposed to be done was done without hesitation.

Home of the 3 hour oil change

The website says that the service department opens at 7am. To avoid a lot of traffic, get up early, leave the house early and get to Ourisman by 6:20am. I'm the first in line. I wait outside until Service opens the door at 7am. I roll in, get out of the jeep, wait for the service guy to finish playing with the paperwork in his hand. The I tell him I'd like an oil change and tire rotation. He says that his maintenance crew doesn't start until 8am. Annoyed, I say ok, and he says that the good news is that I'll be first in line for an oil change at 8am. I also point out that I have an oil change coupon at home but forgot to bring it. He says he'll take care of it. So, my bad for not calling ahead to verify when the maintenance guys actually start. 7:30am comes and goes, 8am comes and goes, 8:30am comes and goes, 8:40am I stroll over to the counter and ask for an update on my Jeep. They say they don't have an update and I need to go talk to the guy in the bay (where I was initially checked in). So, I trundle on over, on the way noticing that my Jeep is outside the maintenance bay, and ask the guy who first received me how my Jeep is coming along. He looks at his computer, then says wait a sec. Walks over to the other side, checks some paper, then walks back and says they haven't started on it yet. Surprised and now very annoyed, I ask, so, your maintenance guys don't actually start oil changes at 8am? He says, the other service rep hit print before I did and the guy behind you got his at 8am, and you're next. Very annoyed, I walk away and wait some more. 5 minutes later a different guy (carwash guy) pops his head in the waiting room and asks if I have time for a car wash. I say sure, figuring he's going to get it done while they wait for the maintenance guy to finish the car in front of me. 9:20am - I'm told my Jeep is done. I walk over to the counter to pay and the lady hands me someone else's paperwork and the carwash guy hands me someone else's key. I say, that's not my key, and pointing to the paperwork say that's not me. Then I see them pull my Jeep into the outbound lane of the service bay (this means done). So I point to my Jeep and say "that's mine." The lady says it will be just a minute for the paperwork. 9:30am - I get the paperwork, look it over and notice that I didn't get the coupon price. So, I ask about it and the lady goes out to service bay, then comes back about 10 minutes later with the corrected invoice (happy that didn't turn into a hassle). So I sign and pay, and ask "so, are the keys in my Jeep" to which she replies "yes". I walk over to the service bay, no Jeep. I think they must have moved it outside, so I step outside, but still no Jeep. I go back in and ask where my Jeep is, and they run around for a minute, then call some guy. Seems they took it for a car wash. The guy driving it is in line at a point where he can no longer drive away, so it's going to be another 10 minutes. No biggie, I've already been here for 3 hours, what's another 10 minutes. It's not like I had anything better to do today... Oh wait, there was, but now that plan is completely shot. Thanks Ourisman. Last time I ever go to Ourisman Chrysler in Alexandria for any kind of service. I will instead drive the extra distance to find a different dealership with a decent service department. I will pay extra just to avoid having to deal with this dealership ever again.

I made a service appointment because the transmission on my 3 year old truck was not shifting. On Sept 3rd I dropped my truck which I purchased new from Ourisman at the service department. This forced me to get a rental car. After several days of not hearing anything, I called for an update. I was told that the truck hadn't been looked at yet. Seven days later, I came in and was told that they only had one transmission guy and they hadn't been able to look at it. I was told not to worry about the rental car because the service manager was going to personally handle my problem. Two weeks after dropping it off, I was told that the transmission would require a rebuild (at 19000 miles) and it was covered under warranty so not to worry. When I got called by the service rep on the 23rd and was told that my truck was ready, I asked him how I should proceed with the rental ( after 20 days) and was told he knew nothing and that I needed to pay for the rental. After leaving two voice messages for the Service Manager and sending the dealership an email, I am still waiting for a response. This will be my last Ourisman vehicle. We made a purchase through the Military New Car Sales program and made arrangements to pick it up at Oirisman. We made an appointment over two weeks in advance however, I don't think that meant anything to them. The vehicle was not even on the lot when we arrived. It wasn't washed or ready in anyway. When we arrived at the dealership, we had to remind them why we even had the appointment. It took almost two hours for the vehicle to arrive, from a garage they said was only 15 minutes away. We were the first appointment of the day too. The paperwork took about 20 minutes and we spent the rest of the time waiting. While waiting, the same salesperson asked us three times what he could help us with. Once the vehicle arrived, it had zero gas. Now it is a month later and a day out from the temporary tags expiring. They called us four working days prior to the expiration date to get some required information from us to process the tags. I don't recommend this dealership due to the lack of professional service from the staff. I have used the Military Car Sales program before at a different dealership and the process was a lot smoother. You can get better customer care elsewhere.

Explained to salesman options that were wanted on the new car, but was put into vehicle that did not meet all criteria and was promised things that could not be delivered after deal was completed. Make sure you receive everything in writing from your salesman as they do not follow through with what they tell you. In addition, be aware of extra charges, since they like to sneak them in. Very misleading and dishonest group of people.

Dave E. runs a good shop there at Ourisman. Sometimes wait times become a bit lengthy but they provide you with a status, estimates to price are reasonable and work seems to be performed correctly in my experiences there. I had an issue with the CD player/hard drive where it stopped reading CDs. The original dealership I had taken the vehicle to could not determine the issue and wouldn't replace the unit under warranty though Ourisman did both diagnose the issue and did replace the original CD player/hard-drive. I could go on, but I am pleased overall with this service shop.

Text of letter I sent them: My 2001 PT Cruiser was serviced by you on May 12, 20xx (copy of receipt enclosed). You advised me that in addition to the work performed the car also needed “plug tube seals” at a cost of $426 and a tune-up at $250 (please see note in your handwriting on the receipt). As you explained to me you found oil leaking into the sparkplugs. You said that it wouldn’t make sense to do the tune-up without replacing the seals because the problem would still be there. Because of the expense of the recommended work I obtained a second opinion from another highly respected mechanic. Together we accessed the sparkplug tubes. Here’s what we found: Nothing. They were immaculate. No trace of oil. All four were clean and dry. I’m hoping that you can explain this apparent discrepancy so that we can clear up any misunderstanding. Also I refer you to job #5 regarding the rear center link. As of Tuesday May 25, 20xx, a mere 13 days after the car was in your custody, I can no longer get the transmission into reverse. I’m sure that this is a coincidence, but because you performed such a meticulous inspection of the car I’m surprised you might have missed something like this. I’m hoping that you can explain. I never heard back.

Have a Jeep took in for service still not fixed after 2 weeks - they still can not disgnose problem. They think it is one thing fix it then problem soes not go away. The worse repair experince in my over 40 years of driving. Save yourself some hardship go to another Jeep dealer for service.

OMG I got the best deal on a car ever with a great interest rate, gap coverage, EVERYTHING!!! I'm so happy with my vehicle. It's beautiful, all of my maintenance is going to be taken care of, their location in Alexandria is right by my work providing much convenience for routine servicing. The monthly payments are very reasonable, the staff is very, very friendly & helpful, as they are renovating a little bit right now. I found the staff to be very knowledgable, especially Brandon Cooke & James Hottle. They explained everything to me step by step so that I understood exactly what I was getting, what I needed & what I didn't, etc. Everyone I know cannot believe how great of a vehicle & warranty I got for the price. I definitely recommend this dealership to everyone I know & will send everyone their way. Ask for Brandon. He's great. I give them 10 Stars instead of 5!!!

WOMAN BEWARE/ R DON'T GO THERE

I got an oil change, I called back to tell them my oil light was on my Chrysler 300, they said all it probably need to be reset itself don't, mind you my oil light wasn't on when I brought it to them or leaking any oil! Well I travel, I have several car and really to drive the 300 because I live with 600 feet of my job on wkend I go to NY via sub to chinese bus! Now this 1 day I have to go to grocery my check engine light is on my oil is ding ding ding, I call the dealer ship, from the time they have change the oil it hasn't ever the car doesn't even have hardley no miles on its, not I'm stuck with having to pay ofr the diagnosis, and the updateing of software, because 60,000 mile warranty has just expired! I call Chrysler Warranty department they honor my expired warrenty for repair some I had a 110.00 decuctible for my service contract but was still charge the110 for diagnosis, when I picked the car oill light came on, and I was toldit just need to be reset, to find out it some type damage to the oil pan causing a leak all of sudden! I still say it something that they did dealer do that for $$$$$$$$$!

I own a 2002 Dodge Neon and there are only a select few that I trust with my baby. Finding a good mechanic for your car is like finding a good daycare for your kids. Your lives and the lives of your family are in the hands of your mechanic. For years I have been having Rico, Carlos, and Elvis work on my cars. They have several decades of experience between the three. From keys being programmed, to wheel cylinders to timing jobs those guys in service have helped me in a timely fashion. I have not had any problems except for wear and tear through the years and nothing they couldn't fix on the first try. The Parts Department was efficient. Even if they didn't have a part in stock they would pick one up so I wouldn't be without my car if I didn't have to be. Granted, some parts did have to come from a warehouse, but they showed up next day just like that. Dennis really takes care of me. I was so disgusted by the previous reviews that I had to make my repeat business known. They service so many vehicles every month, but you don't think of all those happy customers when you see two reviews from years ago. Two bad apples should not spoil the bunch. Everything can not be perfect 100% of the time. But I have never been disappointed with a visit to Ourisman.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where should I start?

I recently purchased a 2008 Jeep Liberty from this dealership. Not to many days after driving the truck I noticed a roaring sound and a serious jerking from the truck. I called the dealership and drove it in to the service department to have someone check for the issue. While my truck was in the shop I was in the service shop I was told told that it needed to be reprogrammed(computer). I was told that this should fix the problem, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A few days later the truck started doing the same thing all over so I called the service department again. This time when I dropped off my truck I was told that several techs had driven it and also the service manager but they didn't feel what I was feeling nor did they hear the noise I was hearing! Here's the the thing, while in the shop the second time I was called and told not to return the rental car. I began to get upset and said what now? I was then told that one of the porters who was moving another customers vehicle hit that car into my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I'm pissed.They tell me to come out and look at damages to my truck and they wouod(they being the sevice department) would take care of all charges, not to worry. So my truck stays in the shop even longer. This time when I get my truck after sevices are done I drive it again only to have it do the same thing again. Later that evening I was driving to my boyfriends church in clinton md to find that my truck is stalling and not moving as I step on the gas. I get to church and tell my boyfriend that the truck is now smoking and not driving right. He suggest that I call the dealership and let them know that when we get outta church Im going to drop it off and I dont want it back until its repaired 100%. When church was over and we were on our way to the dealership the truck would'nt start. Now I call AAA and they tell me that it'll be about 45 minutes for a tow to get to me and be there waitin. The next morning when we get out to dealership they tell me that desiel gas had gotten mixed in with my gas and thats what caused it not to start. The service department per the district service managers approval(thank god for him) had them to replace evrything at no charge to me. He said that things like this happens, sometimes certain gas stations have cheap gas and it probably got mixed in. y this time I was just sadden. When I picked my truck up again a few days later it started acting up. I called a third time and this time I was told that the head manager from chrysler was going to come down and test drive the truck with me. When myself ,the manager and my boyfriend test drove the truck immediatly my truck jerked and as we proceeded to drive it started roaring and jerking. Immediatly he said that there's no possible way that anyone could have driven my truck and not felt and heard those issues.We then returned to the dealer and he told them( the service manager) what he felt the problem was (the torque converter)and they were to replace it at no charge to me. So again my truck in back in the service department.By this time Im in anaother renatl car and disturbed about my two month old truck having so many issues. My truck stayed in the shop again for several days and finally I got a call saying your truck is ready and you can pick it up. Well I did just that and guess what it's been about two weeks and the truck is doing the same thing. After I was told that it was driving good and not to worry everything was fine! LIES all LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My truck is still jerking and roaring and now I have to go back up to the sevice department again this saturday! I have to be honest in saying that the head distric manager for dhyrsler is great and HONEST to be exact and I thank Good for that. You know when someone is buying a new vehicle or has purchased a new vehicle the last thing they want to think ABOUT IS HAVING TO RIP AND RUN BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN A TWO MONTH TIME PERIOD!
