Clouding over the truth equals a lie

by billybob on 02/03/2017

I made a mistake and would and can't do much about it now. The deed is done, but passing along my info to potential customers. To boil it down, I was given numbers on a vehicle and involved was a trade. There was an incentive from the corporation for $1400 if you had a trade. I knew this going in and it was already accounted for in the discounts . I just wanted to hear the exact amount that my trade would be allowed. But when the salesman came back with a trade quote he did some sly math and added the corp incentive with the actual trade allowance and he said I was getting a trade of $1900 (1400 + 500) when it was really only $500. Never once did he say I was just getting just $500. If I would have realized this deception I would have left. Shame on me for not looking at the numbers better. But SHAME on the underhanded use of math to do a slick sell job. I have learned my lesson and will check out who I deal with and have someone along to check the numbers. I will not be using this dishonest dealership again.

lied about service wont fix a car that was purchased 2 weeks ago

by upsetbuyer2 on 03/04/2014

Purchased a used wrx for over 17 grand with the extended warranty and dealer warranty. We were told we could take it to any Chrysler dealer for service. We live 2 and half hours away and they knew that. Two weeks latter the clutch went out . They refused to do anything about it other then tell us to bring it to them. How are we suppose to drive a broken vehicle 2 and a half hours with a broken clutch to them. They never told us if we had a problem under the initial warranty we would have to come to them. This was not honest and deceptive in order to make a sale.

****BUYER BEWARE****

by sonyam1 on 12/02/2013

We purchased a used Dodge Journey from Solomon on a Friday at 4pm. Within 30 minutes of the purchase, we were back at the dealer because the front brake system locked up. Because it was Friday at 4pm, they were not interested in diagnosing the problem or even looking at the vehicle until Monday morning. It is now Tuesday morning and we still have not been able to take possession of the car. We are being told that parts had to be ordered and that they didn't come in yet. We are still waiting on the car to be repaired. They did provide us with a loaner car on Friday afternoon. Saturday morning it had a flat tire and we noticed that the gas tank was EMPTY. When I called to speak to Brian S about this, he became irate when I told him how unsatisfied we were. We are actually considering returning the car and going to another dealership. We put a $2700 down payment toward the car and they have already cashed that check. We feel that a good gesture would have been to refund half of our down payment. They could incur the cost of that themselves, for the amount of trouble and poor service that they have shown us. To top it all off, the owner had the nerve to call me and tell me that they had done all they could do for me and then when I didn't agree, he THREATENED to bill me for the parts and labor that it cost to repair the car from the original problem! Stay away from these people!!!

Don't shop at Solomon Chrysler Dodge and Jeep.

by ihatedodge1 on 05/17/2008

This was overall the worst car buying experience of my life. The salesman who is actually one of the owners lied about many of the financials of the deal and after the papers were drawn my husband and I read them over and confronted him about the deceptions. He lied about paying off our trade in, lied about the free rust proofing and lied about the price of the new car. When confronted he became belligerent and threatened us to "think twice about walking out on the deal". I have turned them into the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, Attorney General and Dodge Corporation. I have also retained an attorney. We ended up signing the papers and fighting for the money on the tail end in order to avoid a bigger dramatic display. We found out later that he ran our credit through at least 12 different banks. There may be more because the letters are still coming. He also applied us for a credit card without our ok. Looking back I should have called the police. Please save yourself and your money and shop for a new car somewhere other than Solomon Chrysler Dodge and Jeep.
