Bait and switch, lied about delivery

My daughter and son-in-law went to Basil Chevrolet in mid-September to buy a 2024 Trax. They had none onsite so they put a deposit on one that was "in transit" and was told it would be there in six weeks. Eight weeks later, no Trax and my son-in-law calls to inquire and they tell him "I don't know who told you six weeks, that vehicle won't be here until February." WHAT? When they left the deposit they were told it was built and only needed to be transported from overseas. NOW Basil also gave them some BS about the autoworkers strike affecting delivery. These vehicles are produced in South Korea and those facilities are NOT affected by any labor movement in the U.S. Plus like I stated earlier, they were told the vehicle WAS ALREADY BUILT and only needed to be transported. This whole ordeal has been a total waste of time for my kids and this dealership should be ASHAMED that they LIED to a customer who went there in good faith. Now they are tap dancing around fact and fiction when clearly either the salesperson did not know what they were doing or the dealership parceled off the vehicle meant for my kids to somebody else. Either way, they will get no more business from any of my family and I will make it a mission to let everyone I know how they operate.

Basil is usually great and dependable but for whatever reason I’ve had additional service issues that weren’t happening before dropping off my vehicle(s)for another issue. Power steering, gas lines, etc. Hopefully it’s a coincidence as I have three vehicles regularly serviced as the location. Basil is my go to and I’ve spent thousands so I hope they’re not taking liberties. It’d be nice if they actually offered me a discount here or there considering all the business I do with them. I may look elsewhere in the future but good service is hard to find.

We came to Basil Trucks to buy our 2022 Express 3500 van b/c they got back to us right away with honest answers to all our questions. Carl worked with us to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted and never pressured or upsold anything. Carl was up front about what the van was going to cost us out the door and how long it would take for us to take delivery. We had no surprises and paid what we were told and got it when we were told.

These guys were so great about getting me in and out with a trade and a purchase. This was particularly good because I live in Rochester, and wasn't able to get there until 5:30pm. By roughly 7:00pm I was driving away in my new Jeep Wrangler. Also, they gave me way more for my trade than any other dealer had offered! Kudos to Derrick and the whole team. Happy to finally be driving my dream car!
