European delivery has been great!

Brian Markulin did a wonderful job setting us up with our European delivery and following up with us along the way. We are having an amazing time driving our car around Germany and can't wait to get it home.

BMW of Fairfax = worst dealership ever

Worst dealership. They love you when you're dropping $$$, but when it comes to Takata's airbag recall, they dropped the ball not once, not twice, but three times. After calling on multiple occasions to get my driver airbag replaced because of a safety recall, they told me on 3 separate occasions that the part had been ordered and they would call me when it arrived for replacement. After 3 months, and calling each month to check, without it arriving but them assuring me that it was just taking a long time, I call today and they now tell me there is no record of them having ordered the part for my car. But they offer to order the part today. Yeah, that's a lot of help while I've been driving a car with a potentially faulty airbag. I'm taking my business elsewhere and will tell anyone I can that BMW of Fairfax is the worst BMW dealership. Customer satisfaction = 0. Thanks BMW of Fairfax for nothing.

Great service at BMW of Fairfax

As always, there is great service at BMW of Fairfax. Great communication about what's to happen. Service specialists manage customers' expectations well (wait time, price, etc). Although I have a BMW dealer minutes from my house, I drive out of my way to take my BMW to BMW of Fairfax, because of the exemplary service.

3-hour wait for an Oil Change & Worst Service Rep.

May 2, 2017: BACKGROUND: 1st time I serviced my car at "BMW of Fairfax". I arrived punctually to my 9 am appointment for an oil change and multi-point inspection I was lured to by their online coupon. I always service my BMW at another dealer in the area but they did not want to honor the coupon. In hindsight I would have preferred to pay the extra money for a better experience. SHORT VERSION: Waited ~3 hours for a simple oil change, received passive-aggressive treatment and worst-ever customer service by the so-called "service advisor". Service Manager helped at the end but the damaged was already done. LONG VERSION (if you want to read the details): After waiting at their customer lounge for 2 hours without any update I located the "service advisor" I was assigned, he checked and stated they needed 20-30 more minutes, that they were draining the oil and they would wash the car after that. After 45 more minutes he showed up, stated that my car was ready, took me to the cashier, handed her the paperwork and only said "Thank you" and started to walk back to his office. No explanation/details on the multi-point inspection. No apologies for the delay. I said "Three hours for an oil-change?". He immediately got upset and said let's see if it were 3 hours, got the paperwork back and circled the times recorded on them and said something like "it was not 3 hours". Apparently they opened the service at 10:30 not 9:00 when I arrived. He did not give me a chance to react and ran to his desk. When I noticed the issue on the times on the invoice, I went to his desk and pointed out that clearly my car and I were there for the first 1.5 hours just doing nothing. He only said "ok, thank you". I was very calm today and did not want to say what that person really deserved to hear and on my way back to the cashier I asked for the Service Manager. I explained the situation to the Manager, he was understanding, apologized to me, stated that almost 3-hour wait for an oil change is not typical nor acceptable and that he would talk to the service advisor. Since there was nothing he could do to change the past, he offered to at no charge, get the code for a check engine light that coincidentally went on while driving to the dealer. At 9 am when I mentioned about the light to the service advisor, he said that he would have to charge me the $175 diagnostic fee. I did not order the diagnostic because I suspected it was related with the Gas Filler Cap left loose by a gas station attendant in New Jersey over the weekend. It turned out that I was right. I left the dealer in good terms with the Service Manager but extremely frustrated by the whole experience.

Are my interests being served or are your?

I'm an old fashioned person. If I take a car in to be serviced I would like that to be done. These days I feel like this service department is more concerned with finding more things wrong with my car to run up my bill. Two months ago an oil service turned into an additional $1400.00. Last week a failed alternator turned into an additional $2000.00 of "needed" repairs. I am sure that the party line would be that my safety and vehicle well being are the core of this. But I feel when a car is brought in for service the technician is charged with finding as many more questionable items for repairs possible knowing that the shop standards for needed repair are very much lower than the average vehicle owner. The work is done very well and the people are very nice but it is very expensive to deal with this dealer. Even more so when every time you come and additional and expensive laundry list is added.

2005 BMW 645i Service

Service opened early, service manager Frankie Johnson took charge, inspection and service were completed expeditiously. New rear tire, brake fluid replaced according to recommendation, vehicle check completed and car was washed and dried as I picked it up.

We were a walk-in not previously scheduled. The service tech was initially very friendly and enthusiastic. However when it came time to sign off on the bill he went out of his way rudely to mention we were a bit early for regularly scheduled service

Scheduled Maintena

I arrived a few minutes prior to my appointment and was immediately taken care by my technician Jerrell Latham. I was also given a loaner which I requested for my appointment. This really allowed me to run other errands while my car was being serviced. It was an excellent day.

Only BMW Service I trust in the DMV

I have fired several other BMW dealerships in the past because of poor performance; however, I have been with Fairfax BMW for the last five years and continue going back, largely due to Konrad Malinowski's dedicated efforts to always deliver what he promises. Service was prompt and efficient, customer waiting area is very nice, to include a small "café" where you can actually order hot breakfast and lunch. Only drawback is the price, but that's what you get when you go to a dealer; however, I know I'm getting quality parts and knowledgeable service--something I can't say elsewhere.

I decided to stay with BMW Fairfax for a second time in four years time since they are the most reliable dealership that I have encountered. James Duerbeck is truly an exceptional sales person as he clearly knows the ultimate driving machine inside out. The high level of professionalism and expertise was commendable. We were offered the most competitive quote. Purchase experience was stress-free, enjoyable and transparent. I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

Never had a bad experience here. I have 4 older and newer BMWs and take all of them to BMW of Fairfax. One may think why pay the higher labor rates. In actuality, BMW of Fairfax labor rates are within a few dollars of any of the independent BMW specialist repair shops that I have checked in my area. I used to take my cars to independent shops, but while their labor rates have been rising every year, BMW of Fairfax labor rates have stayed pretty steady. On top of that they do excellent work and warranty it for 2 years, instead of the usual 1 year. Andreea my service adviser always is a pleasure to work with and very straight forward and honest. Suggest getting on the dealership's mailing list, because they send you great repair and service offers. I also while waiting use their their WIFI to get work done, and they offer free refreshments. Overall very happy with my decision.
