Poor detailing, shoddy paperwork, disappoint experience

by Myself1984 on 01/28/2015

Overall disappointing experience, I expected more from a high-end brand dealership. I guess I was just naiive and should have expected the same as I did when I bought my first $3000 car from a dealership in a shack, then I wouldn't have been disappointed. May also be because I just bought a 20K trade-in they didn't make a lot money on and didn't expect to come back for services. "Real" BMW customers may have a better experience. Bought a used vehicle (not a BMW, was a trade in) from them. Asked during test drive if there was more than the one key, salesman told me he'd check. Didn't hear anything about it until day of closing the sale, when he tells me previous owner still had other keys to the car. Would have like to know this before closing. They did contact previous owner and got the keys to me a week later. Car was shoddily detailed (thick layer of dust and "stuff" on dash board etc), was promised they'd redo the detailing before I took possession of car, car still had dirt all over dashboard, dirt on panels etc. I bought the vehicle in December, come early January received a call that they had gotten the original mileage on the title documents wrong, fair enough, I called and left a message with the miles at time of sale as requested. Then got a text a week later asking for current miles, texted him back with current ODO reading, was told to expect title middle to late January. Still hadn't heard anything by 1/26. Sent email asking for update and did receive phone call 1/28 with apology and that it was now up to state to issue title. Also, during test drive I noticed rattle noise from the back, salesman told me it was the dealer plate rattling and that it did it all the time - I had to trust him since I couldn't remove it during the test drive and rattle only occurred at hwy speed. As I drove away from dealership after taking possession rattle was still there. Sun-roof is also leaking, I guess that wasn't part of their multi-point pre-sales inspection they touted.

Buyer Beware! - Check out the local competition.

by nathanc22 on 08/05/2013

the service department leaves much to be desired. Think very carefully before taking your car to this place for service. There is a reason the competition service shops are busy, meanwhile Peterson can can fit you in pretty much any time. A repair that should've taken an afternoon took them 4 days, they said it was because they only had one person in the shop that could do my repair. Immediately after repair was complete the car was trying to overheat. I think they made a mistake while doing my repair and I believe they won't own up to it. I suspect they didn't bleed the coolant system after the repair. But I can't prove they made the mistake and they can't prove they didn't. I operate my company in the sort of way that the tie goes to the customer; I prefer to do business with people that do the same. In my opinion they don't stand behind their repairs and I don't feel like I was treated fairly or they were trustworthy. For warranty repairs, where your manufacturer is billed, I am sure they are great. All others, look elsewhere. Buyer Beware!

Terrific Client Experience

by carros64 on 08/21/2012

The service that I received from Rich Snider at Peterson BMW was terrific. Rich took care of my every need. He was extremely accommodating, quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. Rich really understand the client experience… He even made himself available on his day off! I haven’t met a sales advisor as diligent and good as Rich in a long time. I would highly recommend him and Peterson BMW of Boise.

Best service dept I have dealt with

by baptizedss on 08/21/2010

Peterson BMW is a small dealership but is big on people skills! Curtis Pratt is very helpful and so down to earth that I feel bad for keeping him from his work while we chat about nothing in particular. I have called him on several occasions and told him what I was experiencing and looking for an appt to bring it in but he asks me the right questions and lets me know exactly what is happening and what I need to do to solve the issue myself. Most service advisors I have dealt with in the past would have let me bring it in only to charge me a diagnostic fee for such a non-issue. I am glad that Peterson runs a solid business and I never dread a service trip for my BMW. Kudos to all the folks there.
