My wife and I recently purchased a 2018 Subaru Forester from Dulles Subaru in Leesburg. This is our second Subaru purchase from this dealer. The sales staff is simply incredible. No pushiness or hurry to get you to buy. They are a delight to deal with and this is the second car we've purchased from them. We will continue to do our service and oil checks with Dulles Subaru as I trust them.

  • My Dulles Subaru Experience

To start, the only Crystal Pearl WhiteI WRX Limited (at least on the east coast) was at this dealership in Virginia, but I live in New Jersey, which made this process uneasy and inconvenient to start. If you are thinking about buying a car, and don't want any bullshit along the way, Angela Battle is the person to talk to. I thought the shipping charges were a bit much so I decided to drive down there, on the basis that they also bought my current car. I arrived at the dealership 10 minutes before it was closing to find everyone gone but Angela and the sales manager. When I left new Jersey, I was really worried about making this ride, especially on a car dealer's word, but Angela was everything she said she would be, and more. The listing I inquired about in June 2018, was for a new 2017 WRX, priced at 31.5k, which I thought was fairly priced, but when I sat in it for the first time, I found out it was actually a 2018 model. We found out it was that model because the 2017 model requires a disk for navigation, while the 2018 model uses a microSD chip, but because the dealership was closed at this point, we were not able to get the chip, and I had to go back to New Jersey. By the time I had woken up the next morning I had a missed called from Angela and had received an email from UPS, informing me there was a packaged scheduled to arrive my address from Dulles dealership the following business day. Out of the four cars I have purchased in my time driving, my Dulles Subaru experience was without question the best car buying experience I have ever had. Despite not being even remotely close to my home, I would still recommend anyone buying a Subaru to this dealership. If you live far from this dealership and are hesitant, talk to ANGELA BATTLE. P.S. If I wasn't making a trade or didn't want to make that gruesome ride to Virginia, as long as I told them my flight time, someone would have been sent from the dealership to the airport (which, if I am not mistaken is 20 minutes from the dealership). All in all, my Dulles Subaru experience was a pretty amazing one, so if you are weary, or have had a devastating car buying experience in the past (like I have), Angela Battle of the Dulles Subaru in Virginia will not disappoint.

  • Mistake After Mistake

2 out of 5 starsby imhensley on 08/29/2017

What follows is a timeline of what happened after I bought a Subaru from Dulles. The sales person was fine; it was the follow-up that was such a mess. Several people making mistake after mistake. No returned calls or emails. This was, by far, the worst experience I have had with any dealership in the 35 years I have been buying cars. I sent the manager of this dealership an (actually two) detailing my issues. He never responded. However, he must have gotten on the employee that was supposed to reply because they soon got back to me. Mr. Omar, I am having problems getting my license plates for a car I bought at your dealership June 24, 2017. I would like the name of the staff person who is handling the tags/plates so I can get a tracking number to see what the status is on the plates, which should have been sent by now. Please see the timeline below, which details several problems with this issue: 6/24/17: Flew to Dulles International airport in D.C./Virginia to buy a car. Paid ~$33,000 (with tax). Was told I would be signing a Power of Attorney for license plates. 7/11/17: emailed “Kayla” to find out what was going on with my tags. Kayla says she needs to send me PofA. I state I am going on vacation and my tags will expire while away 7/12/17: Kayla replies to my email and says she sent out power of attorney that the tag people need to get my license plates, next day air. 7/12/17: Received PofA , signed and returned to UPS same day 7/13/17: UPS verifies delivery, received by “Whiting” 7/19/17: Emailed Kayla and asked for another set of Temporary Tags. Told her I was going on vacation and would be out of state when the current tags expire. Kayla says she will overnight another set. 7/20/17: Received new set of temporary tags 7/25/17: While on vacation, Bank of America calls to tell me they have not yet received the title and were in contact with Dulles Motorcars, who said they have sent out a PofA for me to sign. Get confirmation from UPS that an item was delivered to home address (still out of state), assume it would be my license plates. 7/29/17: Get home from vacation and find a UPS envelope with ANOTHER PofA for me to sign. Could not drop off at UPS until Monday, 7/31/17. Realize they sent another PofA to home, when, if they had called or emailed, I could have told them I was not at my home address and could provide the vacation address to expedite things. Instead have to wait almost a week to get 2nd PofA in UPS. 7/31/17: Call name on (both) overnight envelopes: “Fleta”. She said she did not get the first PofA (UPS verified delivery to Whiting on 7/13/17). States she will get the 2nd PofA (that I just sent) and will take care of everything. 8/1/17: Called Fleta @ 2:30 and asked about 2nd PofA. She said she had not yet received it. I told her UPS verified delivery at 9:30 am (today), received by “Whiting.” Fleta says that is in another office and goes to check; says she has 2nd PofA. States she will get the paperwork together and send to tag people. It should take “about 3 or 4 days.” I calculate Monday 8/7/17: should be the latest I get my tags. Says that I should have been asked to sign PofA before I took possession of car (I had signed PofA then but says it was for something different). 8/8/17: No tags. Called Fleta (@ 11:30 am, N/A, left message to get the name of the person handling the license plates so I can get the tracking number. 8/8/17: Called Fleta @ 3pm, N/A, left message. 8/8/17: Fleta called back @ 4:30 and stated that (title/tag service) Beacon sent the information to the state of GA on 8/3/17, and it usually takes 4-9 business days for them to send the plates back to Fleta Potts, and then she would next day air them to me. I am expecting the plates no later than Friday, 8/18/17 8/8/17: Sent email to Kayla warning her if my tags were not received by 8/22 I would need her to next-day me a THIRD set of temp tags as the 2nd set would be expiring. 8/10/17: Received permanent license plate.

  • BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP

*Beware of this place!* I really dislike leaving poor reviews, but this dealerships left me with no option! I had two dealerships warn me of Dulles Subaru, but I was in a tough situation with money, so I was looking for the best buy! In their defense, they did give me the lowest price in the area on a new Subaru Impreza- but what they did after was inexcusable. I drove about an hour to get to the dealership after Mike quoted me a price over the phone, I get to the dealership, took a test drive, all was well. After, I went in to speak with the car sales manager (Howard) and they told me I could leave with the car that day (without even paying for it, because I was waiting a few days on a check from the insurance company). I kind of felt they were stuffing me into a car, but decided to go through with the financing paperwork. This was the first red flag, the representative went through about 5-7 different documents all within a matter of minutes and urged me to sign right away. When I stated that I wanted to read through the documents, she told me she was running late for something and that I didn’t need to read the paperwork and she could answer any specific questions I had (which made me feel very uncomfortable). I decided to leave because she got very upset that my fiancé and I did not just sign the paperwork without reading it. Howard told me that I could come in on Tuesday (which is when I would have the check by) and finish up the paperwork. Each day between that Saturday and Tuesday, I touched based DAILY- and made the plan with both Howard and Mike that I would 100% buy the car. They both reassured me that they would hold the car for me. I call again on Monday confirming the time I would be there Tuesday morning, and they told me they sold my car the night before I was scheduled to pick it up! So, there I was with no rental, and no car to drive away with! Afterward, I received the worst customer service ever, especially from Howard, who would not take any of the responsibility over what happened. Keep in mind; it was Howard who I made an appointment with to pick up the car on Tuesday! Overall, horrible experience. I would highly suggest steering clear of this place, I wish I had listened to the other dealerships who told me to stay away! Turns out Stohlman Subaru (in Tysons Corner) gave me an even better deal, so check them out!

  • Awesome experience

The salesman, Eric White, and the dealership provide a professional and family friendly buying experience. Our salesman was very knowledgeable about the features of the particular model we were interested in purchasing. He explained technology and safety features in excellent detail.
  • low pressure sale at Dulles Subaru

    5 out of 5 starsby Muddy_Truck on 10/11/2014

My husband and I recently purchased an Impreza from Dulles Jeep/Subaru in Leesburg. The salesman was very nice, and showed us the car, giving us the opportunity to test drive it. We like the car, and were able to negotiate a price that we both liked. Everything was low key - no pushing deals or packages. All terms were explained clearly and easy to understand.

  • rude manager Kim

I visited Dulles Subaru on Nov 18, 2013 for 2014 Forester 2.5i Touring. Kim, the manager, was extremely rude. He asked me to tell him other dealers' quota, I was very reluctant to do so, but eventually I showed him. He then went back to his office to do the math. After a while, he came back, asking me to show him others' quota again. I refused. What he then did really abased him -- he told me "I could not help you" and told his guy "He is ready to go". Kim was neither polite nor professional. Extremely rude.
