WHAT A JOKE!!!
WHAT A JOKE!!! Made an appointment for 11am sharp Sunday morning, considering the 2 hour round-trip from Frederick. Its snowing, sleeting, and already heard 2 accidents on I-270 south, intuition should of told me not to waste time going down to a sleezy dealership. Someone who texts me tells me Mike will be there. 45 mins after opening time, bunch of lip-smacking, trash-talking high school kids show up to work. Mind you there is no parking here. They start asking me if I am going to pay cash or finance, yet we haven't seen a single car, test drove, nor decided. They wanna know if your stupid enough to waste money on them. Goofy looking kid, with watery eyes, probably high on WEED, keeps telling me someone is getting the car. I tell him I gotta go back to Frederick, he shows me the lockbox, which he calls another high school kid who has the keys to the lockbox, they were hoping he'd wake up and drop the lockbox keys to the rest of the cars. He says another 35 mins. While these kids are still talking trash about pure [non-permissible content removed]. This is the best place to buy a high-end luxury pre-owned car from a bunch of trash-talking high school kids. Funny, Anna is the only 5-star yelp review, her friends all seem to be the same group of kids that work there. Shame on me for not reading the reviews, I should of known better not to waste my time 3 hours round-trip, FOR NOTHING. Go somewhere reputable. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE.

Actually wish I could give them 0 stars! Julian is nice let me say that first, but I don't feel like he has the authority needed to help in my situation. First I was lied to about the monthly payments that I would be paying on my vehicle, once the paperwork and check was signed I called my bank to only find out they increased the price! Second the website had multiple features on the car that the actual vehicle DOESNT HAVE! Lastly I took it for MD inspection it didn't pass and guess what?! The experience I had with Merlex was the moment of truth,As having worked in the customer relations for over 30 plus years this small franchise of used cars has raised the bar on customer satisfaction, management has gone over and above!!!!! Thanks to Walter and service manager Bola! I wok highly recommend his place to anyone that is in he marke for a nice Highly car! You can not judge a book by its cover! I saw some bad reviews and it scared me until I went in there and it felt like the right place from the jump!
Had the WORST experience ever at Merlex Auto Group. DONT purchase a car without title in hand or at least get a vehicle history report before signing any paperwork. The car I purchased had a lien on the title and received NO assistance from all the fake managers I spoke with. No returned calls from general manager and constantly told that I had to call my bank to get this matter resolved. I purchased the car from you so why am I responsible for getting the title cleared? Finally, after 90 days the title was cleared while the car sat in my garage for over 30 days without tags to drive it. No 30 day warranty as promised and had to spend a few thousand dollars for repair. READ the paperwork before signing or better yet dont go to this side dealership at all. You may think youre getting a good deal but youre not.
Waste of your time
Get your own financing or come with cash. These folks don't perform due diligence with their finance and play havoc with your credit. Rude, dismissive and misleading experience. Not amused. If you are a veteran take your business elsewhere.

And instead of the owner responding back, show professional courtesy and email me so I can have written conversations as proof of the lies! NO NO AND NO! I would not recommend or refer ANYONE to go to this dealer!!!!! I purchased a 2010 Mercedes truck, and found out before 30 days were up the thermostat had to be replaced! They sent me to "their" mechanic to get it checked out and fixed, only to tell me I was going to be responsible for paying half of the 580.00 and they would pay the other half ( keep in mind, it hadn't even been 30 days after I left the lot) took it to benz to get a full inspection and found out the battery had NEVER been replaced since 2010 and needed a new battery and the service light came on, for oil change and other things, (this was also done within the first 30 days) It's so sooooooooo soooooooooo much more! But I don't even want to waste the energy, however I will sharhave dealt with Sean, Steve, Walter for assistance with all my issues, ask over and over to speak with the OWNER OR MANAGER BUT was told by Sean, "neither one wanted to talk to me!" Also spoke with Melissa today and I honestly thank her for all that she has done bc she would be the only person that actually took the time to listen, and explain to me everything I'm experiencing is not my fault(oh because, not to mention I'm still waiting for hard tags after 2 months) and that's clearly out of my control, checked with the DMV several times, only for them to tell me the VIN #is not in the system so the dealer never sent the paperwork and she has assured me she will make sure to handle things moving forward as much as she can help, so that I do not continue to get the run around and brushed off as I have from everyone else! I read these reviews before going to this dealership, believing I would have this, "all around GREAT buying experience" but I that was NOT TRUE AT ALL! And honestly, I wish Melissa was the manager and/or owner of this establishment, she is VERY Professional and understands what it takes to display GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never go to a "off the side of the road" dealership EVER AGAIN!!!! Melissa again, I THANK YOU for your help and most of all your HONESTY!!!

I am extremely disappointed with an interaction I had with this dealership through the TRUECar site. I submitted the form on the car's page to see if it was still available and get an updated quote and was confirmed that it is available. I then contacted the dealer (Merlex in Arlington, VA) via the price protection certificate which was emailed to me, during which they scheduled my test drive for the following day. When I showed up yesterday for that test drive, I was notified that the car had already been sold- 5 days ago! Not only that but it was the only car of its kind available there so there were no other comparable cars for me to look at to even make it worth my trip (I was in to see a Prius and the lot was full of Bentleys, Maseratis, Benzes, etc.) Not once during the entire process did someone alert me that the car had sold, even the day of a simple text would have been MUCH appreciated as I drove all the way from annapolis, MD to Arlington, VA during rush hour traffic. Horrible dealership !! SCAAMM
Do not go to them !! I spent 350000 on a Jaguar but had to do 3000 repair. They have set me up and took my money. They do not care once the car is sold !! Now I am stuck with this car. Do not do business with finance guy Walter, Mike, Bola. They have nice cars but do not buy the car without inspection.
I would highly recommend anyone to come and experience an A1 car buying experience! Not only am I pleased with my purchase but also I felt at home from the very friendly customer service I received! These guys made me feel like family! The inventory on the lot is jaw dropping that I almost deviated from the vehicle I was coming to purchase! If ever I am in the car purchasing position I will positively come to Merlex and I strongly suggest any of you reading this do the same! I traded my Car and they told me in the begging they will give me a certain number but once they saw my car they gave me retial for it! While i was here some one else was looking at the same car and they were fair to both parties because they went of the the first come first one get it basis! So top money for my trade, clean car and clean business! What more can I ask for.

Worst experience ever AVOID
By far the worst experience EVER buying a car. Added $1000 to the Internet listed price without telling me until paperwork was being viewed to purchase then added another $999 for "processing" !! Had several issues without being able to get in contact via telephone AND email! They have been avoiding me. Needs an emissions test, past due oil change before purchase, sold with an empty tank and was told they'd fill- when they handed over $20... knowing it takes $40 to fill!! No air in tires- had to tell them before driving off Lot to put air in them. Sketchy and dirty!! Do not trust. Extremely dishonest!!!
Advertising scam/bait and switch
RESPONSE to MERLEX's Anticipated response: The car they advertised did not sell on Saturday. As of texts from Jed at 1100 pm telling me car there, can't meet Sunday, clearly false advertising. Investigation will require them to show sales receipt of vehicle and date vehicle was supposedly sold. anyone who wants evidence of bait and switch and false advertising feel free to PM me- I have texts, video and audio recording of event. Car has now been removed from their inventory as of 8/23/16. Deal was not to wrap and ship- [non-permissible content removed] Don't ever go here !!! Just busted them for bait and switch and not having inventory advertised (false advertising). Recorded conversations between Jed and Mike when it happened this morning. Saga began when I spoke with Jed 8/19 and told him I wanted the 2012 Range Rover HSE they are asking 36,666 for (still shows up on their inventory page). We wanted to come see car Sun., and were told Alex had to attend funeral. I traveled up on train , stayed in hotel and arrived Monday at 10:00 am to view vehicle. it was not in lot, nor was Jed, who arrived at 1030. Was told vehicle had been sent to Alexandria car clinic. I called in their presence, no such car at the clinic. I was then told one of the mechanics (Zach) had it- also not true. Google Merlex law suit/sanctions. They were sanctioned $2500 for false advertising 12/2105, I have reported and made a complaint to DMV and FTC regarding this incident and investigation is now underway and more sanctions will be coming. In addition, I notified USAA as they were a certified dealer, and USAA has removed their ability to be certified dealer and is also investigating.
One Of A Kind!
One of a kind dealership! I have bought many cars in my life but I never got the serivce that merlex auto group has provided. It was a three day process. But they got it done just the way I wanted them to do it for me. I got refered he from a friend that bought a car as well! I am going to do the same thing and refer many if my clients over to them. If your in the market for a highline exoctic car go ahead and check out merlex auto geoup of arlington! I got the car i wanted and the rate i wanted. Walter the man him self got me 72 month on a 10 year old car. I love my M5. I would recommed to go see mike or moe there were a great sales guys! And based on other reviwes I did not wanted to go but since i got refered i gave them a chance! They have a great team. And a great staff. I work very hard for my money so i did not wanted to get something that would give me problems and this car runs like a v10 should when we went on a test drive!

Im not one to leave reviews, but I was motivated by the great experience that I had with Merlex Auto Group. I was able to get a great car and Walter was extremely helpful with working out a great deal. If Im ever in search for another car I know where Im headed.
The employees were so helpful when it came to all the questions I had both financially and car wise. Im not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to cars, but they made the whole process of car buying much easier. I cant get over the great customer service. I am thrilled with my purchase, and I highly recommend them to anyone who hasnt checked them out yet.
Please!!Pay attention if youre buying from out of town
Im a young Veteran who came from Baltimore to Virginia to buy a 09 CLS 550..... Javier (cool sales person) helped me out and everything went well. Long story short, I finished the paper work up with the boss Walter. Everything went good, he told to get my car inspected from Maryland bring it to them and they'll have my tags in a few weeks, I said no problem. I got my inspection done (brake light out but I ate the price), drove all the way back to Va and gave them my inspection papers but around this time my 30 day tags are within a week of being expired. They gave me another 30 day tags and told me that my tags should be there within a week. 3 wks go by and I'm calling none stop, nobody wants to talk to me, they're hanging up on me and I can never get in contact with Walter. My tags expired 6/4/16 and I finally reached somebody 6/2/16 and they told me I have to pay for my own tags, tax and title... No apology, no help, and no additional 30 day tags. The car was 25k and I have to pay 6% in order to receive my tags not to mention the state to state transfer fee and a few more little fees totaling 1955.00. Mind u my car tags is now expired and I can't get to work, my car got towed because of the expired tags and I have no transportation due to the fact I was lied to. The money is not issue, it's just the fact of how they lied and treated me after the check cleared. I thought they were good guys but that's life and that's the nature of the business but I'm sure Karma will be in full effect because the man above don't like dishonest ppl. In conclusion, if you're buying from out of town, make sure that you see on paper that they'll pay for your tags, taxes and title or you'll be a victim. I wrote this hoping I helped someone not to bash the dealership but it is what it is.
