No pressure buying experience
Drove 90 minutes to look at a specific car, 2015 Ford Escape. We were met in the lot by Robby Johnson, who introduced us to his manager, Dave. We were very interested in the car but wanted time to think about making a purchase. Robby did not pressure us in any way to purchase the car, but hoped we would return. We did return several days later & were able to make a deal on the car. Along with Robby & Dave we worked with Matt & Josiah who also went out of their way to make this a good experience. At no time did anyone on the team make us feel pressured to buy a car! We were very pleased to have Robby for our consultant as he made us feel very comfortable during our visit. He did a nice job with us & we wish him well as he continues his career.
I recently purchased a 2018 Honda FIT from Altoona Honda. This is my 4th Honda. I had an excellent purchasing experience from beginning to end - from Justin Griffith, sales manager to Ken Lingenfelter, sales consultant, to Max Glasson and Josiah Champeno, the business/financial guys, back to Ken. Josiah spent a considerable amount of time going over the paperwork end of the deal. His explanations were appreciated. This dealership is well organized and professional. This is my 4th car purchase from Ken.
Excellent customer service
We were traveling from out of state and had an issue with one of our tires, which needed replacing. We contacted the parts/service department on a Saturday morning and they were able to replace our tire in a very quick, timely manner. The customer service was outstanding.
The Power of Dreams
Ken is really awesome. Great personality, easy to talk to, relatable. Never high pressure, car shopping was enjoyable. He even made followup phone calls post purchase. I like my car and the Honda experience was nice. Financing was great at helping me get to what I was willing to pay. However, didn't want to take no for an answer on a couple things, but the employee was new and still learning the ropes.When his trainer/supervisor came in to check in, it became more intimidating with 2 people asking the some of the same questions over again. Everyone was kind and courteous, very professional. The facility was really clean.

I was looking for a civic si for about 6 months before i went to altoona honda. They didnt initially have what i wanted on the lot, but Robby promosed me they could get me everything i wanted on my budget and 2 days later i was test driving my future car. i was really happy about how noninvasive the purchasing process was. He basically texted me and worked around my schedule to get what i wanted. i would recommend this dealer to a friend.

Best service after the sale in town
I noticed some slight damage to my vehicle after the sale and I took it into my salesman, Bobby Krouse, and he and Justin Griffith looked at it and agreed to fix it at no cost to me. The vehicle's warranty did not cover this and they were under no obligation to fix it but they did. These guys and Altoona Honda went above and beyond for me.

In my search for a new vehicle, every review pointed towards Honda as being the best balance of overall value and reliability. With it's conveniently located and spacious facility, Altoona Honda was my first choice to begin the selection process. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly and warmly by Sales Consultant Robby Johnson. He was very approachable and friendly, which immediately put me at ease. He was the exact opposite of the stereotypical, pushy, intimidating salesperson. Even though I was only there to test drive that day, he really took the time to find out what I needed in my new vehicle. I originally had the Civic in mind, but after a test drive I realized I would rather stay with the high seating and small form of a compact SUV that I was used to. Once I drove the HR-V, I knew I'd found my new car. To be fair, I also paid a visit to a nearby competitor for the sake of comparison. My experience there with an uninformed and almost apathetic salesman was in stark contrast to that of Altoona Honda's knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. The difference between the two dealerships was like night and day, and it was an easy decision to return to Altoona Honda. During the close of the sale, I had several family members with me (for moral and/or financial support), and each member of the staff we dealt with was nothing but accommodating and welcoming. Business Manager Justin Griffith was wonderful to work with, as well. He had a very calming demeanor and thoroughly explained all of the different extended warranty options available. We also worked with Sales Manager Matt Mallery, who was quite personable and truly cares about customer service. This is my first Honda, but as the saying goes, it definitely won't be my last!
Max Glasson was awesome and not once did he try pressuring my wife and I into buying. One of the most laid-back car buying experiences we ever had. He totally sold the CRV too. The guy really knows his stuff. Even after we bought it, my wife has called him several times asking him questions about it and he's helped her every time. He walked us through every setting the car had too. I'd recommend any of my friends to go in and talk to this guy. Quite impressed.

Altoona Honda Dealership Review
After browsing through dealers online when I was in the market for a 2017 Honda Civic Si Sedan, there were few that had a broad inventory selection and friendly staff. Altoona Honda was one of those few. The first aspect of my experience with Altoona Honda was my conversation with Eric Noll, who is their BDC manager. When I had questions, he had answers that were thorough, timely, and relevant. He also helped me set up my trip over to the dealership and made sure that I was prepared with everything I needed to complete the vehicle sales process. Once I arrived at the dealership, the Civic Si I eventually purchased was parked out front of the dealership with a VIP sign on it. That shows how much Altoona Honda values customer service. My sales consultant was China Kifer. She showed me all of the details regarding the vehicle and then set up a test drive for me. After the test drive was complete, I knew this was the vehicle for me. If I was signing papers, China was helping complete other items that needed completed in order to make my trip efficient. Although a sales consultant, China is also knowledgeable on many technical aspects of Hondas. As far as my experience at Altoona Honda's dealership, their facility is top-notch. The design is welcoming and the vehicle lot is full of a broad inventory selection of Hondas. Additionally, I visited their service facility and it is just as nice as the sales floor. Altoona Honda is a dealership where you can count on quality service, before, during, and after the sale or service. The facility, staff, and vehicles are all first-class.
While in the market for a pre-owned Prius for my wife, I came upon a listing for one at Altoona Honda. I felt the asking price was fair and decided to go see it. I was greeted by a guy named Robby, who was the most friendly and honest salesman I've ever met on a car lot. Robby is the type of guy you hope to meet when you arrive at a dealership. Most of the time, you get the uptight guy who wants to push you into a vehicle you don't want, or fills you full of misinformation to try to get you to buy a car you might not feel comfortable with. Robby answered any questions I had about the car and if he wasn't sure, he found out the answers, rather than guessing or making things up. I could tell right from the start that I was going to like dealing with Altoona Honda. I can't drive without hand controls and my wife was still at work, so Robby took me for a ride in the vehicle. It was a great vehicle, so when we returned to the dealership, Robby went and talked to the sales manager, Matt. Matt was very friendly as well, and made me a fair offer on my trade. It did take a little negotiating, but I understand the dealership has to make money as well, and we did eventually come to an agreement we both felt was fair. The listing showed that the vehicle had a feature that we found it actually lacked, and Matt also agreed, without my asking, to take $200 off for that mistake. Most dealerships barely apologize for an inaccurate listing, let alone offer to take any money off for their mistakes. I was very pleasantly surprised by this experience! After agreeing to a deal, we met Josiah, in the finance department. Josiah answered every question we had, whether it was regarding our credit or the available extended warranty options, or anything else. In addition to being friendly and professional, Josiah was a wealth of knowledge and didn't fast talk or use terms we wouldn't understand. He made it easy to understand what can be a very complicated part of purchasing a new vehicle. I also asked before we made the deal if the dealership would have someone remove my hand controls from my trade, as this would save me from paying labor to the shop that installs them, and save me from driving both vehicles there and back. Matt was happy to make that happen for us. It was late in the evening when we finalized the deal, and the service department workers had all gone home for the day, but first thing the next morning, I got a text from Robby that my controls were ready to be picked up at my convenience. When I pulled onto the lot, Robby saw my truck and immediately signaled to me to stay in the truck. He went to get the hand controls and brought them out to me, so I didn't have to get my wheelchair out and get out, carry the controls to the truck, and then get my chair back in. We purchased the pre-owned Prius nearly a month ago now, and we are still VERY pleased with our purchase. We haven't had any need for service yet, but I have confidence that things will go just as well, should the need arise. Everyone who was there the night we purchased our vehicle was extremely friendly and professional. A couple of the other dealers came up and talked to us while we waited for Robby and Matt, and they were very nice as well. It sounds corny, but you do feel like you are treated as family at this place, and that means a lot. They get it. There's literally hundreds of places within a reasonable drive you can buy a vehicle, but after our experience at Altoona Honda, my wife and I don't plan on going anywhere else for our future needs! I was in need of a car within a week. Jon Stern, a sales associate, helped me find the car i wanted for the best price. He wasn't forceful with finding me a car, but rather heard my needs and found what i was looking for. I am from PA but currently live in Boston. Transparent, helpful, and nothing to hide.
My van was totaled the other day with 5 kids inside by a driver who missed a red light. We were so fortunate to not have any of the kids get hurt. But I needed a large capacity vehicle quickly. I called Altoona Honda one minute after closing on a Saturday afternoon. Much to my surprise I was greeted by a cheerful receptionist who sounded like I was the most important call of her day. I asked for Sales and after a brief hold was put on with China Kifer. I explained my situation to her and asked her if she had anything in stock (used or new). China is not like the normal âcar salesmanâ just trying to close a deal. She is genuine. She is personable. She is engaging. And I honestly believe that starting on that first conversation she actually cared. China told me that they had just traded a very nice Honda Pilot in. Not wanting to let a great deal slip by, I asked if I could come, at that moment, after closing time, to see it. Much to my surprise, she welcomed me, and even stayed nearly an hour after closing just to show me the car. Dealer transparency is something you rarely get to see. But I did. China took me straight back to the service area (which was spotlessly clean and well arranged) and showed me the car while it was on the rack with its wheels off getting serviced. The service techs were gone for the day but their workspace was like a dream. Being happy with the car and the price, I arranged to come in to purchase it the following week. China was very proactive about contacting me with updates and making sure we had a convenient time picked for me to do the transaction. Iâve bought quite a few used cars. And this was as painless as ever. I would like to commend the finance staff for working extra hard to find a good deal. Working extra hard to do it with my bank. They took it to the point of reducing the price of the car without being asked in order to meet the bankâs financing requirements and minimizing my down payment. I was happy with the original price and ended up paying even less. I drove away in a used-but-like-new Honda with an outstanding financing arrangement and a full service dealership waiting to service it going forward. Oh, and they even arranged to return my rental for me so I didnât have to. In the single week since Iâve bought it, Iâve driven nearly 2,000 miles through the heart (and traffic) of NYC to the farmlands of NJ to the mountains of PA. It has been an outstanding car that feels stronger, smoother, and better than other brand-new (other brand) cars Iâve recently test driven. Summaryâ¦ Go to Altoona Honda. Ask for China Kifer. Buy a Honda. You will be happy you did.
