Did my research and returned to Island Subaru for my 3 rd car purchased there.Even with the change of ownership they have maintained outstanding service and personal, All our vehicles for the past 14 years have been serviced there, never a worry about the integrity of the mechanics or sales people. It couldn't have been a less stress free experience and we got exactly the car we wanted. The new 2018 Crosstreck is an outstanding car for us.

Deceptive business practices

My experience with Island Subaru has been horrendous. I was decieved into purchasing a "pro tire warranty" through deceptive sales practices. Until recently when i had to make a claim with this policy did i realize how worthless and deceptive this place is. I purchased a 2018 orange crosstrek in september. Blew my tire early november and immediately submitted a claim with Candace. No response 2 weeks later. My husband kept in contact with the managers greg, craig, adam, chris, and whoever....they just blatantly misled us as they kept saying the check for the reimbursement would be mailed and in the end it never was. Clearly they were LESS than truthful. It has been over 2 months now and its impossible to reach anyone. I will be pursuing this to the end with Subaru corporate america office and every regulatory agency that oversees consumer and insurance fraud in NYS. SO BEWARE OF DEALING WITH THIS DEALERSHIP AND THEIR DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES.

Joby and Danny were a great help and very nice, very attentive and didn't act like they were doing the customer a favor by helping them which is the experience i have had at most Subarus. This being the third time i went to get the STI and my final thanks to the great experience i had there.

On May 24, 2016, I went to Island Subaru to see a 2013 Subaru Forester advertised on their website for $18,900, certified used. After I agreed to buy the car, I was told there was a certified used fee over and above the price of the car. So I paid $20,775 for the car. Island Subaru said they had to drive it 50 miles before they could inspect it. So it was delivered to my house the next day. When it arrived the next day, it had one key. I was entitled to 2 keys for certified used. Not knowing I was entitled to 2 keys, I paid to have a second key made at the Subaru dealer in Bay Ridge which is much closer to me . Island Subaru will not reimburse me for the second key. A few days after we got the car, we realized the bracket that holds the battery in place was cracked and the battery was rattling around. The USB port also wasn't working, which I specifically asked about before agreeing to buy the car. Last week, the brake light started to come on so I took it back to Bay Ridge Subaru and was told there was no oil or brake fluid in the car. An open recall had also not been performed before the car was sold to me. I specifically paid the extra money for a certified used car so I would not have these problems. A certified used car should not have been sold with no oil or brake fluid! I was not given what I paid for! In just over a month, I have been back to service 3 times. When I tried to call Island Subaru about this issue, the phone just rang and rang. I called on different times and different days, during their posted business hours. On one occasion, I got a person who took a message and said "I'll check into this and call back tomorrow," I never heard from her again. Two other times, they transferred me to my salesman, and the phone just rang and rang. I was never able to get a manager on the phone. I finally asked the Island Subaru online chat window for the manager's number. They said they didn't have the number, and asked for my number. I gave it. The manager never called me, but I got texts and emails trying to sell me a car! I finally got Greg Kemp on the phone. He has been no help at all. He did not seem to care at all that I was not given what I was promised and what I paid for. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Island Subaru. I have spent needless hours taking care of problems that I should never have had. T
