I just purchased a car from Linden VW and it was a very easy and relatively stress free purchase. As a single woman I do honestly always feel trepidation about going to purchase a car even though I have a very good salary and excellent credit. But I have been treated unfairly in the past and I am always leery about buying a car. One time in Florida, at a Rick Case dealership I wanted to purchase a car and met a couple in the showroom who were purchasing the same car. The dealer would not give me the same price and I ended up walking out, disgusted. The sales manager had the nerve to call me the next day to see what had gone wrong with the sale and I let him have it!! I have had other negative experiences at dealers. However, when I went to LInden VW they were very nice, no pressure at all and they recognized the fact that I had gone to other dealers and had looked around and they made me a good offer. They let me take my time, no hard sales tactics, , and my salesman, Steve Goggins, was amazing , very thoughtful, considerate and took a lot of time to show me the car and explain all of the details and how it worked, etc. Overall I would most certainly recommend Linden VW as I received outstanding treatment there from my salesman, the GM, and the finance dept, all superb.

A+ Honest Dealership. Ask for "GREG STEIN"

I recently purchased a used Bmw, from this dealership and was treated absolutely perfect. My salesman's name was "Greg Stein" and I must add that he even came to the Airport to pick me up from the terminal I flew in on, and this was his off day to boot. He was honest, accurate, and was an absolutely ideal salesman. No hidden anything. I had asked many questions before arranging to fly up and see the vehicle and I was somewhat even shocked, to see that everything I was promised had went just as said. Hard to find an honest Car Salesman anymore, but if you are ever looking at Linden Volkswagon "Greg Stein" will treat you right, and will be 100% honest and fair with you. Thank you again Greg!! You will definatly have our repeat business and will always be a stand up man to my family and I. Thank you!!!

Linden Volkswagen ranked zero in follow up

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership in early July. I was sent home the first day without any paper work or prior test drive. In order to get to this Volkswagen, which is the closest to me , I have to cross a bridge and pay a to'll. Numerous times I was sent to this Volkswagen to receive paperwork, leaving with nothing. After receiving said paperwork, I had to return the vehicle because it was not working properly. I was then given a dealers personal vehicle. At the time I did not understand how unprofessional and unsafe this was. I tried to contact them for a week about my car. No response. I had to literally show up to pick up my vehicle. Since the day it has been fixed, two light come up on my dashboard stopping my vehicle from going in gear. I have contacted both my salesmen Steve Higgins as well as manager Wayne with no return calls. I have contacted the Attorney General and Volkswagen Customer Claims whom are the only ones who seem to care if a young EMT gets to work in time to save lives. Very unprofessional! I would never recommend anyone buy a vehicle from said dealership!!!

I had the pleasure of purchasing a pre-owned VW Beetle Convertible from Linden VW and it truly was the best car buying experience i have ever had. Marco, our salesman was courteous and informative. He advised me to do my research before coming back to make any decisions and was very helpful throughout the entire experience. The sales manager and finance guy were both amazing as well, and did all they could to ensure that my trade-in and purchase felt fair. I absolutely LOVE my car and would recommend Linden VW without hesitation!!!

Love this place!

This is my second vehicle bought from Linden Volkswagon. Also my second vehicle that I have bought from Michael Ramirez. I would never deal with anyone else, he is knowledgeable, honest and truly just a great person to deal with when you are buying a car. I was sad to let the beetle go but I love the jetta and now I can transport my 1 year old twin boys in my car comfortably and I am comfortable also. Thank you for being a great dealer to go to and making it all happen in two hours to fit around my schedule. Will be telling everyone to come to you guys for a car.

One of the easiest car buying experiences I've had

Top notch, no hassle, no games. We bought our pre-owned vehicle from LindenVW after searching the internet and came upon a 2011 Jetta SE. We decided to walk in (no appointment) and just get an up close look at the vehicle. Previously, we had seen other cars during the week from other dealerships and each time ran in sales/finance people who were your stereotypical Sales people (pushy, told us that we would not find better, etc.) It was refreshing to deal with sales (Rosa R.) and Finance (Anthony D.) people were straight forward and honest. They met and exceeded our expectations. Rosa immediately treated us as if we were old friends and made the car buying process very comfortable experience. Anthony, let us know right away what he could do for us and actually came in better after the deal was signed. He was very busy, however, he took the time to fully explain the finance terms. Kudos to the staff at Linden VW. I would definetely recommend them to anyone in the market for a VW. BTW, this was our first VW and we could not be happier.

Service on recently purchased PO Jetta

Bought a 2010 Jetta from them, pre-owned. Had to bring it back within a few days due to serious vibration. When I brought the car back, the first thing the General Manager said, instead of an apology, was to insinuate that I might have had an accident. After my car was "serviced" at the above location, there were still problems, and grave problems as I have discovered after spending more time and money to bring it to my mechanic. I had to leave the car at the mechanic last night and came back to the dealership only to be met, once again, my ridiculous, idiotic and frankly inane comments by the General Manager who tried to make light of the situation where I or my loved ones or others on the road could have been injured while driving one of their cars. Never Again

Worse than poor service

Took the bug to their service department for repair under approved insurance claim and after three attempts, they not only didn't fix it, but the claim was denied and cancelled because they switched their diagnosis. The service manager was verbally abusive and arrogant. Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and NJ Attorney General as well. Buyer beware.

GAP

My husband purchased a used car from this dealership in March 2011. They told him that "GAP" insurance was mandatory. It turns out that its not and I have not been able to receive my refund back. They have switched people in finance 3 times since then. The Finance dept will not give me a straight answer. I have spoken to many people...Octavo, Mike, Craig, Bill, Mark, James and Tony. I have never been so angry or disappointed in a dealership. This has been going on for 8 months and still, no one wants to help. No one returns my phone calls. Their customer service is very poorly run and they are neglecting their customers. I don’t know how they stay in business. I would advise anyone looking to buy a car to run the other way. There are so many other dealerships in the area that you can deal with. I hope you will take my advice and purchase somewhere else. Just remember, you will be spending thousands and thousands of dollars. How would you like to be treated?

HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THEM

After many painful experiences with volkswagen cars (i.e. total loss in a flood & money poured down the drain in repairs), I was coming to the end of my lease for my 3rd VW car, I decided to attempt to trade in my car. At Three County VW in Lyndhurst NJ, the sales team refused to get me a decent monthly rate. They insisted I put down a large down payment. I had already been coerced to put down $6000 on my first lease with them for a 2009 Jetta! $4000 on my second after the total flood loss for the same car! Now, they insisted yet again I do the same... NOT HAPPENING... I MOVED MY BUSINESS TO LINDEN VOLKSWAGEN--they gave me low lease payments NO $ DOWN for the 2012 JETTA. I was pleased with their professional attitude and I left feeling confident about my decision to continue leasing.

initial price is good but charge 359 doc fee, other dealer charge 150 charge 449 registration fee, and didn't refund difference give 3.99 financing rate with credit score around 800 no answer to questions or issues after car sold. hard to contact

I don't usually write reviews but felt the need to share my car buying experience, and how easy it was. This dealership was very upfront and honest, easy to work with and very quick with expediting my paperwork and getting me out of there. This is my 2nd used car that i have purchased from Bill in the used car department, and I will go back there again and have been referring friends and family there now. I noticed they had a great selection of used cars, and everyone that I spoke with there was professional and courtious. They also had really good rates for financing. It was actually a pleasure doing business with them, and I have had terrible experiences in the past buying cars from dealerships.

I am a loyal VW fan and have been for many years. I shopped multiple dealerships looking for the best price and received a lot of a good offers. Linden Volkswagen was the only dealership to not only get back to me quickly, with the information I REALLY wanted, but they also honored everything they told me. Most of the other dealerships all had some small print, or put some rebate no one got in their price and then tried to change all the numbers. Once I got to the store, the salesman (John) worked with me in explaining all of the features of the car. He really knows his VW's! I was not only impressed with his knowledge of the car, he also took the time to review all of the finance and lease options I had. After that, I had my paperwork done quickly and professionally (which is rare these days) and everything that we discussed in my quote matched right up to the penny that the manager said it would be. I am definitely going to recommend Linden Volkswagen to anyone who is interested in a car, even if it they don't want a Volkswagen! Not only was the whole experience great, it was really nice to do business in a stress free environment. I was not pressured, I didn't have 10 different managers pushing me around, and the best part for me was that they even offered me lunch that they ordered. A far cry from all the highway hassles you get nowadays. Simply a great place to do business. Thanks again and I look forward to getting my next VW from you guys!!

WORST PLACE TO BUY A CAR! TOTAL BAIT N SWITCH!!! BEWARE!

Please stay away from this dishonest, rude, and cheating dealership. We went to buy a 2006 VW Jetta. After keeping us there for 6 long hours and going back and forth they said the deal was final. We were to pay 35% on creditcard and the rest in cash when we pickup the vehicle. After writing up the whole paper work and charging the credit cards, and giving us the keys to the car, as we were about to leave, they told us that there was a mistake and they had already sold that car to someone else!!!!We could not believe our ears!! But we did see another couple test driving the car, so we are guessing that after finalizing our offer the dealer received a better offer from the other couple and decided to go for that instead! This is after charging our creditcards and taking the money! They convinced us saying that they will make it up to us by getting a similar car, and they just happened to have another one! Classic BAIT n SWITCH!!! When they brought the other car out we discovered to our horror that it was scratched all around, had a broken side view mirror, and drove like it has never been serviced in its entire life. The salesman repeatedly told us that this car was certified by the VW dealer with 120 checkpoint certification and kept showing the the pink chalk mark on the windshield that said CPO (certified pre owned)! After we drove it, we demanded to see the certification report. Then he came out and said that it was never certified, and it does not need to be certified. Needless to say that we were shocked again at their ability to lie and cheat. After requesting to see the carfax for a whole hour, they finally gave us a one page carfax, that only showed 4000 miles on the paper when the car odometer actually showed 25,000+ miles! They insisted that it does not mean anything and that it was a perfectly good car and comparable to the other one! The other car happened to be a certified car with clean carfax and no visible damage. At this point they lost our trust completely so we said we were not interested in the replacement and requested to credit the cards back with the $5000 they charged. They said the office was closed and we had to wait until monday to get the credit back. It is really funny how they had the office open to take your money but it miraculously was closed to issue the credit back! We kept calling back on monday to see if the credit was issued back but every time they either said that the manager was busy, or let the answering machine pickup. I finally had to call the credit card companies to put the transactions in dispute. Please learn from my experience and steer clear off this dishonest dealership. There are many open, honest dealers out there that have the carfax published freely on their website.

I posted a bad review about the Sales Dept. of this dealer. I also read the poor reviews of the Service Dept. I have to say, my experiences in the 5 years of dealing with this service dept has been excellent. I have never had an issue with any repair, charge, cost or customer service. I have always found them to be professional and personable. The repairs were always completed quickly and for the amounts stated. I wish the Sales Dept. ran their end of the business as well as the Service Dept. Because of the sales dept. I still cannot recommend this dealership.

3rd time NOT a charm

In March of 2008, I decided to trade in my 2006 Jetta for a Tiguan. This was my 3rd time purchasing from this dealership. When I arrived at the dealership, the saleswoman whom I had always dealt with had retired. The new salesman said that there was a delay in the manufacturing of the Tiguan and they did not have any and wasn't sure when they would arrive. I (mistakenly) took him at his word and decided on a Passat. When I came to pick up my plates a week later, there on the lot were two (2!) car carriers unloading Tiguans! I approached the salesman and asked why he didn't tell me that the Tiguans were being delivered a few days later. He must think that car buyers are idiots because he said "We don't know when cars are being delivered, they just show up." Of course, it was too late since my deal on the Passat had been finalized. I called several times and finally wrote a letter of complaint (actually handwritten) to the sales manager and owner and did not receive any reply. I also wrote to Volkswagen America and again no reply. I am unhappy with the Passat and have now decided to trade it in. I will never buy another VW again which is sad because I was a loyal VW buyer. Shame on this dealership!

What a bunch of bad attitudes at this service department. From when I asked for a saturday appointment and got laughed at like I was telling a joke. To when the person on the other end of the phone asked me what kind of car I had and when I told him I had a jetta he asked for my name and insisted that I had a beetle. This was obviously a data entry error on their behalf. But the whole conversation was just filled with questions with poor attitude. This was after the last visit to the service center which was full of lies and delays. Don't even think of asking for a loaner car, unless you have recently bought a fleet of cars from because I don't think they exist.

Bait and Switch

Total bait and switch dealership... got a good quote over the Web, when I should up, they said they didn't have the car I wanted and wanted to charge me MUCH more for another model. Found the sales people to be rude and discourteous when I said I wan't interested. Any place has to be a better car buying experience than here.
