Our Painful Car Purchasing Experience with Tri-County Lexus at Little Falls

It's a nightmare. I am dealing with Lexus directly trying to resolve our costly issue. This is regarding Auto Loan contract made on 1/20/2018 with Tri-County Lexus. My wife Hong Liu is the BUYER. Tri-County Lexus is the SALER. Dealer Number: 00000 62907, Contract Number AD-3-42 0000 84315179 The car was purchased at Tri-County Lexus, located at Little Falls, NJ 07424. This contract was a set up. My wife was cheated by Sealer Person Jose Loidi and the Financial Specialist (I will provided his name later). The Itemization of Amount Financed (Page 2) was never displayed to the BUYER. The rest of forms never display to the BUYER either. All the amount charged listed on page 2 of the contract never mentioned to the BUYER. The Buyer (Hong Liu) only speaks very limited English, and barely read the contract on PC screen. She asked few time “show me on the paper”. She was told “you will get it once the process is completed. Both Salesperson and Financial person push her to sign on the Signature Pad six times without going over the context of each document. These items were added on the loan contract (page 2): Item# D: Optional Gap Contract $995.00 Item# J => Lexus/Safe-Guard $2233.00 => TMIS for Mechanical Breakdown $3965.00 BUYER kept saying “NO Warrantee”. However, $7193.00 were silently added to the loan without letting BUYER know (showing on the screen or on paper). All the contract related information did NOT deliver to the BUYER during the process. During the price bargaining, I said we will pay Bank Check. The salesperson told us we need to pay $700.00 if we paid in cash. If we go finance, this $700.00 can be waved. After signed the purchase contract (invoice), which the TOTAL purchase price (including Sale Tax, Documentation Fee and DMV fee) is $32,700.00, we did not receive this signed invoice. Salesperson said he will give us all documentation at the very end. But, we never get it. I had to leave the showroom earlier to pick up kids, as babysitter is leaving. I left my wife herself to finish the loan process. This was a BIG MISTAKE. Because I wasn’t stand with her. I felt so sorry and Regret. Because she doesn’t speak English well, they (salesperson and financial specialist) set her up. They cheated her by adding unwanted protection programs on the loan contract and push her to sign on Signature Pad six times electronically, without going over what she was signing for. Finally, my wife drove the car back home. I asked has for the loan contract. When I read it, I can control myself but screaming and yelling to her “You are an idiot”. (Now, I felt so sorry to her. Used Car Dealer set her up. That wasn’t her fault). It was 6:30PM on Saturday night. We arrived at Tri-County Lexus at the morning at 10:30AM. My wife was exhausted because she did not eat anything in the past 8 hours. We decided to drive back to Tri-County Lexus, located at Little Falls, NJ and ask them to fix the contract. We arrived there at 7:00PM. I asked big manager’s help. We were invited to a stay in a side room which far away from the showroom. They didn’t want us to disturb the other customers in the showroom. We (my wife, me and my two little boys) were waiting for 40 minutes. During this waiting, I found out someone locked our room from outside. We were not able to go out. For my kids’ safe, I pretended nothing happen. Finally, the junior manager came and said “Once the contract electronically submitted they can’t call it back. They cannot do anything. They don’t own the car any more, It’s the bank. We need to call bank and deal with them”. Finally, Jose (salesperson) unlocked the door and allowed us to leave. The time was 8:00PM. Since Tri-County Lexus never delivered the original purchase INVOICE to us, I came back Monday during the lunch time and ask for it. I’ll need to it to report the purchasing price to my Insurance and may be to my attorney. The manager told me there is no needed, all documents are inside the folder we received on Saturday. I insisted to have my original signed invoice. He wanted me to wait for 30 minutes. He had assistant manager to give me a copy. It’s a FAKE copy. It was a quickly made FAKE and lousy copy, printed from printer. It is NOT the original invoice. All numbers and items just are matched with the auto loan. He copied my wife’s signature from computer and pasted the BUYER Signature column. And, it’s empty on the Salesperson site, it’s an invalid and FAKE invoice. Obviously, they think and treat customer like idiot. People work there all have two faces – smiling face when you walk in and try to buy a car, Ugly faces when you go back and ask them to fix mistakes. Be careful, they do set you up. DO NOT walk in this place. Or, you may be the next victim.

Most Unethical, Dishonest, HORRIBLE Salespeople

This was about to be our 5th Lexus purchase. We were looking at a certified RX350 online and when we got to the dealership, the price was quoted at the window sticker because they said it was "ready to be certified." This is classic BAIT and SWITCH and FRAUD. As a lawyers, there are multiple violations of the Consumer Fraud Act including per se violations of the disclosure regulations. We were treated horribly and when we told them what they were attempting to do was illegal and would sue them for fraud, the manager who would not provide his name threatened to call the police to have us escorted out of the dealership.

Deceptice Sales Practice

Worst customer service ever!! I recently purchased a used 2016 Lexus IS 300 and without my knowledge they added a Tire and Rim protection without my knowledge. I called back to ask Chris in finance why this was done and he said Andy the salesman should have discussed this with me, which he did not. Chris in finance also went ahead and said this is the second time this has happened. I called Andy the salesman and he did not know why they added the Tire and Rim package. I asked Chris from finance for proof of signature that I agreed to this. He finally sent me a copy of the agreement but there was no signature. I called again and explained there was no signature therefore I did not agree to this and wanted a full refund. To this day I have received a phone call back.

I would give his review -5 stars. We didn't agree to the agreement so when we were walking outside the salesman Andy called us [non-permissible content removed]. In addition threatened us about taking on both of us in the parking lot. Ever felt so threatened at a dealership. Never come to this dealership!

So this guy Kevin, sales person, calls me, uses my phone number that was only provided for the car purchase to harass me, after I leave a review about him claiming the FICO score goes up to 900 after I clarified it does not go over 850. On top of that the dealership gave him the authority to call the customer and harass for leaving a review. I REPEAT This dealership will lie, cheat and then harass you for leaving a review just because they have your phone number and a copy of your license. Oh, and don't fall for their "Pre-Delivery" charges. I was looking to purchase a car for 30k, they added another $1500 for pre-delivery charge that is not advertised on any of their listing online. Is it legal for a dealership to contact you like that? Well, we shall find out after reports are filed.

I've always bought luxury cars: German, British, American, Japanese, but never Lexus. I went to this dealer ship only to be lied, to get my intelligence insulted and be rude to. If this is the retail experience one should expect from Lexus, I will go back to my German cars. However, if you are on a market for Lexus, take your business elsewhere.

Buyer Beware

We visited Tri-County Lexus to check out a certified pre-owned car they had advertised on the internet for $28,681. We went for a test drive and liked the car so we sat down to talk about the price. Now, I realize the internet price doesn't include tax, tags, and registration fee, so I'm expecting an out-the-door price about $2500 higher than the “Internet Price”. Needless to say I was a little surprised when the out the door price came to over $34,000. In addition to the tax, tags, and registration fees, there were other fees, which included; window glass etching fee, an added fee because we were going to pay cash instead of financing the car, an added fee because the car was certified, etc. There was also a problem with them showing me the Car Fax for this car, I had to ask 5 times (no exaggeration). Upon examining the Car Fax I found that the car had been in TWO accidents. I promptly brought this to the attention of the salesman in front of me and the manager hovering nearby. The salesman blurts out, “I didn't realize...” and the manager cuts him off and says “Well, they were only small fender benders”...hmmm...I'm thinking, you didn't know or you knew and it was no big deal, maybe you guys want to take a minute and get your stories straight. Needless to say, even after they contacted us the next day and wanted to make a deal, we decided to purchase from a more honest and upfront dealership.
