Awful Buying Experience
Went to our local Joyce Honda dealer looking at a 2017/2018 Honda Civic Si. After a short test drive there was a lot of pressure to make an offer and sign a contract. The salesman said they sell these car for $2000 over list and pressed us to make an offer and agree to pick up the car within two days, despite the fact that we had an online quote for MSRP minus $1 from this same dealer. The salesman also asked for a favorable review as a condition to accepting an offer below MSRP. Find another dealer and you will have a better car buying experience and save some money in the process.
Unethical and Deceitful Practice
Joyce Honda in Denville, NJ is one of the worst dealers to deal. Complete [non-permissible content removed]. First time buying a Honda. They show me a Accord with touring package and then they write up the sales order with an EXL package scribbled in small letters for a car that was not even in the showroom and never explained what an EXL package stood for. When i asked them to correct it, they very conveniently told me that i had signed an agreement for EXL. I have had very good experience dealing with car dealers in the past and so trusted them. This place and people including the sales manager are very dishonest and unethical people and i would not ever buy anything from them. Best part is even after they knew that they had sold a wrong car they not only would not correct the problem, but they wont return phone calls back after promising to call and this practice stops right from the top with the Sales Manager.
Go somewhere else!!
I usually don't post reviews but this place has horrible customer service when resolving an issue. There are Honda dealers everywhere so I recommend shoping somewhere where the customer comes first. I responded to an add they posted for a honda odyssey touring ELITE and when I arrived the sales women confirmed it was a touring elite as she showed me the car. I am a busy business owner myself, so I did a short test drive and the car performed well. The car was for my wife. They then ran me a blue book value for a touring elite to show that the car was priced well. I came back and purchased the car. When I got home i realized a few of the features that were in the elite were not in the car. I realized they sold me a touring instead of a touring elite. When I called about the issue and showed them the add they told me that the add was a mistake and shouldn't of said that. When i asked about their sales women confirming the car type they said "well she's new". I feel like a was duped into thinking i was getting a better deal then I actually got. The VP was to busy to discuss rectifying the issue so he turned me to his manager Joe. He was apologetic especially when i sent him the add. But made very little effort to make it right offering to buy me a dust buster. As if that would take the place of the central vac that came with the elite. I told him I didn't want any money back even though i feel i overpaid for the car. I told them if they installed a hitch for me I would consider the matter resolved. Would of cost maybe $200 for them to do. After all they certified the car by doing almost no maintenance on it. So it was not like they had a lot of money into the car. I told Joe I I don't need the money but it is the principle. Joe said he would find out if they could do it and call me back. I left a few more messages and Guess what "NO Callback" big surprise! This is how their manager deals with issues..no response. Not even a callback saying they couldn't do it. What horrible customer service!! I am going to cancel my additional warranty i purchased from them. I would never shop here again and neither will my friends or family!!! A $200 expense will cost them a ton of business in the future!
Best Car Buying Experience Ever!
We were directed to Joyce Honda by edmunds.com. From pricing to test drive to buying to pick up, this was the easiest and most painless car purchase experience we've ever had! We worked with Edgar Flores as the internet contact, and our sales person was Mario. Fantastic and I would highly recommend this dealer.
Service department is deceitful and rude
Bought a preowned Honda pilot here and before I put 50000 miles on it the transmission went. When I took it in for service when the trans first started acting up and was still under warrantee they doctored it up instead of replacing it under warrantee. Then the trans totally went 3 months after warrantee was up and when I asked what they could do the service manager was nasty about it and I was told too bad somebody's gotta pay for it but it won't be us. Take my word and don't do business here, this is the first bad review I have ever written and would not have took the time to write it but don't want anybody else to get raked over the coals by this scam of a dealership
I found a terrific car online at Joyce Honda, salesman Dave was excellent but after bringing my car home I found important parts missing for the Jeep hardtop (that the car came with) and after speaking to and emailing the GM he failed to resolve the problem so I am stuck buying the part myself and having a mechanic install it at a cost to me of $450.00, otherwise staff was great
Three time Joyce customer
Very hassle free buying experience at Joyce. I got a very competitive price quote within 30 minutes of my online inquiry. When I went in later that day, my salesman Manny had the car out front and ready for a test drive. After a hassle and pressure free negotiation with Manny and the sales manager Rudy, I was presented with an even better price. No tricks, no ploys, no hidden fees or dealer add-ons, no B.S. I picked the car up later that week; all the paperwork and financing documents took about 20 minutes and I was out. If I had to find one complaint, it was that I was unable to pick up the car on the day I wanted because it was the finance manager's day off. I had to come back the next day which was an inconvenience. I was very surprised that at a dealership of this size, there wasn't someone else available (on a Friday no less) to handle the paperwork and facilitate the sale. All in all though, I'm happy with the Joyce car buying experience and would recommend them. D.K.
Terrific folks in service and sales
Words can't begin to describe what an amazing person Larry S., general manager is. Make a long story short I was in a really tough predicament with another dealership who tried to strong arm me into buying a car I absolutely didn't want. Larry sat with me for several hours, carefully crafting a response, speaking to his higher-up at Honda and made me walk out feeling like a new person. He didn't owe me anything, yet went above and beyond to help me out. He absolutely saved me from a catastrophic mistake. Fast forward to later that month: I worked with both Rudy and then Chuck more closely. Rudy was instrumental in getting me to Larry originally and I can't thank him enough. Chuck is one of the nicest and most down to earth sales guys you will work with. He lets you move at your pace and I enjoyed the rapport I developed with him throughout the course of the month. I wouldn't hesitate to send someone else to him. Certainly as a sales guy he has quotas to meet but he will work with you until he helps you get the car you want. Dave in the finance department was great too, straight-forward in his explanation on things but also sarcastic and funny. Diana A. in Service has been repairing my Honda for 6 years. The most genuine service person I've ever worked with. She's the reason I stuck with Joyce and now in addition to Larry, why I'll remain a customer of theirs. You shouldn't bother going to another Honda dealership in NJ. This is absolutely your place and made the car-buying experience as good as it could be.
Great Sales experience
Several of our family members have purchased at least 7 Honda from this dealership over the past six years. In each case we were treated professionally with courtesy and provided a fair pricie for the vehicle purchased as well as the trade. I've recommended several folks aside from our family members, to see the salesman Jerry, who has always been very professional and helpful in making the sale of the model that met the customers desire/needs with fair pricing.
Just not wowed from the beginning.
Had a bad experience with this dealership a number of years ago. Gave them another chance, but did not get a quote for the model I indicated in the request. When I did get the correct quote it was too high compared with others and didn't want to start haggling.
Excellent experiance GREAT Dealer *****
I bought Honda CR-V and my experience was great and wonderful. The sales manager John is really very helpful and understanding who attend to all of my queries and concerns. He not only gave me the best price but make me feel valuable customer. I then worked with Ed who is also very helpful and knowledgeable. Ed came with me for a test drive and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction and took care of getting vehicle rechecked for my concerns. In all I had a very pleasant experience and got the BEST DEAL and value for my money!!! Kudos to Sales manager John and Ed for their professional approach and work ethics. Going forward if I buy any car and Joyce Honda has it I will not even look around because I trust them and will always go to them first. Jig B.
Joyce Honda is the place to go!
I went to several dealerships looking for a 2011 Civic Si Sedan. The car at this point is sort of tough to find, and seemingly the majority of dealerships i went to knew this and leveraged it against me. This was the complete opposite at Joyce Honda. I was getting sort of frustrated dealing with cars salesman and was complaining about to a friend who then recommended i go to Joyce Honda -- where he bought his wives car. So i called up to find out if they had the car in stock, the did. I then stopped by the dealership itself. The first thing i noticed when i walked in was the absence of pressure, in fact it seemed like a friendly low key kind of environment (right up my alley). I browsed about and eventually a salesman approached and introduced himself. He was the COMPLETE opposite of the people i had been dealing with prior. Very calm, laid back and matter of fact, all of which i appreciated. So, i told him what i was looking for -- civic si sedan 2011 in black or silver -- they only had white and blue in stock, but the salesman said he'd call around and see if he could get me the color i wanted. By the next morning he located the color and gave me a very reasonable price quote. Having been exposed to the usurious price quotes of the other pushy salesman i immediately told i'd buy and put a deposit down. Over the next few days they worked with me over the phone, email, and fax to get all the financing in place. in closing, as i was signing the papers, i told the salesman about my previous encounters at the other dealerships and how i really appreciated the lack of pressure at Joyce -- to which he smiled and told me he wasn't surprised. He told me Joyce was the 26th ranked dealership in the country in sales for this very reason. They don't do a lot of marketing, or advertising, but simply rely on referrals and repeat business. Absolutely correct! My friend referred me, and i'll be sure to tell anyone who's looking for a Honda to check out Joyce Honda! My first new car buying experience was extremely easy and painless, sans the pre-Joyce excursions and communications, because of the friendly and helpful staff at Joyce. ***** <-- five stars cheers!
