I just purchased a car last night and I worked with Mark Weatherby, he was so super friendly, gregarious and made the whole process feel more comfortable and relaxed. I don't often write reviews, but he was well deserving of one!
Was looking for a new Hyundai Accent. Mark Weatherby was great to work with and helped accommodate my schedule well. No surprises with the price or anything like that. I also didn't feel pressured at all to make the purchase right that day or anything.
Kevin, in finance, was also quite nice to work with and got through everything fairly quickly.
Pleasantly surprised with my sales experience at Hampton Hyundai
Purchased a new Elantra GT today at Hampton Hyundai. All negotiations were done over the phone with (Heather) Internet sales from a neighboring state. I would like to say that EVERYTHING Heather promised over the phone was honored when my dad and I arrived at the dealership the day of of signing. We were assigned a sale associate (Tina) to explain features and take a test drive. Very informative. Finance manager (Kevin) was extremely organized, straight forward , honest and mindful of our time. I have helped many family members purchase vehicles in the past in four different states. This dealership ran like a well oiled machine. It made me feel like my dad and I had one of the best sale experiences to date. The people I dealt with had true integrity. It's good to know that a business deal can go this smooth without even a handshake in this day and age. I tip my hat ! Great team ! Wonderful experience !
I am writing to talk about the great deal and experience we had at Hampton Hyundai. The online sales process was great and they were extremely responsive! The day of pickup went great as well, the car was ready to go and the process was very efficient. No one likes to sit around at the dealership and wait and there was little to none of that here. Kudos to the staff there and thanks for an awesome experience!
I don't normally write online reviews, but my experience buying a new Sonata at Hampton Hyundai was so pleasant I thought it a must. From beginning to end, the people there could not have been more pleasant, up front, easy going and informative. Both Tim and Dave, both great guys, bent over backwards to see that I got what I was looking for. In short, the whole process could not have been easier or more enjoyable.
As far as the Sonata goes, it's great. I've now had it a little over a month and it's a joy to drive and could not recommend it more highly. In the initial selection process, I considered a number of cars, including the Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry. In the end, I chose the Sonata and am very glad I did. It is a superior car at a better price.
Couple that with the buying experience with Tim at Hampton Hyundai, and you can't go wrong.
This is not a dealership that I would recommend for very busy, high end individuals or high end cars. I think they are probably very good at selling Fords and the lower models Hyundai, but when you get into the Genesis model, they are not recommended. This is my reasoning:
1. According to the manager, they only sell two Genesis per year.
2. As a result their sales people are not familiar with all of the functions on the Genesis. when I purchased my Genesis the top sales person for the dealership did not know how to use many of the functions. As a result, my on-boarding process with the car was sketchy at best. I had to return to the dealership three times just to understand some of the basics.
-How to use the emergency brake.
-How to shut off the wipers when you go through a car wash.
-Not to mention, the navigation system, setting up the Sirius radio, etc.
It finally came to a point where they had this very young 21-22 year old help me. These individuals tend to be very technologically savvy.
I would not have had to make three additional trips to the dealership, had the on-boarding process been properly done.
In addition, if you have purchased high end cars in the past, you probably have had a rental or loaner and they have probably washed the car at the end of the service. Getting a loaner at Ford-Hyundai can be a difficult task and is only available if they know that the services are going to take an extended period of time.
In addition, they do not wash your car after service.
Friends of mine have their car picked up, and a loaner brought to them, and then returned on service. Herb Chambers does this. in my estimation This dealership is not, and does not understand how to service high end vehicles and high end individuals.

After the initial contact via e-mail, we went to this dealer not intending to buy but only to look at colors.
I had a much lower price verbally from another dealer.
After I told the sales person this information the general manager came to me and said that Hampton would match this lower price.
Although the car we wanted was not on the lot, Hampton located the car and matched the lower price.
I was very pleased with the entire process.
Unlike the two reviews given before me, I have had no problems with this dealer ship.
They have always treated me fairly and with respect .
It is one of the few dealerships that I actually felt comfortable in.
The prices have been fair and comparable (for both trade ins and purchasing) and the service both helpful and friendly.
The saleswoman I worked with was also knowledgeable and friendly and was able to address all of my questions and concerns.
Unlike others, my experience with the actual sales was good.
They never pushed things, and tended to have very open discussions.
It was a little difficult to negotiate, as mentioned, but there seemed to be no more major resistance than any other dealership.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience there.
The optional service agreement comes in two flavors, neither are worth it, but if you want to regret to a lesser degree go with the maintenance plan, the breakdown plan is absolutely useless on used vehicles. If you have a good insurance company and good driving habits, don't bother extending the warranty either, the dealership offers almost nothing under the plans. If you do not want to read the whole agreement word by word, don't sign it.
I have made three service calls here so far, and have left a little depressed after each. Apart from finding out at each occasion that my request was not to be covered under any warranty or service plan, I found out that the prices were higher than elsewhere, and that considering the lack of service, the vehicle was sold to me (by this dealership) for a highly inflated price.
In future I will not be returning to this dealership for any service. I am strongly considering selling my vehicle because I have a bad feeling that keeping it might cost me a fortune over the long run...

The guys are fairly nice on the outside, and do spend their time giving you their spiels. I had a pleasant experience before I committed to buy. The price however, was made to seem negotiable at the outset, but once I committed to buy the guy refused to budge. I bough a certified used vehicle with a good 30k on it for a price that was just about 2K under a new one! (Yes, I blame me...)
The extended warranty and service plans are absolute ripoffs, in three visits so far they have covered nothing. I don't expect them to in the future either. Read service review for more on that.
Overall I bought a Hyundai Sonata base model with electronics package for $20k + useless service and warranty for another $3.5k - I wish I had shopped around. The salesman never corrected me when I stated my assumptions about the vehicle about its features and such, some of the features he said it had, are not there... again, I was in a bit of a time crunch to buy or I would have shopped around more!
