I mistakenly interpreted a dash board notification of transmission temperature as a warning signal, brought the Canyon into the dealer, and they checked it out. Within 30 minutes, they had assessed the problem (there wasn’t any) and returned the truck to me...no charge. Athey couldn’t hav been more helpful.

The salesman was great and met my needs and deal. He didn't insult my intelligence. But it also shouldn't have taken a big run around by management to acquire this. I renounced what I could afford and the first deal was too high. If I got the deal I was looking for in the end then it shouldn't have taken a bunch of haggling to achieve this. It should have been a flat out yes or no in the beginning.

Bogus coupons& certificates

Shortly after GM announced the end of the Pontiac brand I received a certificate for four visits over the next year for lube-oil-filter, four tire rotation, and 27 point vehicle inspection, good for my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. After the first visit I became suspicious that all the work was not being performed. For the next visit I marked the rear tires with a big white dot and I removed the cabin air filter. The car was returned to me after one hour where the service advisor told me all the work had been performed. A quick glance at the rear tires confirmed that the tires had not been rotated. I then asked about the condition of the cabin air filter and was told that it looked fine. At this point I confronted the service advisor telling him I knew the tires had not been rotated and the cabin filter was in the back seat. He looked rather flushed and then blurted out that GM reimbursed the dealer only $19.00. He said no more but the implication was that they do not perform all the agreed to work because they don't make enough on it. Now I'm unsure what work was actually performed. Was the oil and filter even changed? Please be vigilant as to what work has been performed and stay away from shoddy dishonest dealerships such as Dartmouth Motors.
