Deal, sorry, no deal, the old bait and swirch.
I called about 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan with 5200 miles they had advertised. They had it all ready to go when I got there. Warmed up and in the garage. We looked it over with the salesman and then out for the drive as they looked over our trade. We made the deal with the sales manager and salesman shook hands and filled out the stuff for our financing. All good. Then bam, SORRY if you want that used van it will be $2000 more. That one looks the same as the otherone and it also has 5200 miles but its $2000 more. "You can leave mad but I don't want you to hate us" but we need $2000 more than the deal you just made and shook hands on. Crappy, what ever happened to shaking hands and a man's word. Stand behind your deal. Sketchy. If I would have read the reviews from the last week or two I would not have even went there. Looks like they have had a rough couple weeks. Stupid me.
Nothing but problems
On June 20th 2017 I bought a 2014 nissian rogue with 43 thousand miles on it. I was so excited that car looked awesome and was what I wanted houghtbi was getting an amazing deal. Well I took car home and next day heard loud squeal so called the dealer they said to make appointment to look at it so made appointment which took a week to get in. Finally got in and found out they had over looked that alternator had problems and they would fix it no charge so I got a loaner. It took them 12 days to fix it so I said I want new car found a different car and took it to a trusted mechanic got thumbs up so dealership worked with me to get it. The only catch was I had pay taxes and title both cars. So they told me don't worry it only 700 dollars I said is that for everything they said yes I said including title they said yes. So went in sign paper work and asked again and they said no for everythigbit be close to 1100 for both cars and everything so dealership covered rest. Well now it July 18th and titling would be due on car on 20th if still had it well dealership still has not gotten info to my DMV and DMV said it be 950 dollars for just one car. I have had nothing but head aches from this place. I have bought my last two cars hears never had this problem I will never again buy from them, get a car fixed here or let a friend buy here. They give you run around don't even contact you to update on work and are not friendly. Are salesmen is only reason that some what salavaged are visit the used car sales manager gave us run around. He kept running around questions never fully answered them
Runaround Given with NO service provided
This is a horrible service department!!!! I received a Safety Recall notice and called Baxter Service to schedule its repair. After several attempts by me, they finally scheduled an appointment. The day before the scheduled appointment, they called to cancel saying that "they had to order the parts" and "would call me once received". It has taken TWO MONTHS and I decided to follow up since they have never called back, even to provide an update. On the phone call today, they insisted that I had the wrong VIN number (per the Safety Recall notice) and that my vehicle did not exist. Really? I decided to call the toll free number on the Safety Recall notice and the girl was able to identify the owner, as well as the VIN number. She assured me that the VIN is accurate and suggested I go to another dealership. I have taken her advice and decided to try another dealership. I do not recommend this dealership!!!! I will attempt to place this review on other online locations with the hope of helping others prevent dealing with a company that obviously is unaware of Customer Service!
Do not buy from here
There are reasons that I don't like buying use cars. Use cars will likely to have some type of problems. It doesn't make it any better when the dealer didn't tell you about the problems before buying the car. They inform us that they check everything and will fill all the fluids before we leave. The next day we check evrything again and they didn't fill anything beside gas. The coolant level was way below the low line. There are brakes problem, high beam light bulb missing, another light bulb is out and srs light is on and the serpentine belt have a lot of cracks. I waste my time and money trying to figure out the problems, then ask them if they can pay for it since we just bought the car a few days ago. They said that they will pay up to $100 to for us to take it to any dealer to diagnose the problems. Srs light is on because of the dealt belt tensioner, brakes problems because the previous owner painted the calipers and got paint on the rotors/brake pads so it contaminated the brake pads. Luckily srs light can be fix under warranty for free but it gonna cost us almost $400 just to fix the front two brakes. Called the dealer and a day later they inform us they won't pay for us to fix it here in Des Moines but they will fix it for free if we drive it over to Omaha. That's a 2 hours drive and why would we want to drive the car for 2 hours when there is a brakes problems? What if we crash because of that? We can't take it on the weekend and that is the only time we have avaliable. If I take it on the weekdays that mean I have to miss work and I won't get pay for the time that I miss. What kind of car dealer that don't disclose the problem before selling the car? I ask them that And they said that what they trying to figure out. Well, they should've check it before even putting the car out on the lot. And they said they check everything before handing us the car?. Don't ever go to Baxter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Omaha. I would never go there again and will tell everyone I know not to go there either. This is how pissed off I am about this dealer.
way too longer service time
I was not helped at the time I was told, they said it would be 4 hours after my appointment time. The service person finally stated I could come back at a later date since I was not being taken care of in a timely manner. The next available time was 13 days later, this is a very ridiculous amount of time to be out a vehicle especially one you bought a few months ago brand new. So no, I would not recommend someone to buy an expensive car only to be told they should be able to look at the broken items in a few weeks.
NOT the same Baxter we dealt with in 1999
2006 Vibe nothing but a pain in our butts. Agreement made for new wheels (all rusted) and wheel covers (1 was badly broken). Kept the car for a few days to take care of, got new wheels, not covers. When we got there thinking we just had to get the keys, get in and drive off, they couldn't find my keys. Took over 15 min to find them. In that time, we figured out the wheel covers weren't replaced as agreed to. Waited for over an hr to have that taken care of. When done, they had run our car thru their car wash but in the process, was spraying undercoating on a truck near our car and got undercoating all over the passenger side. Wouldn't scrub off, so they had to buff it out. What was suppose to be a quick trip to pick up the Vibe, took over 2 hrs. Made us late for an appointment. Then I was having troubles with my key working in the ignition and it won't even open my doors. I have called and called about the issues, but they keep blowing me off, saying it must be something I'm doing. Just got a notice in the mail on Saturday, there is a safety recall on my very vehicle, 1 being the engine may not start. I also asked about my key they gave me, which does not have the black cover on the top, so there's no chip. They said there's nothing they can do about it. The GM service guy that's going to fix my recall issue, said that's a blatant lie. I will have to pay for it and it could run as high as $80 & would have cost the dealer maybe $40. Before all these issues, I suggest my 26 yr old son go there to buy his car. So he did and they tricked him into buying $3000 worth of coverage on the vehicle he insisted he did not want. The person pushing the extended warranty garbage said he would sneak it in at no cost to my son. When my son went to pay for the plates and taxes, it was a lot more than was expected. We looked at his paperwork and found the extra charge. We had to fight hard and I had to get nasty, but they took it off. I feel they have risked my life not looking into the issues I've been having with it not starting with the key. If I have the problem that is explained in the letter for the safety recall, my 2006 Vibe could cut out on me while i'm driving on the highway. I went straight to the internet and Googled my car, and this recall was found in August of 2010. Letters were mailed out in January of this year. I called my salesman about my issues in October, December, and my key issue just 3 wks ago. I feel they did not care about my safety and the issues I was having. I'm appalled, disappointed, mad, and sad all rolled into 1. I will ever step foot on a Baxter lot ever again.
Never going back
We attempted to purchase our second car through a Baxter dealership, but I guess we should have learned from our first experience. We had bough a Ford Fusion from their Ford store and the outcome from that situation didn't go well either. They had a promotion going on saying that if you bought a new card you got a free TV (no stipulations on the commercial). They told us that we got too good of a deal and wouldn't give us the TV when we bought the car. My fiance at the time really had her heart set on the car so we got it anyways (stupid mistake). The car ended up having issues with the Sync system as well as started shifting funny. The Sync issue the service department couldn't get figured out and took them about 2 weeks of back and forth to finally fix. The transmission issue ended up being that no one checked the fluid levels before delivery of the car and it was a quart low on transmission fluid. The dealership wouldn't do anything for us so we finally ended up having to complain to Ford who went above and beyond with helping us. So this time around we look into trading my 2 door Jeep in for a 4 door Jeep at their Chrysler/Jeep store. During the deal they tried pulling the same crap with us saying that they couldn't give us the TV because we were getting too good of a deal, but that didn't fly with us this time so we had to stick to our convictions about that before they finally gave in. Then as soon as we took the car home ABS issues began creeping up. I called the salesman the next day and explained that I wanted to get it fixed as soon as possible but that I also had my rehearsal for my wedding that night. He said to bring it up but we just ran out of time that day. When I called them back and explained why the salesman Rodney chewed me out and said that I didn't need to be [violative content deleted] (which I wasn't until he started chewing me out). The dealership also lost one of the keys to our new Jeep, and when we did finally get it in to get it looked at they said the ABS module was bad and couldn't get it fixed for over a week... on a 2 day old car mind you. The finance lady didn't follow our directions on how we wanted it financed. You name it, everything went south on this deal. So by the 4th day after buying it (and physically having the car for less than a day of it), we asked to back out of the deal because of all the issues going on. The sales manager said that the bank had already completed the contract and the deal was final... outright lie, the bank hadn't even gotten the paperwork when I called them. After finally having to come up to the dealership to speak to the GM (he wouldn't return our calls) they gave us our old Jeep back and we parted ways. Never again will I go back to this dealership (Performance or Baxter as they are all owned by the same company) for any brand of vehicle.
Home from Iraq
I purchased a vehicle from the Military Car Sales program here on my base in Iraq. It was shipped to Baxter in early December. I have contacted Baxter through their web site several times and have gotten no response at all. When the Military Sales Rep was contacted by phone...the only rep who handles Military Sales....she did not know anything about it and claimed she could not look into it without the VIN...how many Jeep Rubicons bought in Iraq can they have??? I had planned on having several aftermarket items installed on my vehicle through the dealership. I wont be doing so now and furthermore will never consider Baxter for vehicle purchasing in the future and will share my experience with anyone who asks. Very disapointed in a "home town delership"
