I took my Dad down to look at new 2015 Foresters in May. Dad had a trade in he got a fair return on it. Our salesman Lincoln answered Dads questions professionally. The sales manager John Olson went the extra mile to ensure the sale. He gave Dad a week to think over his decision and held the car for him. It didn't take a week but glad we had that opportunity. Dad is pleaded with the Forester and Village Subaru. .........Tony D.

"Joshua, I appreciate your email, but I am not sure what you want us to do to help you. These cars are extremely rare, and you live in Worcester. David Mack Internet Manager Village Subaru [phone contact removed] I'm not sure what living in Worcester has to do with finding rare cars. Perhaps people from Worcester shouldn't look beyond Worcester to find cars. Patrick Subaru was happy to help me with the rare car I was looking for and even delivered it in 4 days. Don't bother [non-permissible content removed]

Owner of new Outback

by Kmcinnis on 02/07/2014

Our salesman, Lincoln was very professional, informative and patient. EVERY member of the staff was courteous, professional and supportive. By far, this was the most enjoyable car purchase that we have ever experienced! We would highly recommend this dealership.

Excellent car buying experience

by MichaelSK on 05/01/2013

We worked with Anthony R., Senior Sales representative. He was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. No-pressure. We were initially unsure if Impreza or Forester would better fit our needs (now with 3 drivers including new teenage driver). Anthony encouraged us to test drive both cars. We were very finicky in that we wanted one specific color and wanted certain hard to find features (Nav/rear camera). Anthony and his manager worked very hard to get us the ONE available in the northeast that met our desires. We very much appreciated all the hard work and attention. He was extremely patient going over the car with all 3 of us (especially our daughter). Although this is our first Subaru, we plan to purchase another Subaru from Anthony in the future.

Don't let the superficial nice guy attitudes fool you...

by catamount21 on 06/02/2012

I dealt with John, David, and Eric. Stay away! Upon signing my purchase agreement and paying for the car the dealership withheld the car for over 2 weeks. A process they told me would take a few days. Their ineptitude made it seem like they had not sold a car before, they were forgetting pieces of paperwork that needed to be signed and failed to return my phone calls. As a resolution to these issues the manager told me they would deliver the car to my home. This turned out to be a false promise but after a heated discussion they agreed to drive it half way. I reminded them twice to leave my plates off for insurance purposes and deliver the car with their dealer plates since they were driving it. Upon them arriving to the agreed drop off my plates were on the car, they drove it with my plates despite my wishes. A tear in the upholstery that they promised to do their best to fix was the only damage present to the car upon my signing the purchase agreement. They did not fix this and upon receiving the car the situation degraded. Upon receiving the car they also failed to include my warranty information. I noticed there was a problem upon driving the car and hearing very loud road noise that was not present during the test drive. I don't know if there was another test drive after I agreed to buy it or if it was the salesmen delivering the car that caused the damage. Regardless there was damage that was not there upon me agreeing to buy the car and that would not be present if a true 151-point inspection was done. That was the whole reason I bought a certified used car, I paid a little bit extra for the piece of mind for not having to worry about any damage or preexisting issues to the car. This however was not the case, the physical body damage included damage to the front shroud of the bumper, which had a 10-inch crack in it and scuffing along the bottom edge. A plastic retaining bracket that held the fender and the front bumper shroud together was also snapped. Damage was also noted under the car with snapped splash-shields with many plastic rivets missing. More plastic brackets that held on the bottom of the bumper shroud were snapped in half. The grill of the car was missing many plastic rivets and was hardly attached to the car along with the front bumper shroud. Basically all of the front body components of the car were just barely hanging on. After repeated calls and no returned phone calls I have resolved to try and fix it the best I can. Not up to par

by mortthanatos on 12/28/2011

Salesman was friendly but took a lot of prodding to get info. We ordered the car we wanted. It took about 7 days longer to arrive than promised and the dealer made no effort to keep us informed - we had to keep calling him for progress reports. It arrived with the wrong upholstery color - we took it anyway. Radio reception was bad - we discovered they hadn't attached the antenna. Then the salesman gave us a long talk about how we should rate him #1 when Subaru asked us to complete an online survey. We didn't. Overall, they weren't unfriendly, but didn't seem very interested in selling cars. There was also no follow-up.

Professionalism and commitment to excellence

by chlin431 on 02/25/2011

I hate the back and forwards negotiations when buying a car. Point blank. Not with this dealership. You send in the online inquiries, they answered quick with straight forward quotes. Their quotes may not be the lowest but is at the low end of many. (And if you have a lower quotes, congrates, they will match or beat that price. It happens to me.) By telling you the "Total Out the Door Cost", which includes tax, documentary fee and the fee for new plates/registration/title/sticker there is no hidden fees or any surprises. I had a great experience here and will recommend to others.

Poor Sales Experience

by jeannewerner on 01/01/2010

We ran Edmund's TMV for the car that we wanted and offered $790 more than the TMV for the car. When the dealer was unwilling to make the deal we left. The problem occurred when David Mack, Internet Mgr, called back and made their same offer that was still $300 or $1,090 more than the TMV. He told us that the sales tax deduction was ending and when we said that we'd wait for the next program, he argued that there wouldn't be another program. Then he said that he couldn't believe that we would give up the deal for $300. When my husband said that he was losing the sale for $300, he said that he wasn't losing the sale because he could always sell the car. I sent him an email with Edmunds' TMV and stated that we would not be buying a Subaru because he was rude. Instead of ignoring my email or apologizing, Mr. Mack took the opportunity to write back to argue that he is not rude. Here is the text from Mr. Mack's email, "Being that you and I have never spoken, I tend to disagree with your statement about being "rude". I was in no way, shape, manner or form rude. I emailed, and left you a very pleasant message after you left, letting you know we wanted your business. When I spoke with your husband, I was very straight forward, honest, and expressed again that we want your business." Is this good customer service? I don't think so.

A Very Good Dealer

by themick1 on 11/19/2009

I shopped for a new car for some time and shopped at many dealerships. Village Suburu was by far the most honest and also had quality vehicles for a real value. It seemed every other dealership I visited either treated me like I was dumb, or the Sales Person was dumb, or there product was poor, or there prices were outragous. Village Subaru is the only dealership where this wasn't true. The dealership also helped me in correcting a complex problem with Subaru America. I found the Village Subaru staff: Chris Backman, David Mack, and John Olson and Karen Quinn of Subaru America all very helpful. I am very satisfied and Village Subaru. It will be the first place I shop next time I need a car.

Pitiful Attitude towards Customer

by ceosion on 08/05/2009

I never made it past a few email exchanges, but from the very first email, the village Subaru representative ( David Mack ) was defensive, blunt and rude. We had a bit of a back-and-forth on their policy for the CARS regulations, and the whole thing was just very unpleasant. In one of their last emails to me, David addressed me by the wrong name and flat out told me their weren't interested in my business. Good thing they're not the only option!

Typical Car Dealer on the Sales Side - Avoid Them

by brianma on 12/23/2007

My purchase was easy as we get Subaru VIP pricing through work. In addition, Subaru had rebates and cheap financing incentives. Sales Guy (Eric) claimed you couldn't get VIP and Subaru incentives. Got an email from Subaru the next day that said that you get VIP pricing plus our current incentives. Called on this and gee, yeah they made a mistake. Suddenly the trade-in number needed to be looked at. Now all northeast dealers use Galves to lowball used car prices, but they suddenly claimed my car had excess mileage to the tune of a $4K deduction. Now the car was four model years old with just 48K miles or 12K per year - doesn't show up as excess on any of the other sites (here, KBB, etc.). Called Subaru VIP and told them I wanted Metrowest or Patrick instead. They told me to take the letter to either and they would honor it. 20 minutes at metrowest and a deal was struck saving me $3K from Village's best offer because they were fair in their dealings on the used car and didn't ignore the VIP discount plus rebate pricing.

Go somewhere else

I bought my 2007 Forester from Village Subaru. They seemed nice enough and I got the best deal out of all the dealers within 30 minutes from Boston. The techs seems not to care at all about taking any sort of care handling your car. I ordered the subwoofer as an option. It was not in so I had to bring it back to the dealer after purchasing. They installed it, but also scratched the center console molding, climate control knobs and punctured the surrounding black softer molding; obviously with a screwdriver trying to wedge it all back in. My brand new car was given back to me like this. The sales manger kind of acted like I was being an unreasonable perfectionist. I showed him the damage and the work and lack of care really spoke for itself. They did fix it, but not without damaging some else. A week later, I noticed after washing the car, a gouge on the exterior molding unerneath the door that had obviously been touched up. I didn't notice it when I picked it up and shame on me because a week later when I did, they of course denied it. That was 5 months ago and now that it's getting cold, I turn on my heated seats and nothing. They worked when I got it. Turns out when they did the original work, the techs never hooked them back up! It took me twenty minutes to fix. There was no way in hell I was going to bring it back to Village Subaru. Who knows what they would have damaged fixing the seats. They also never protected any of the interior like the seats and floors, so there were dirty prints everywhere in my brand new car. I also had to make a big deal about getting a loaner and not being charged. I'm sure other people have had decent experiences there, but mine was not. And car dealers wonder why they have a reputation of being untrustworthy.
