I purchased a vehicle from National Motors in Waldorf, MD. I have to say the service was excellent! My salesman was Markeith Broadwater and he was a true professional. He kept me informed all during the process and never me alone for long periods like some dealers do. He ensured that I was 100% satisfied with the vehicle and the sale. Worst Experience Ever!

Stay away from these people. They sold a car that hadn't been examined and wasn't ready to sell. For weeks my son was told practically daily that the car he bought would be ready for pick up. and now two weeks later the car is still not ready. We've made several trips to the dealership which is an hour from home only to learn the car still needs repairs.

I absolutely loved our salesman, James. He was very attentive from the moment we walked in the door, even though his desk was the farthest away and he had a customer. He was very hardworking. He made our transaction enjoyable. I never felt that I was not getting the attention that I wanted. He stayed with us through the long process of making financial deals until the entire process was complete. I highly recommend if purchasing used vehicle to go to National Motorsof Ellicott City , and to find James to complete the experience.

I called into National Motors multiple times and no one got back to me right away. I eventually called and spoke to a manager named Coley and he said he’s sorry for no one getting back to you in a timely manner however he’s going to set me up with his top salesman Anthony Hartwell and we’ll put you in a car right away. Anthony Hartwell and Coley made the deal happen ASAP and to also mention that Anthony came to pick me up in order for me to get my Chevy Malibu because I had no way of getting to Ellicott City. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I am a new car buyer who is very disappointed with the experience i am currently having with the Waldorf branch. The sale process went very smooth. We got to check out different vehicles and found the one we liked the most, a 2011 Chevy Traverse. The inside of the vehicle was very dirty so our sales rep Lachan told us they have a great detail team who would clean it up like new, so that made me feel at ease about the interior. When we finished the sale process they took it to the bay to get detailed. It was after closing time for them so they were pretty much was rushing out to go home. As soon as we got into the car we can see the filth still there. I immediately went to speak to Lachan and she told us to just bring it back in the morning and they will do a good cleaning to it. The dealership opened at 10am i believe and that is when we dropped off the vehicle. We did not get a call the whole day to let us know if the vehicle was ready to be picked or not so we waited until i got off from work around 5pm to pick it up. When we got there the vehicle was still sitting in the exact same spot as we left it. We looked inside and nothing has been done to it. Lachan told us to give her until 7pm and it will be done. Got back at 7:30 pm and we could see a slight difference but it was still dirty. The whole 3rd row of our SUV had not even been vacuumed. You could see chips and other trash all on the floor in the back. At this point we were just so irritated that we just took our SUV and left. That very next day we noticed that the check engine light was on and the AC was not blowing cold air. We took it up to them again to be checked out. They told us the parts would be here by the end of the week. We bought our car on Sunday 7.22.18, the parts should have been there by Thursday or Friday. We have not received a call at all that week. So on Monday 7.30.18 i called the Waldorf branch and spoke to Ali to see if the parts were there. He gave some lame excuse about the mechanic they have went on vacation and he pretty much was not sure if the parts were there or not so he would have to give me a call back. I never got a call back regarding the parts but 30 mins after speaking to Ali i got a call from Tony who asked me to come pass to sign some more paperwork because my payments had decreased. So after work we drove to the Waldorf branch and was greeted by Ali who was so apologetic about not getting back to me and it was very busy but yes the parts are here so just drop off the SUV in the morning and we will take care of you. He did not even know we were there to sign some paperwork. Next day 7.31.18 we dropped off the vehicle at 11am. I gave my keys to Tony the manager and i got dropped off at work. Starting calling there around 2:30pm to see when i can expect the SUV to be ready. The receptionist answered and told me i need to speak to Tony so she transferred me to his line. I got no answer on his line so i kept calling back. The receptionist told me she will leave him my name and number and he will call me right back, but never called me. After work at 5:30 pm we just drove up there and again my SUV was in the same spot as we left it. We went inside to speak to Tony and asked him was it ready. He went over to talk to the mechanic and came back out after 10mins. He told us the mechanic has been so busy today but it will be ready by tomorrow. We expressed our frustration and let them know this is a big inconvenience because we need both of our cars to get around. We have children and it seems like they are just telling us anything to get us out of there. So Tony tells us to give them 30 mins and they can put the car back together so we can drive it out but still need to bring it back tomorrow. Our SUV was not even being worked on at that time so i don't know who's vehicle he was referring to. We spoke to the mechanic that was there and he assured us that the part would be there in the morning and he will work on our car as soon as they get the part. We were asking them if they can provide us with a loaner a vehicle until they get ours straight but they just kept saying that's above my pay grade and they could not do anything. Only advise they offered me was to take my vehicle back home and bring it back the next day, which came from another guy with a short hair cut that sits in the finance office. We went home upset once again. So today 8.1.18 at 1pm my husband drove past there to see what was the progress of the SUV. The vehicle still had not been moved. Now only one part is there and they could not work on the SUV because the mechanic was very busy. My husband had to go in a raise his voice fro something to be done. They are taking the SUV to the SUNOCO to get worked on there and should be ready by 5pm. We are still going to have to deal with this again when the other part comes in. I am so sick of this place and the staff there lying and telling people what they want to hear instead of the truth. Now we are short a vehicle and they do not seem to care. All they care about is making the sale. After that your own your own. I have a 2 year warranty and i hope nothing else goes wrong with the SUV because i will have to continue to deal with these [non-permissible content removed] who can give two cares about how we feel. What i do know is that this will be my first and last time car shopping at National Motors and i have told all my family and friends about my experience there. They are horrible!!

Great Dealership - Very pleased with my new car

I cannot put in to words how happy I am with the car that I purchased as well as, my entire experience at National Motors of Ellicott City. The two employees that I personally dealt with, Joh Moran and Kenneth are great guys and did not try to rip me off or role in bogus charges into the finance contract, which is unfortunately customary practice for some dealerships, but it is not here! The entire experience from start to finish was very easy and they truly made it clear that they value their customers and want repeat business. after my purchase, the two of them have still been easy to reach and followed up on everything that they said they would since I purchased the car 2 weeks later. I have bought cars in the past from numerous dealerships and have never had an easier/honest/upfront used car dealership experience than I had at National Motors. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quality vehicle at a price you will not find elsewhere to take their business here, you will be happy you did!

At first I was very happy with National motors. They got me approved for a loan, I had decent credit but I’m on disability so very low income. I bought a 2015 Kia Optima. I was told it was 13,000 and they could drop it down to 11,000 because the car I picked out and started the process with, which was also a 2015 Kia Optima wasn’t available due to title problems. They told me to find close to the same thing and they’d match the price. Then the price of the trade I received isn’t what I was told either. Bottom line I paid about 5000 more then I was supposed to. When it came to my tags, can we say headache? They were supposed to transfer my tags cause I still had a year left and the were handicap tags. Did they, no the didn’t. Then the lady I talked to about got a little snippy when I said you were supposed to transfer my tags. I got the manager and told him what happened and he said he take care of it. Two weeks later I called to find out what’s going on with my tags and the same lady tells me again my tags are ready. I told her again I didn’t wanna accept my tags and the manager told you to fix the problem. She started getting nasty and I’ll admit I said things in my frustration I shouldn’t have said to a lady. After I Apologized she hung up on me. When I called back she got really nasty telling me I’m no one and was so unprofesstional. I went there to talk to the manager and when I ran into her at the dealer she started in on me in front on all the customers and every one else. So because some one didn’t do there jobs I had to go to MVA and get my HC tags myself and pay for all new tags. The car has obvious Signs of water damage all over the car but they claim it wasn’t in the Flood by they’re other location. I will say this, I talked to the owner and he said they will look into it and see about the water damage. I know this was a long review but I wanted to just explain a few problem I’ve had, I won’t get into the rest. Just be careful. This was at the Waldorf location. As for the people there I don’t have a problem with. My sales person was a nice guy, is name was Ali. I would recommend seeing him if you still go there.

purchased a vehicle only to find out that it had frame damages during a trade in process that they failed to mention ,also they added this information on the notice to buyer form before submitting to MVA which I never received in my document package. they hand write most of the information on the form so they can do this type of stuff to people. MVA confirmed this action has been done multiple times by this company, but with your signature signed ,it's nothing they can do. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE !!!!!!!!!! National Motors will get you years later you will find out if you don't get the form Called "NOTICE TO BUYER"

Don't Buy Your Car From Here!

I bought a 2015 Nissan Altima from National Motors Inc on Friday, March 2, 2018. A salesman named Roger assisted me. My car completely shut off in the middle of the road while driving the very next day. That following Monday I took the car back to the dealership to let their service manager Jorge work on my car. He advised me that 2 sensors were broken and after fixing them that my car would be fine. I left the dealership that day (March 5, 2018) and the car shut off on me again the next day (Tuesday March 6, 2018) while I was driving my kids to school. I called the dealership and requested a refund. I lost allot of time at work causing me to miss money. The manager Kenneth was very rude to me and my father. Yelling at me and refusing to refund my money. I then began to do research through carfax. I found out that the Nissan dealer that performed the last inspection instructed National Motors to replace the transmission, which they knew about and didn't. I also found out that the company who did the Maryland State inspection advised National Motors that during the inspection that the car was stalling but they still sold me the car knowing this. After allot of back and forth they replaced the transmission. I took my car to an actual Nissan dealership who advised me national motors did not install my transmission correctly. I then had to take my car to Nissan to get fixed. Nissan then advised me that I needed a new key fob, which National Motors agreed to fix. I've called them three weeks straight to get my key fixed and their finance manager Robert told me no they aren't replacing my key, after the new service manager Brandon already said he would. Robert was very rude and yelling at me on the phone and even hung up on me. To this day Im still going back and forth with them to get my key fixed. After they lied about having 2 keys for my car.

Unsafe Work Completed

I purchased a 2002 Jaguar convertible with the agreement that the airbags must be functioning for safety reasons. The airbag warning light was on during the test drive. They agreed that a safe car would be delivered to me. After they worked on the car and said they even took it to another location to find out what was wrong with the airbag before ordering the part and then fixing it, it was not fixed. They may have worked on the passenger airbag as explained but a side airbag is also not working. They then FIXED it by REMOVING the bulb that indicated that there was an airbag malfunction. They told me it was fixed. The car then started beeping and airbag alert on the way home from the dealership. They indicated everything was fine with it and had no idea why the alert was sounding. I took it to the local Jag dealership and had their jaguar mechanic look at it. Not only was he able to quickly tell me that the bulb had been removed but that the system showed that a side airbag was not working and could impact the functionality of all of airbag system as an entire system. I contact two people at the dealership yesterday after finding this out and no one has had the courtesy to contact me. Never again!

was happy with my purchase but now disappointed

I had been searching for a car and came across National Motors as they had a wide range of pricing and great selection plus with a recent credit problem they were able to help get me financed. I purchased a 2011 BMW 550i and was happy with the car for two days until the check engine and transmission lights came on and the car went into safe mode. After restarting the car the problem was cleared until the next morning when it happened again. I contacted my sales rep and he put me in touch with the mechanic for the company. After a brief conversation he asked for me to get the car to them so they could fix it. The car was un-drivable so i had to have it towed at my expense for them to diagnose and hopefully repair. After a few days i received a call that the car was fixed and that the computer had to be reset. As i live to far away i had the car towed back to me, again at my expense. The car seemed fine for a week until the problem happened again, once again i contacted my sales rep and then the mechanic. i was told that he had reset the computer and that he was unsure why it was happening and that i may have to take it to BMW for them to look at the car as it may be a more in depth problem. This was unsettling as i have only had the car for less than 30 days and that they (National Motors) were not going to stand behind the product they sold. I took my car to a BMW specialist who ran a diagnoses and told me of many problems with the car. It need new plugs, coil-packs, tune up, 02 sensors, the system was failing because it needed to be reprogrammed and would consistently fail and go into fail safe mode and that doing these items should help. I contacted the dealer and they said they were not responsible for these items and that i would have to have the repairs done at my cost. Before i could do the repairs i had to take my car through state inspection as it was due (i reside in New Jersey), the car failed inspection. I had the work done and drove the car roughly 1500 miles and took the car to be reinspected and again the car failed. I had the BMW people recheck and reset the computer and drove another 700 miles and had the car reinspected and it failed again. This is a huge problem. The car that i purchased in Maryland y law is required to pass Maryland State inspection before the car can be registered. I also know that selling a car out of state they dealer does not have to do this but the car is still by law has to pass state inspection. I recently contacted the dealership to tell them that i cant get the car passed through state inspection and was told you purchased the car AS IS and that they cant do anything, however i was promised a call by the GM. I have yet to receive a phone call. This is the responsibility of the dealer to make sure this car is able to pass state inspection. Buyer beware!

Do not buy from this dealership! Save yourself the stress and hassle! I was sold an unsafe car, went back for the same issue more than three times, and they are unwilling to help. I haven't even had the vehicle for three months yet, and most of the time it's been there "getting repaired". Most of the things that come out of them are lies. Highly do not recommend buying from here!
