I got my new Outlander Sport there after totaling my Sportrack in a winter ice storm two years ago. John Gray was excellent,he listened to me and knew exactly what was needed for my type of driving, long highway commute. 2.4L w/ 4×4 The service team is awesome too! They are friendly and quick. They have always done a great job.

Never been to this dealership before, was here for factory airbag recall. The person at the service desk (Rafael?) was extremely helpful. They did not have 1 of the parts and didn’t hesitate to give me a loaner, which I had for 2 days(car was ready the next day, but I couldn’t pick it up then) Totally recommend!!

Ask for John Gray, he'll treat you right. At other dealerships, we could tell the salesperson saw the dollar signs and was eager for the sale. We felt like the next sale to be had. With John, we were treated like people. Customer service was top notch. The whole experience was pleasant and gave us comfort that we were getting a solid deal. He went the extra mile going over every feature and operation, even after the sale concluded and the dealership had closed. We are from VA and drove two hours to get to Renn Kirby. After this experience, there's no doubt we'd do it again.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER. We went in with the full intention of buying a car. We already had the money, so we didn't even need to go through the approval process. Our sales guy told us that another salesman was waiting for someone to come in as well to see the vehicle. We take it out for a test drive and come back to notice that the other people are there with the other sales guy. We start filling out the paperwork when over comes Dave (sales manager) and tells us that they have to give priority to the other customer because the test drove it YESTERDAY. I told him regardless we were here first TODAY. He didn't care. He gave them first priority and spoke to us in a very condescending way even after knowing my husband was prior military. He treated my husband and I terribly - he's a total [non-permissible content removed]. I feel this is completely unprofessional of a dealership especially when our sales guy told us we would have first priority prior to test driving it. He didn't care and threatened to only give us $500 for our trade in (which is worth $8k) if we continued. I WILL NEVER EVER GIVE MY BUSINESS TO A DEALER THIS SHADY. I also intend to contact the GM as well as anyone above him that I need to. I have never been treated this way and wouldn't want anyone to go through this either.

Unexpected PLEASANT experience

Our sale consultant, John Gray, was a very honest and considerate guy and we had a really positive experience while checking a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander SE AWD at Renn Kirby. Starting with an email that John replied, he not only guaranteed the quote price by TrueCar.com but also honestly explained the impossible negotiating price on their website. During test drive, he helped us install car seat and patiently answered all our questions. After 10 min waiting, the manager of Renn Kirby actually gave us a very good price (lower than TrueCar.com suggested price). And, importantly, it was an on-the-road price plus rebate, so there were no hidden or extra fees on the paper. Therefore, we quickly made a deal and drove our new Outlander SE home that night. Unlike our previous visits to other auto dealers, John and Renn Kirby did a fantastic job on creating a comfortable car-buying process and these guys do offer on-the-road price in a straightforward way, which I liked a lot.

Sales rep (Russell) was extremely cocky.

I contacted Renn Kirby to only ask a question about a warrenty. Of course, not soon after he had me discussing a vehicle. He advised me he could get me into the vehicle with leather for a certain price. My husband & I took the long trip to the dealership....only to discover there had been a "misunderstanding" about the price quoted to me. There was no misunderstanding. Russell deliberately mislead me on the price. The car was still a good deal regardless. We found Russell to be extremely cocky & arrogant. I we had not been for the fact that we had driven a long way to the dealership we would have walked out. We found the owner to be very pleasant but he will NOT return your call if there is a problem. Which we had with the vehicle having defected seat belts. Please see our review for SERVICE.

BEWARE....we had defected seat belts that frayed...one week after we bought the car from them. We were told they would be covered but then they tried to blame it first on our dogs, but then we proved the belts had not one puncture mark in them. Then they tried to blame poor car seat installation! My 6 yr old son sits in a booster seat...there is NO installation. The problem was the guider on the belt causing friction when my son struggled with the belt (that locks to quickly). Poor design & the seats are to narrow in the 2007 Outlander to accommodate a car seat/booster seat properly. They expected us to pay $600 for two new seat belts! The clock in the car does not work & there is a small missing piece in the body frame. They have no idea where our plates are & they don't call you back when they say they will. They refused our request to talk to the owner over the problem. We finally got the belts covered after I advised them I would take them to court & had filed a complaint with the Corporate Office. Total aggravasion for a car we spent $25,000 on! The ironic part of it is...on their cheap magnets that they give you after the sale, it says "ALL ABOUT THE TRUST", lol! They went out of their way NOT to cover something under warrenty. I don't trust them for anything now. They also contract with a leather shop called Auto Trim & the arrangements for them to put our leather seats in (which were paid for when we bought the car) were totally screwed up by them. What a mess! We will NEVER buy another car from them. Avoid them if possible. The dealership in Hagerstown is awesome! This is what you get when you deal with a rinky dink dealership!
