BUYERS BEWARE: THOMPSON Toyota Scion Chrysler JEEP Dodge Ram - 0 STARS! 5 SOLID NEGATIVE STARS. Buyers: ACTIVE DUTY, MILITARY RETIREES and DISABLED, BEWARE. The following employees were part of a scam on my fiance and I: Jay "The Jeep Man"Patterson (original salesman that told us to come in and our deal was good) Bobby S. (sales man we ended up having - but is no longer there...) Tom McGeachy (sales manager - Bobby consulted during sales) RICK SCHOFIELD (sales manager who stepped in to do the financing) RON FILLING (GM of the dealership) DO NOT GO HERE! They LIE, take advantage of people, and STOLE $4K from us. Rick ended up putting it as a down payment instead of putting that cash towards the first year's lease, as we were promised, and shook many hands on. We went over the deal hundreds of times with each of the above listed employees. On top of having a newborn, being out of work due to an accident where we were hit head on (not our fault), former military, college graduates; we put our trust into the dealership and instead have have now been scammed, lied to, cheated and deceived. We put our last bit of trust with this money and they lied to us. We took it up with each employee, starting at the bottom. Bobby S. (salesman no longer there) made us a deal on the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo E with Tom McGeachy (sales manager). Jay Patterson (salesman we spoke to on the phone originally about the deal) said (on 12-12-18) he remembers the deal like it was yesterday, but there's nothing he can do. Rick Schofield did the financing. We gave him multiple chances and he lied everyday for a week about what he was doing to help fix their mistake, even offering to re-write the contract and put us in a new car. After being avoided for a week, we decided, today, December 12, 2018, to speak to the GM, Ron Filling. Ron said nothing there is nothing he can do and that money is written in as a down payment on the lease. This was not what we shook hands on. Rick Schofield said he goes to the VFW so we figured we could trust him as a being a friend with the military. THE LIES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP and WE WILL SUFFER this tremendous loss but will never do business again with this dealership. We will we sure the word gets out about these [non-permissible content removed]. AGAIN, BEWARE. THEY ALL LIE. STAY CLEAR of THOMPSON Toyota Scion Chrysler JEEP Dodge Ram of EDGEWOOD, Maryland.
Great customer service!
My husband and I were shopping for a minivan and saw one we liked online. We visited the lot and Roger helped us, he was wonderful! He was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with making our transaction smooth. Our entire experience was positive and we would definitely go back for a future purchase!
I had J.P selling me a 2015 Chrysler 200C, Once I sat in the car I knew I wanted it. He didnt force selling the car on me, seemed very laid back and let me actually drive the car and talked about the options in it and took a solid test drive. It is apparent that he is newer to selling cars but everyone starts somewhere. Only thing I didnt like is that (probably my fault for not knowing, but) they dont include the registration, tags and taxes in the final price. Something that really can put a hamper in your wallet if you have so much on a loan, and since Im a first time new car buyer I totally forgot about it. Otherwise, the experience was like the title says, Relatively painless.
This was probably the most painless car buying expereince I have ever had. I had the pleasure of dealing with Sal while I was there and he was just great to work with. I was really impressed from the moment I got there and they were much easier to deal with then the Jeep dealership up the road. I will most certainly be back to buy another vehicle in the future.
Tisha Rocks !!!!
My purchase at Thompson Dodge was amazing !!! and Tisha represented the dealership far beyond my expectations... I will recommend Thompson to anybody looking for a new car or truck.
Love my Jeep!
Thompson's service dept tells me when I need various services done to keep my vehicle running smoothly. This time they rotated my tires, along with the general tune up. They also filled all the fluids and let me know when to come back. They told me what various fluids have to be changed at 3000 miles also.
Bad Sales Experience.
I like to know why am I receiving this survey almost a year later after a purchasing my car. That tells me right there that the sales department does not have the customers interest at hand and just wants positive surveys and or feedback to make their quota or commission to get their check. I felt like a number, not a customer, dealer was hot in showroom, yes it was July, were short salespeople, so my salesperson Tisha was running all over the place, which I think is rude. She didn't go over vehicle with me, just did the usual ride along, get back, go in start paperwork. Yes I could of left or walked out, but this is the car I wanted, so I tolerated it. The service department is excellent, manager and workers are great, had issue with chipped rim, overlooked when purchased car, Chris sales manager from sales department was smart, ignorant and rude with me about repairing rim, he said how don't I know you did that, if that was the case I would be fixing all vehicles for free. I was pissed, luckily Mark service manager took care of my rim, at no charge, that's good customer service. I will continue to use the service department for maintenance on my car. My girlfriend purchased a vehicle at this dealer also and she has had excellent experiences with service department. As far as sales department, myself and my girlfriend will never purchase another vehicle from this dealer.
They made it so easy!
Angelo M at Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Edgewood made my experience easy. From the moment I walked through the door he made me feel comfortable not only in the conversation but explained the features and benefits in a way that I could understand. They worked with me on price and made sure the vehicle was what I needed, not what they wanted me to buy. I never once felt pressured and will send everyone I know looking to purchase their way. There isn't any other place I'd rather have purchased my Jeep Patriot!
Fantastic Experience as a First Time Car Buyer!
I had been looking around for a used Jeep Grand Cherokee that fit my price range for a little under a month and found the perfect one online at Thompson. As soon as I went to visit the dealership I felt very welcomed and taken care of. (Earlier that day I spent 5+ hours at a different dealership being passed along to multiple sales people and managers wasting my time, as though nobody took me seriously as a buyer...) My sales person at Thompson, Tisha F., made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. She made sure I was taken care of the entire time which I greatly appreciated especially since this was my first time purchasing a car and was unfamiliar with the process. Any question I had she was able to quickly and thoroughly answer for me. I cannot stress enough how much Tisha positively impacted my car buying experience at Thompson! Lastly, going through financing (the most stressful part!) felt like a breeze. I would highly recommend Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to anyone looking for a positive stress-free car buying experience!
Don't waste your time
I went in looking to get a price and trade-in value to order a new Jeep. I told them what I wanted and they looked in local inventory. They came back with a similar vehicle, but not what I was looking for. This happened 2 more times (10-15 minutes each). When I finally convinced them that I wanted to ORDER from the factory, they came back with a price that was $5 under MSRP. When I asked why they were so far away from the quote given by "TrueCar", they explained that the TrueCar quote is only from dealer stock, "that's how they get you". When I spoke to the Internet manager on the phone earlier that day, she told me that a factory ordered car would be "about the same thing" as the TrueCar price on an in-stock vehicle. $3000 below MSRP and $5 below MSRP are pretty different to me. I felt that they did not know much about the vehicles they were selling, for example, they did not know about the upgraded speaker option, or that this model only had one type of sunroof. Things that are easily found in their brochures. When trying to locate a vehicle that matched the options that I wanted, they were always missing something. I would not even trust this place to order a car for me. What a waste of my evening.,,
The best service department in the county
My first experience with Thompson Jeep was when I was new to town and took my Jeep to them for a tune-up. When I picked up my Jeep my bill was under $100. I asked if this was a typo. Chip told me they replaced only what was needed. Imagine that...Chip did not charge me for un-necessary parts!! Chip earned my loyality right then and there. Chip is the only service writer who I let write up my work order. If Chip says I need it...I need it. Chip is as honest as the day is long. If you come here for work I can say that the mechanics know their stuff and don't pad the work order (Really) They will talk to you about what is needed right now and what is coming up for repair in the future. I never take my Jeep anywhere else. I tried out another dealer once and the experience convinced me Thompson Jeep is the only place to go for repair and service. Job Well Done.
My best car buying experience ever.
After buying a vehicle at another dealer (earlier in the week) and canceling the sale 24 hours later due to the dealer's misrepresentations and sneeky price changes, I was quite skeptical about all of today's car sales people. After all, they all see the same webinars from corporate don't they. Well thank God there are still a few mavericks out there with personal integrity. I could not find a Jeep Liberty Limited with the options I wanted so I built a Liberty Renegade with lots of options on Edmunds and sent out 4 internet inquiries. 2 dealers sent automated responses thanking me for my email, dealer 3's email flatly stated "that vehicle does not exist" and I would have to order it from the factory. Then there was Sam. The internet sales guru at Thompson Chrysler Jeep Dodge. He emailed me the window sticker of a Renegade that was almost perfect. On my way home from work, we spoke on the phone. He ran another internet search and actually found the exact Limited I needed. I changed direction and went to the dealership. When I arrived, Sam had a burger and soda waiting for me and introduced me to my sales guy Jim. I told them both about the despicable way I was treated at Don White's (see review) and that at the first sign of trouble, I was out of there. Jim was so laid back and personable I started to mellow in a few minutes. He gave me a print out of the window stickers for the Renegade and the Limited to review. I opted for the limited and we started to dicker. There was no pressure, no games, no hassle and we agreed on a sale price. The vehicle was at a dealer 100 miles away so I had to wait 2 days. Jim even found a better finance interest rate than we could get from the credit union. This was such a great car buying experience, I would even tell my ex-wife to shop there.
AVIOD THESE [violative content deleted]
What makes me give the bad rating is simple: they treated me like dirt after the sale. The car I bought did not have mats, but the salesman promised he would get me new mats the next business day. He failed to deliver on this, made some excuses and said he'd have them in another two or three days. That didn't happen either, and at that point he told me that he had ordered some and that they would be in a few days later. More time passed, and he blamed the UPS guy, etc, until it became clear that he had never placed an order (i.e., HE LIED). He then said he would send a purchase order out to another dealer that would have the mats. A few more days passed by and that didn't happen (LIED AGAIN) so I finally had to raise my voice a tell him it was ridiculous that I have had to keep calling him every other day for two weeks just to get mats, to which he replied in a VERY rude voice, "well if you want them so bad why don't you buy them yourself?" Keep in mind that he said this after repeatedly LYING to me and saying that the mats would be there in a day or two, that he'd ordered them, etc. After some more badgering by me he said he'd place the purchase order that Monday. On Monday he had just one factory mat which was the wrong color, that he took from another car that had come to the lot, and two junky plastic mats for me so I took those and washed my hands of the deal, but he never ordered any mats, which means he BALD-FACE LIED to me THREE TIMES and made me wait forever, fight like hell, and get very upset, all over some silly mats. This is no way to build lasting relationships with your customers, and I won't be buying another car from him.
