Bad Customer Service
Overall bad experience with Service department. Dropped off my vehicle Monday night for a bad headlight and did not get a clear answer about what was need and cost until Thursday afternoon. Several phone calls were not returned in a reasonable amount of time. Reason I was given for poor service by manager was work load and my adviser being off that day etc. I will not go back for service or purchase another vehicle from this dealer. Unfortunate.

Pleasant and Honest Staff=Complete Satisfaction!
I don't normally do reviews but I really feel that this Hyundai dealership REALLY deserves public praise! The staff that I met with, consisting of Ike O. and Fernando A., were very pleasant and honest...they both really went above and beyond to help me when I was in need of a vehicle. This was VERY surprising because I was a walk-in and I was still shopping around at all the local Hyundai dealerships in the area to see who had great deals currently! Well, I can say without reservation that I am GRATEFUL that I walked in to this location and I got exactly what I liked after a test drive, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, which by the way is a FANTASTIC vehicle! I'm just really hoping this will be useful to someone shopping around for a new vehicle, take care! -Adam
Great Customer Service
After a car accident we found ourselves unexpectedly in the market for a car. After searching the internet we found this dealership with the car we wanted and made an appointment. The salesman, Charles, was friendly and great to work with. The financial aspect of buying a car is never fun. It is a long and drawn out process with so much paperwork. However, working with Rashad made it all seamless. This is the third time in my life that I have bought a car. I try to avoid car dealerships as much as possible. But never before when buying a car have I felt like I was treated with such respect, honesty and integrity. It is rare that you find a car dealership with ethics where you feel comfortable and at ease with the "deal" that is being made. To be quite frank, we visited other dealerships before making the final decision to buy from this one. The deciding factor: Rashad and the way we were treated in that finance office. College Park Hyundai - My new 2016 car
My God do I have a testimony to tell you all about College Park Hyundai!! This is Prophetess Teresa Allen. But first, I must take you back a few months ago on how it began. Around January 2016, the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob came to me again and told me, this year blessings and miracles will happen for you and to know that it is I you will see and hear the number 7 and you will know that it is from I!! The number 7 is divine somebody say DIVINE and completeness! So I had an appointment to go in to view a new car on 5-26-16. I really did not want to go in but I said, let me see what they are talking about on this rebate deal. I still had my 2013 which was in perfect condition with very low miles but the interest rate was too high and I did feel like an upgrade was needed as well. So me and my family drove up and we began to pray before I enter the building. I was greeted so warmly, inviting as always and I was offer refreshments. The atmosphere has always been like that for years professional and proficient in everything! Kudos to the General Manger! Keep in mind this dealership has been in my family over 20 years now just about many of our family and friends go there and its like a home base for us. Mr. Lonnell Bond is a man who is about his business! He will fight the good fight on your be hath with the banks and all finance companies to make sure he gets you the best deal regarding your interest rate and your payments. Thats why I keep going back because of HIM! Never met anyone that is so pleasant, honest, professional, open and caring about your cares on whats your affordability and implement your goals to the highest level. He never let me or anyone I know down who has done business with him. He will go back again and again to make a reasonable, honorable deal for you!! Heads up! Some dealerships I heard are totally the opposite. He was so professional, caring, patient and highly skilled, straight forward, and beyond expectation. He walked me through all the details, he explained to me things that I never knew and always listened to me and broke things down for me so I could understand them. No question was a dumb question he answered everything like a PRO!! He walked me through all my step-ups and although I was so very nervous but he kept me calm and made the process so easy! When Mr. Kess drove the car over to the dealers lot he said to me your car has 7 miles! God! When I left the dealership I left at 3:27pm MY God!! The God that I SERVE!! Had his hand on me and everyone around me and he will do the same for you!! Go now tell you family, friends, neighbors anyone who is buying a car to GO to COLLEGE PARK HYUNDAI. Myself and my daughter went to purchase her first car on 10/24/15 my sales person Zodi was so helpful in selection of cars and working with a good price. He great us with and smile and treated us as if we were his family. The experience was during our visit was GREAT! The process when smoothly and he even made sure we were feed during our visit. After purchasing the car with the car loan we requested, my daughter drove of in her first new car. Thanks to Zodi!! The next day we received a call from Zodi, making sure that we were still happy with his service and the car. I will forever be a customer of his!! Outstanding test drive experience
I met Mr. Norman Hawkins at College Park Hyundai to test drive a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan. Originally, the Genesis wasn't even on my radar, as I intended to purchase a two year old pre-owned BMW 535i (F10) or Lexus GS350. I visited College Park Hyundai because Cars.com showed this dealership to be the closest one to my residence with a V6 Genesis at my desired price point. As Hyundai is considered a mainstream brand, I really didn't expect anything extraordinary in terms of the dealership experience. If nothing else, Norman proved me wrong. His superb product knowledge and customer care skills made it clear that College Park Hyundai provides top flight customer service - as good or better than luxury marque dealerships like BMW and Lexus. Everything regarding my test drive experience - from confirming the appointment, to demonstrating features of the car, to finding an ideal test drive route - was flawless. I was impressed with the 2015 Genesis itself, as well. It's very well designed overall. Ultimately, I decided not to purchase the Genesis because it isn't as sporty as a 535i or GS350, and agility and handling are the top criteria for my next vehicle purchase. Nonetheless, for anyone who isn't quite as obsessed with sporty driving dynamics as I am, a new 2015 Genesis sedan would make an excellent alternative to a pre-owned luxury sedan from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, or Audi. And if you have the pleasure of working with Norman at College Park Hyundai, you'll also get "red-carpet" treatment at the dealership that befits a premium automobile.

My wife and I had been on the hunt for a used minivan for awhile before we finally found what we were looking for at College Park Hyundai. The folks there couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, especially our salesperson, David Lee. He's really gone the extra mile, both before and since we bought the van. He even noted a few issues during our walk through before we bought that he said they would take care of post-purchase and they sure did. Definitely a man of his word and a dealership you can trust. Having had questionable experiences with other dealerships in the past, working with David and College Park Hyundai was a breath of fresh air. We would recommend them to anyone.

Great Car Buying Experience with David L
I had a wonderful experience with this dealer, I cannot speak highly enough of them and especially their salesman David L. They are worth the travel if you are in the burbs. This is the fourth new car purchase I have made in my years; the experience has never been this seamless or pleasant. This purchase was for my niece, and we had done some work before approaching this dealership, we had test driven several cars and she knew what exact model she wanted. We then reached out to multiple dealers to let them know we were serious buyers, and gave them our target price. Several responded but were very vague. The dealers we visited would not come down in price. But David L promised he would make this deal for us. My niece lives in Bel Air so it was a trip to make and I was leery, but in fact they were straight up honest, and once we arrived, it was a very efficient process. They did not try to upsell us or pressure us to buy unneeded extras. Everyone at this dealer was wonderful, but I want to especially recommend David L. He was straightforward in his e-mails. When we arrived, he guided us through the process as we filled out the necessary paperwork. We chatted amiably with him as they detailed and prepped the car for us and filled up the gas tank. Then, even though it was late, he took the time to carefully go over all the controls. I am very pleased and would look forward to buying another car or perhaps trading up in a couple of years: Value. Efficiency. Decency. Wish all dealer experiences were like this. Thank you David!
Unacceptable Sales Technics
Showed up at the Dealership for my schedule 12 Noon appointment on 6/7/2014 to purchase a new 2014 Geneis Coupe Ultimate and was told that they could not honor the price we all agreed to. This is just another example of underhanded sales technics that car dealerships use frequently. Needless to say I reported this issue to Hyundai Corporate Customer Service and filed a BBB complaint. As of 6/26/2014 the College Park Hyundai ownership has not made any offer to compensate or apologize for their unacceptable conduct. The salesperson I dealt with at College Park Hyundai was not honest. On my first attempt to purchase this car from College Park Hyundai the salesperson clearly stated that he could beat any other offer by at least $1000.00. This was not the case....in fact both the salesperson and the sales manager tried to sell me this car at a price that wasn't even close to other offers that I had received from other Hyundai Dealerships. I did inform two of the College Park Hyundai sales managers that expected a formal apology from the dealership owner and $50 to cover my gas expenses from driving to their dealership twice.
They will lie to you.
Pretty terrible experience. First, they did try to offer competitive pricing and I had a good experience with at least one guy in the service department. After that though, I can't recommend this place. Collins in sales was fine to work with, but the sales manager Lonnell B wasn't as great to work with. He is manipulative and likes to play games which should be somewhat expected in the car sales industry but he will downright lie to you to sell you a car. He told me he was doing a soft pull on my credit just for identity verification and that it wouldn't affect my credit score, since my name wasn't going to be on anything regardless, rather my fiance's. But he did a hard pull as if I was going to buy the car myself and my credit is now lowered for it and for no reason. There are more than 10 Hyundai dealerships in the DC area, go to a different one. I suggest one of the Fitzgerald Auto Malls which give far better prices, selection, and customer service than this place. And they won't lie to you to sell you a car. I also find it hilarious they hired someone to specifically address the Google reviews because this dealership has such terrible customer service. Protip- get better customer service in the first place, instead of trying to do PR repair after people walk out and are furious.
A good price without all the usual BS
When we had two weeks left on my husbands leased vehicle, we began aggressively searching for our next car. We started with the old school method of pounding the pavement from dealership to dealership test driving cars. I knew I wanted something comparable to what we had which was in the mid size class while my husband was more concerned with getting a decent price. After test driving and sitting down with many salesmen and their various car selling styles, we came home with headaches to regroup. We had decided on the Hyundai Sonata. Once we knew exactly what we wanted with trim level, options, and color, it was time to get a price wed be happy with. We filled out forms online to get quotes from local dealerships and contacted a few on our own. I spent the next two days fielding calls and emails only to be told their price was the best price they could give us and when I compared it against the other offers, it really wasnt by much, maybe $100 or so. I even had a sales manager call me where we did one of our test drives sell me on a lower price (probably hoping to get us in the door again to high pressure sell us) but later in the conversation, I discovered that he had taken off the options package to give me that price even though I had made it VERY clear what it was we were looking for. Then something surprising happened, after a couple of email exchanges about the car we wanted and the price point we were looking at that none of the other dealerships would come close to, I got a call from David L at the College Park Hyundai Dealership. In just under 10 minutes of talking to him on the phone, he gave me an offer even my husband had been convinced (based on what other dealerships told us) we would never get! I was almost in disbelief at how headache free that phone call was. David was attentive to our needs and gave me no BS on the phone. He was straight forward and gave me the sense that he wasnt out to cheat us or play the usual bait and switch dealers games. Maybe if I was persistent enough with other dealerships and gone 5 rounds of haggling, I MAY have gotten close to the offer that David L gave us right away, but who really has time or energy for that? We werent looking for a sales guy to wear us down with their sales antics and for us to jump through hoops just to get a half way decent deal. We wanted the experience as painless as possible and not feel like we were told one thing but at the end were given something else. A lot of salesman will say they want to earn our business but in turn, they force us to have to work at getting a few hundred dollars off with lots of stress and haggling back and forth. Im not sure how thats earning our business when we have to do all this work. David L gave us the bottom line, out the door price we were looking for without any hassle or stress. I had my husband call him to confirm the price and he got the same sense about David L being an honest guy and what we got quoted on the phone was what we will get once we made the long trek down to College Park from Baltimore City during rush hour traffic. When we got to the dealership, David L already had the car we wanted parked out front ready for us to take it for a spin to make sure everything is to our liking. David Lee was friendly, likeable, and knowledgeable. He went over what we had discussed on the phone and got the paperwork rolling. Within 3 hours, we were done and out the door in our new car! I couldnt believe it, I was thinking wed be there at least 4 hours, I remember back in the day where buying a car means youre in the dealership all day. Granted we did have our financing set up with our credit union but the rest of the process went so smoothly and everyone at the dealership was very nice. At the end, my husband looked at me and said, THAT was pretty painless, to which I replied, I KNOW, its almost unbelievable, we can go to dinner earlier than Id hoped with our new car! My brother just started the car buying/browsing process, Ive already told him about my experience with David L and the College Park Hyundai dealership. I highly recommend David L if youre on the market for a Hyundai. The college park location wasnt even one of the ones we had looked into initially since its not local to us but it was worth it to get a very decent price without haggling and wonderful customer service to boot. The car buying experience would be a lot more pleasurable if all salesmen would conduct themselves with such integrity and straight forwardness as David Lee had shown us. We felt David L really took care of us and did indeed earn our business.

Ive been involved with about ten new car purchases through the years and can say without qualification the best car salesman Ive worked with has been College Park Hyundais David L. David worked for three weeks to locate the car I wanted at the price we agreed to up front. He went out of his way to locate the car at an out of state dealership and have it driven to College Park for me. Despite Hyundai cars being in high demand, he didnt waiver on our agreed to price. David made the back end of our deal as helpful as everything beforehand by making sure I understood how to operate the key features of my new vehicle. He even took the time to make sure my Bluetooth phone was correctly paired up to the car. Thanks very much to David and his team at College Park Hyundai - theyve gained a new loyal customer.
I've been rsearching mid-sized SUVs for a while now and alwasy like the Sante Fe. I went to this dealership as this was the closest Hyundai dealership and was really just looking forward to test driving this model and maybe checking out the CX9. Right away, David let me test drive the Sante Fe Sport and regular Sante Fe. We sat down and chatted about the price and to be honest, there were a couple times when I was about to walk out but each time David went to see if there was anything else he could do. IT wasn't much in terms of haggling over the price but rather trying to get the best deal for both parties. The manager also got involved and even then I didn't feel any pressure from them whatsoever. They were courteous and were definitely looking to make a deal happen. I was very pleased with the experience and was walked through all the bells and whistles the car had. I got what I believe to be a good deal and I think they can say the same as well. Once I am ready to get a new car again in a few years, I will be bringing my business back to this particular dealership.
Excellent experience - 3rd purchase
This is the 3rd vehicle I have purchased from College Park Hyundai. The salesman, Ralph B., provided an outstanding sales experience, was very knowledgeable on his products and was a pleasure to deal with. I strongly recommend Mr. B. as a new car salesman who will provide an excellent professional new car buying experience. I utilized the internet sales route as was very satisfied with the result. The dealership completely honored the deal that I had made via email.
Charles and my 2012 Civic
The dealership itself was a pretty decent place. I worked with Charles, and he was an excellent guy. He took me out on a nice test drive, and was great with that. Real genuine, and easy to talk to. We got back and started discussing the price for the car, which was a bit higher than I wanted to go, but he was open to negotiation. At one point his manager came over, and he was a bit aggressive and even though he said he didn't want to be a *****, of course he was (I'm pretty sure it was all for show, though). But I guess that's their job. Either way, Charles was great to work with, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. He even stayed outside with me as I arranged transportation home for my other car and really made me feel like he cared!
My sales experience was just as nice as it's been before. This is my third car from this dealership and each sales rep that I've had has been very attentive overall. My sales rep was, it seems, the only female on staff. It took a couple of visits but she took the time to review all bells and whistles that came with my new SantaFe. Because of a personal issue, she may not have been there on my second visit but she more than made up for it when we returned.
Beware of the internet sales with this dealer
After finding the car we wanted and making a deal over the phone with a salesman. We prepared to drive to the dealership with check in hand. We were reassured time after time the car was our. Just hours before we were to go pick up the car we got the call that a "Senior Salesman" had sold the car. We got NO assistance or alternative from any of the manager. I can not recommend this dealer if you are looking to do business over the internet!
I purchased a 2013 Santa Fe from these folks on 9/24/2013 and was very pleased with the car, the price and the friendly and attentive sales staff. The price was a little better than I found at competing dealers and the staff was very knowledgeable and patient when it came time to showing us all of the features and setting up the electronics and interfaces on the vehicle. The paperwork was also fairly painless with no surprises and a well organized process.
Do NOT visit this dealership
From Edumnds.com I sent request for a quote-- within few minutes one of the manager called forcing me to visit the dealership without giving me any numbers or a written quote. Over and over I asked him to please, I am an internet customer and treat me accordingly and send me a quote but he refused. The ONLY way he offered me a quote was by showing up to their dealership!! WTH?!?! Later Aileen J. one of the internet manager contacted me. I requested a quote even she didn't give me a quote. They want me to bring the quot from another dealership and let them beat it. REALLY???? I will never visit, buy or recommend a family or friend to them. They need to know the difference between an internet customer vs walkin. Please READ reviews, scary!! Good luck to anyone who buys from them!
