Great experience with Vitale at Ourisman Bethesda

I recently purchased a XC60 Volvo from Carme Vitale at Ourisman Bethesda. I had an excellent experience, Vitale was courteous, patience, knowledgeable, and hard working. I appreciate the effort and time Vitale took to find the right car for me. Unlike other sales persons, Vitale was not pushy, it was my great pleasure to work with Vitale. I have no hesitation to recommend Vitale to my friends. Thank you Vitale

Disappointing dealership and customer service

The entire experience was less than stellar and we should have realized that not being able to find the entrance was a sign not to buy from Ourisman/Volvo Cars of Bethesda. Finding the customer parking was difficult (inside a parking structure shared with an apartment building) and limited due to most of the “customer” parking being taken up with dealership inventory. We entered the showroom, which is small and under construction, and found someone to help us look for the vehicle. We went to the dealership in hopes of buying a specific vehicle listed as available on their website. When they looked up the stock number the vehicle had been sold but had a similar model. We were told it should be ready in less than ten minutes, but twenty minutes later we were still waiting. As we waited I asked about available features and accessories; my salesman gave me incorrect information and didn’t seem to know much about any vehicles in the lineup. After about 5 hours of dealing and waiting, we did buy the car (not the one we drove because it wasn’t similar to the one we wanted). Since the purchase I’ve become even more frustrated with the dealership. My salesman’s cell number listed on his card does work, the dealership number on the card doesn’t work and they are slow to respond via email. I will be finding a different dealership for any future transactions.

BUYER BEWARE - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE CUSTOMER Although I live in CT, I purchased the new Volvo V90 Cross Country back in June at Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman) in Maryland because it had all the options I was looking for in this model. POOR WORKMANSHIP: Prior to picking up the vehicle, Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman) did some recall work on the curtain airbags (DSPM recall R89714). As a result, they ended up breaking the interior panels and clips to the point where the panels were constantly falling off. I even found a loose bolt under the hood and some broken clips in the car. Since I live many miles away in CT, I had no choice but to have the car taken to a local Volvo dealer to fix the problems caused by Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman). While fixing the problems, the local Volvo dealer also discovered that, as a result of the poor workmanship by Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman) on the recall, both safety belts (driver and passenger) were also malfunctioning. POOR REGISTRATION PROCESS: Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman) assured me that the registration process would be smooth and fast. However, it took them 2 ½ months and numerous phone calls before I received the permanent registration. I went through two successive temporary registrations and I had to cancel a vacation due to their delays in registering my car with the Connecticut DMV. Additionally, I found out 2 weeks after the fact that the car was not even insured when I drove it off their lot! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: As with most new cars, many features are now “programmable” from a touch screen in the middle of the dashboard. However, Volvo Cars of Bethesda (Ourisman) did not even offer to walk me through the dashboard features, not even the basic ones, like navigation, media players or even the features that had safety implications. In fact, they didn't even answer the few questions I had about some of the dashboard features. I was really perplexed by this and felt like they just wanted me out of their dealership as soon as possible.

20/20 Hindsight

Overall I'm dissatisfied with this establishment and the fact that I gave them my business. The people are very friendly, however, in my very specific situation, the failed every other customer service qualifier that I can think of. From selling me a vehicle that probably shouldn't have been sold as a new car, to the lack of organization in general, I won't return until my lease is due, nor would I ever recommend friends or family. If I could go back and change my decision, I would. The car is really nice, but that's where the praise stops.

Not having purchased a car since our 2003 Volvo S60, we were somewhat uncertain in visiting Ourisman of Bethesda, MD earlier this week. Fortunately, our salesman, C. Vitale, was extremely helpful and informative in reviewing the two 2017 models which we were considering -- the XC60 T-6, and the V60CC -- including all the safety, comfort, and entertainment system aspects. After a test drive, we decided on the XC60. Mr. Vitale patiently explained how to operate the car and all the "buttons." We were pleased with our experience at Ourisman and particularly Mr. Vitale and would highly recommend both./Richard and Audrey, Washington DC.

Ease of car shopping

After doing lots of internet searches, and already having test drove the vehicle I decided to buy, I contacted Ourisman via email regarding pricing on a S60 T5 AWD Dynamic. The salesman assigned, Ariel Berenstein, contacted me immediately and kept in contact for over a month while I contemplated my purchase and negotiated features/pricing. Never felt any pressure from him and didn't feel the typical tactics usually associated with car buying. This was easily the best experience I've had in 27 years of car buying, and based on research to include friends in the business and the standard auto internet sites, believe I received a fair deal. Highly recommend considering this dealer for your next purchase.

Absolutely wonderful car buying experience! The sales staff is polite, professional and above all respectful of the customer. My sales consultant, William Merlo and the sales managers, Matt Berman and Stefan St. John were outstanding in ever sense of the word. Their no pressure sales, coupled with a keen knowledge of the Volvo product line made the purchase so much easier and pleasurable. I would HIGHLY recommend William to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Volvo or Volkswagen!

I highly recommend this dealership and William Martien. Find him and find out how he serves for your car purchasing. When shopping a new car, my wife and I were not sure which model is right fit for our family car. XC60 or XC90.. which color? He gave us opportunity to let us drive several cars with different trims of each model. We felt very relaxed and pleasant during the test drive. My kid also enjoyed and had great time with Bill. No feeling of forcing to purchase. He was professionally prepared for explaining all features and benefits of having Volvo car. He made great efforts to deliver best and competitive price for us as well. Purchasing process was very smooth, easy, and comprehensive. Excellent purchase experience on XC90

Upon my first conversation with Bill, he demonstrated complete professionalism and the flexibility to work towards my price goals for a 2016 XC90 T6 AWD with Convenience, Vision and Momentum Plus packages. It was a great experience and he saved us both time because we completed the negotiation and final price over the phone. By far, Bill beat 5 other dealerships on MSRP, money factor and final monthly payment. On top of that, his offer even bested one dealership that was offering a vehicle with fewer options. We couldn't make in until the following day to take delivery, and in Bill's absence, he worked with Matt, the manager and Damir, the present sales consultant, to ensure the paperwork was ready to go when we walked in. I can't stress enough the professionalism and courtesy that Matt and Damir also demonstrated upon our arrival. The paperwork process was quick and painless and Damir even spent another half hour after the dealership closed to familiarize my wife with all of the Sensus functionality before we drove home. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bill, Damir and Matt at Ourisman Volvo of Bethesda!

Buying a car can be a very stressful process. My wife and I have spent the last couple of months test driving cars in the D.C. metro area including Volvo, Acura, and Jeep. We decided upon the 2016 Volvo V60 because we love the car but more importantly, how impressed we were with Will Bergin. Will is the VW and Volvo sales person at Ourisman VW and Volvo in Bethesda who greeted us the first time we visited the dealer. My wife and I continued to discuss how much we liked Will and we went back to the dealer 3 times. Will is very attentive, polite, and responsive and we appreciate that. We have had a pleasant buying process throughout and Will, their general partner, Paul Tibolla, and their staff. All were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. I highly recommend Will Bergin. He follows up on his word and we hope to buy another car from him in the future.
