Worse than even I expected - Hidden Fees

I read the reviews but gave them a shot anyway. Waste of my time. When I asked for their best price on a car I wanted, they then informed me of $2,300 of additional fees over the advertised price. I walked.

Poor Communication

This is by far one of the worst experiences I've had with a dealership when it comes to the communications involved with purchasing a car. I lived out of state and was interested in purchasing a car. The swiftness of the response of the initial contact was excellent (of course). That was about it. I let them know which vehicle I was interested in and let them know that I was four hours away and wouldn't come test drive until I needed to. I was handed off to 3 different people, each who seemed to lack any care if I purchased the car or not. I had to reach out to them multiple times to even get a response. After not receiving any responses on purchasing the car, I gave up. I was a buyer who had cash and was ready to purchase that week. I wouldn't recommend them if you would like swift, or any for that matter communication. Last time I look for a car at this dealership.

Guess what? The other person in here had the exact same experience we had. We saw the advertisement for a used Dodge Journey 2016 with 20K miles on from a rental for $18750. We got to the dealership and they marked it up 1000 dollars. I asked them why. They said that was their extra fees. I said it is not advertised fo rhtat much and that is deceptive advertising, lying and misleading. We drove 80 miles from NOVA. They would not give us the advertised price and said that all of the other websites misled us and they did not mislead us. The manager was very disrespectful, rude, and did not know how to discuss anything with customers. We were trapped. I am going to ensure that I report this dealership to every consumer agency in the state of Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. I wiil let my friends and family know these individuals are liars and cheats and do not care about customers. Antwerpen Hyundai is the worst dealership in the world, period.

I purchase a new vehicle every 2 years or so, and never have I had a worse experience than at Antwepen Hyundai! I bought in a TrueCar price certificate, of which they claim to be a member of. I was told by the salesman, Dwayne that the price stated doesn't include an additional $1000 charge which "all the internet pricing doesn't include" ( Totally misleading and deceptive) After showing him the certificate over and over again and emailing it to his personal email (because he doesn't use/check his work one - unprofessional!!) it stated that its a price lock and the only additional charge is the $300 dealer fee, he went back and forward to the manager for an extended period of time and finally agreed to honor the price the agreed to via TrueCar. I gave Dwayne my credit card for a $750 hold deposit so my wife could come in to view the vehicle, and he took a copy. The following day we come back to finalize everything and take the car. Dwayne had gone home and we were seen to by Norbett. I had to explain everything multiple times and provide the certificate over and over again and explain the price. After about an hour and a half, we were finally put through to the finance lady. We couldn't believe how rude she is! The whole time trying to push us out the door, and at no stage did she go through any figures with us, and just assumed that we wanted to fiance the car for 72 months, which I just managed to see when she was trying to skip over it. In the process I was also told by Dwayne that the would beat, or match any finance quote. So I had the quote bought in and was rudely told that they couldn't do anything about it, even though we have great credit. She just said, "if you want the car now, go with us, if not come back". Unfortunately we live about 80 miles away, so we went with it and went on our way. Once home going through all the figures I noticed that they had included the dealer fee into the vehicle cost, and then added it on again. The next day I emailed them and called, hadn't heard anything in a few days, so called and left another message. After 3 weeks, my wife gets a call saying that we owe $750 extra deposit. Turns out they hadn't taken it originally even though a copy was made (fantastic card security..not!) My wife explained that they overcharged us $300 and said we would give the card details again to take $450 to even thing out, but surprise surprise they took the whole $750 out!! After calling 3 times I'm still yet to hear anything from them! Moral of the story, go elsewhere!! This dealership is terribly run and extremely deceptive!

Great Selection of Vehicles, Easy to Work With

My fiance and I recently leased a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe from Antwerpen, and we had a very pleasant experience working with Isaac M and the rest of the staff. We were drawn there because of the extensive selection of vehicles, and were able to find exactly what we were looking for, at the right price, and drove off in the vehicle that day. Definitely recommend this dealership if you're in the market.

Antwerpen Hyundai of Catonsville was a pleasant purchasing experience, especially when working with sales reps Isaac and Carl, along with the manager, Jeff. I had many questions and specialized consumer concerns which they very patiently answered or took the time to seek out the right person for resolution. After the purchase, they even walked through how to get the most secure remote access out of my Bluelink.

We recently had a very good experience purchasing our new SUV from Karl S at Antwerpen Hyundai. Karl listened to our needs and helped find the right vehicle for us. He was attentive, but also respectfully gave us the time to discuss and discern our decision whether to purchase the car. He answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about the vehicles. We would highly recommend Antwerpen Hyundai and Karl S to our family and friends.

I wasn't even planning to buy a Hyundai, but the Genesis felt great so I went with it. Ken D. was very polite and didn't try to push me into a higher purchase like other dealerships try to do. Overall my experience was very good.

Went to Antwerpen Hyundai last week to buy a 2014 Tucson & was planning on driving it away that day. Isaac M. was great to work with, but Jeff G. really low-balled the price on my trade-in so I walked out! If you're a gal planning on going there, better take someone with you because they treat you differently . (Better suggestion is to go to another dealership.) I've bought 2 Hyundai's from them in the past 10 years, but never again. (Sales rating is Zero cause there was no sale, but they make you pick something on this site.)

I was shopping online for a new car for a couple of weeks and felt lied to and getting so much nonsense from dealers that I wanted to stop my search. I felt like Issac was being honest and wasn't playing games with me from the first time we spoke. I took a chance and drove to his dealership over several others that had contacted me and I am glad I did. It ended up being the best car buying experience I have had so far. Just as important, I love my new Santa Fe. Thank you!!

This was my first experience shopping for a new car and the salespeople I encountered at two other dealerships were pushy and not very helpful. Isaac M. not only helped me find what I was looking for but did it with a smile, made it pleasant, and walked me through the steps so I could drive away in my new 2013 Sonata.

I am always reluctant to go to dealerships, but I submitted a request about cars online and Isaac was quick to respond and I set up an appointment with him. He worked hard to get me the car that I wanted and made the experience less stressful. He is a pleasure to be around and his humor makes going through the car buying/leasing process that much easier. Even after my purchase anytime I have went to the dealer he remembers me and checks to see how my car is doing. Recently my Mom was in the market for a new vehicle. I told her I would only help her through the process was if we went to see Isaac. My Mom has been through a lot recently and he genuinely cared about helping her get a new car. He did everything in his power to make sure she did not leave without a car. He is the most amazing car salesmen I have ever came across. He wants whats in your best interest and he never pushes anything on you. He always makes it known that even after you have bough the car that he is still there for any question you may have and to never hesitate to call him. Isaac always goes the extra mile!

I visited Antwerpen after locating a used car online. George H. assisted me with my purchase. He was very knowledgeable and honestly answered all questions I had for him. There was never any pressure and he let me take my time before I decided to make the purchase. Naturally, we had to come to an agreement on the pricing, but overall the purchase went with any problems. They say you'll always remember the salesperson who sold you your first car, and luckily I had a pleasant experience.

I had a great experience with my sales person Cory D. He was very knowledgeable about the cars and service and what his dealership provided. He gave me time to think and make my choices without any hassle. He was also very honest and up front with me and listened to what I wanted in a vehicle. I did not get to my price point without a hassle but ultimately they made it a great experience.

Contacted dealer by email to check inventory, all questions answered clearly and got a bottom line price with all taxes and fees detailed. Came in to take a look, salesman pointed me at the car and otherwise stayed out of the way. No pressure, no hassles, they should all be so good.

I just purchased my second car from Antwerpen Hyundai. The dealership has gone downhill and the buyer has to do more work and challenge the salespeople. I got the best pricing on the internet but had to call as they didn't return my emails. I had to explain the rebates (that I viewed on hyundaiusa.com) as they didn't give me credit for everything available. I had to push on the math from the internet price to how they computed the on the road price. After careful review, I found a $525 error in their favor. I pointed this out via email but when I got to the dealsrship they started with the higher price. After pointing out to them it was calculated incorrectly, they lowered it. They also allowed a $300 internet coupon from their website. I paid ~ $19,350 on the road for a Sonata SE V6. It takes lots of work on the buyers part but they have the largest inventory in the area and can deal on price better than anyone else but you have to be persistent.
