I am just beginning my search, and due to past experiences I was not looking forward to walking into another dealership. Being a woman, I often have to search out a sales person, otherwise I am ignored. This time however, this was not the… case. Kevin immediately approached me with a smile and made the experience both enjoyable and educational. When I return to the area this summer I will definitely be purchasing a car from Kevin!!!

The Worst

Salesperson Maria Payan claimed floor mats not included with new car, then tried to extort a good online review in exchange for floor mats, then took 3 separate tries to actually order correct mats that actually… fit the car. Once she realized this would take more than one try, she actually asked “can you just live without them?!” We were shocked at her laziness. No, we bought a new car. We expect the floor mats and decent service. She also was reluctant to install the floor mats each time she ordered them (“do you want me to put them in?”!). Later Maria told us, in writing, to come by for our complimentary car washes because the new car wash was open. When I arrived later that day (1/25/25) Rick (Manager) claimed it was "too cold.” When reminded it was 45 degrees, he helpfully mansplained they were just "too busy." Look it up - at 3 pm on January 25, 2025 it was 46 degrees in Northbrook, Illinois. The car wash where I later took it had a line around the corner. I don’t know why, but that was the last straw for me. I told them very colorfully how substandard their service had been from the start. I’m not usually one to get upset easily but they pushed me and pushed me with many interactions over several months. I feel pretty humiliated about spending that amount of money to be treated so horribly. My attempts to come to any resolution via Toyota Brand Engagement have come to nothing because they have no control over their dealerships and Rick simply lies and says the car wash was closed. The sale is concluded so you are dead to them; that the message I’ve received. Literally every time I gave Toyota on Edens a chance to provide decent service, they biffed it completely. These wasted my time, they are disrespectful and dishonest. Once you buy the car, you're dead to them. So, I will not return. It’s 5 minutes from my house but I’ll have the car serviced elsewhere. You know the feeling when you just know any interaction with a place will be overwhelmingly negative?! They will screw up, lue about it, waste your time and disrespect you?Yeah?! That’s how I feel about the people at Toyota on Edens. I get a sick feeling just driving by. And please note, they tried to condition delivery of my new car’s floor mats on my writing positive reviews. So that should tell you that ***the positive reviews you see here may not be sincere.*** If you like spending many tens of thousands to be treated like garbage, you will love Toyota on Edens!!!Great customer service!

by Nicholas Hodge on 03/01/2023Brought the car in for brake work (ABS light and E Brake light came on). $1500 later, the car was flat out unsafe to drive as you couldn't slow the car down unless you pushed the brake pedal all the way to the floor and really put all your… weight behind it. Also, the ABS Light and E Brake light were still on. Technicians claimed it was safe and the brakes were fixed - so clearly not competent or safe. Service Center Manager sided with technicians and blamed "rain" for why the technician didn't realize brakes were not safe/fixed.Car not available when we got there.
by Laura on 02/26/2023Called to confirm car was available as we live almost an hour away. Salesman confirmed over the phone that it indeed was and asked if we could be there before 2:30 that day. We told him we were on our way and that we were 45 min to 1 hr… away. We arrived within the time we said we would. When we arrived and had to search out the salesman he told us that the car was NOT there but would be there in 45 to an hour. We asked to see the manager. Ariana came out and said "what's up?" She apologized but we received no explanation from anyone. She proceeded to want to show us other cars. Bait and switch? You decide. We walked out but before leaving parking lot received a call back that the original car we came to see WAS there! The entire dealership was very unprofessional. ÎHorrible experience. Would not buy from them if they were the last dealership in the state.Great Place for your next Toyota
by WMaxon on 01/18/2023Maria Payan and John Lee did an excellent job with my Rav4 Hybrid purchase!! Both were friendly and personable and cover any question I had. 10/10 would recommend this dealership to any and all in the area or surrounding areas.Look elsewhere if you are in the Chicago area
by Matt on 09/14/2021I expressed an interest in a Prius and was told that the price, because of a market-adjustment fee, would be $3,000 above MSRP. Shop around if you are in the Chicago area. There are Toyota dealerships willing to sell at MSRP.
