Purchasing our new 2017 Chevy 1500, double cab, 4x4 Silverado from Dave Smith Motors was the best experience we have ever had buying a vehicle. Mr. KC Kinder the Salesman who worked with us to purchase our new Truck is very; committed, professional, courteous, knowledgeable and experienced with the vehicles he sells. Bait & Switch

Brutal. Classic 'bait & switch' tactics. A complete reminder of days past where we didn't trust car salesmen. Strongly recommend to run or drive the other way. Avoid purchasing or leasing from Dave Smith Auto in Kellogg at all costs. If not, it WILL cost you! Was assured of monthly price and made down payment with verbal agreement that the sale would not cost any more than what was discussed. This was on a complete understanding that I was bringing in a leased veficle that was due to expire. I could have brought that vehicle back to original dealer and dropped it off. However, it was decided that I would do just that at Dave Smith as a way to make the process easier. After I left with a new vehicle, I was billed for over $2,000 for the difference in trade-in. Complete incompetence or simple bait and switch tactics. I can go on about the poor training of the sales associate, Moriah and the lack of attention from Phillip, the Sales Manager. Bottom line- Dave Smith will say anything to close a deal, and will do nothing short of robbing you blind in the process.

Run, Run away.

Dave Smith is a terrible place to shop. the salesman lie and mislead and do not know there products. do not trust them. in fact run away, far away. Jack is this old guy, he knows little to nothing in reality. do not trust anything other than what is presented on legitimate manufacturer paper, like the owners manual. Dave Smith is well known at corporate Nissan as a troubled franchise. i have had several conversations with reps. I am lobbying for penalties for there current business practices.

Bad Customer service

This was the third and last car I will buy from Dave Smith, I was lied to by the salesman and asked to lie to the finance company. After I refused his manager threaten not to ship me the truck that I had bought. Was told that all vehicles were delivered with a full tank of fuel, barely had a 1/4 of a tank and had not even been serviced. No one replies to emails, and seemed I had to always call someones manager to get them to give me information. Sat in the showroom for 2 1/2 hours waiting on the paper work to done, overall bad experience.

Worst Auto Experience Ever

Worst auto dealership experience ever! After selling the car we negotiated right out from under me I messaged the General Sales Manager Scott Johnson with no reply. Terrible service and professionalism. This is the letter: "I am messaging you because I am absolutely furious about the experience I have received from your auto dealership! Please see the above correspondence between myself and your salesman, Tate. When I initially dealt with Tate, I did not have a good experience. However, your company sent me a general "How did we do" email on August 14th and I expressed my concerns. I was contacted after that from Tate with an offer and I excepted and asked for more details. As you can see by the constant messaging between us, he was horrible at corresponding. He kept telling me the car was in the auto body shop. I thought it was VERY odd that he was not having me fill out any paperwork. I kept emailing asking where we were on this deal with NOTHING in response! Finally, I called Tate on Saturday and he actually answered. He told me not to worry that the car was still in the shop. I got back from the weekend on Monday and thought I should call to follow up because I had a very funny feeling about this entire situation. I left a message with no return call. I then left a message for Brian, his team manager, with no return call. I was determined to actually talk to a human to find out what in the heck is going on with the vehicle I am purchasing. So finally on Wednesday, I kept calling until I found a person to speak with on the phone. I was informed that the vehicle was sold in August! WHAT!?!?!? I just talked to Tate Saturday and he told me it was in the shop?! I have never experienced such unprofessionalism from a company before and I am super disappointed to not have the opportunity to have the exact vehicle that I had been searching for over a year. I have never worked so hard on my end to spend $44,000! Shame on you for not responding to my concerns and complaints. I went out of my way to keep open communication and move forward with this deal. YOU never responded. Shame on Brian for not calling me back! I won't even begin to talk about TATE's work ethic and customer service. EPIC FAIL! I am not usually a "review" person or a "Yelp" person but I am glad to know there is a place that I can air my frustrations and complete dissatisfaction for a company. People need to know the lack of professionalism and they need to understand that your company will sell a vehicle right out from under a customer even if the customer has done their due diligence."

Frenchie was outstanding and very helpful! He was very attentive and focused on helping us get what we wanted. Suzy was good, but failed to realize the headliner was water stained due to a leaking light cover. The issue was resolved in a timely manner, however. We also had issues at the end of our transaction with them leaving my wife off of the sales agreement, not refunding our $500 for the hold of our truck and not providing me with the correct documentation needed to register and license my new vehicle.

Experience not what I expected

This review encompasses the first month of owning and my experience buying the vehicle. Buying- The process had a few hiccups that were frustrating and tainted the whole experience. 1. Before purchasing the truck, communication was great. After I purchased the vehicle it was difficult to get anyone to respond to my questions. The reason I had questions was because I was told my truck would be ready by the end of July (which I planned a trip for) but it wasn't ready on time and I ended up having to call/email multiple times to get a pick up date confirmed (August), and that was frustrating since it was a six hour drive. 2. They tried to give me a higher APR on my loan. My salesman told me what the going rate was for a loan's APR with good credit through Dave Smith. Since I have a decent credit score (800) I assumed it would be an easy transaction but then the loan dept called and quoted me at a 3.25(?)! I was frustrated that it was a good .75 higher than my local credit union and almost a full point higher than what I was quoted. I asked why it was so high and was told that they factor in a lot of things. Long story short, I said I would just use my local bank and within a minute they called back and gave me a 2.49. I felt like they were just trying to make more $$. 3. When trading in my vehicle they tried to lowball me multiple times. The truck was in great condition and easily worth the high end of a trade in. I was told that since I purchased my truck (July) and now (August) my trade-in had gone down in value.... What??? I tried to get to Dave Smith in July but they had problems and delayed the pick up of the vehicle. So despite my purchasing in July and agreeing to a value in July, they now wanted to give me a lower trade in because it was August. I may have finally negotiated the price I wanted but I shouldn't of had to do so. The delay was their problem, not mine. 4. Once on the property, the process took three hours. I already had all my paperwork in so it should have be expedited. Yet, I waited and waited. After a 6 hour drive, the last thing I wanted to do was wait another 3 hours and haggle over a trade in/ wait for a financial person to make the transaction. Since purchasing.... I really enjoy the truck but it makes a whistling sound when cold. It sounds like a belt is loose and after doing some research online, it sounds like this is very common for the Ram 2500 gas engine. I am not happy that I need to take it into a dealer with less than a 1,000 miles.

This was the very best car buying experience I've ever had before. Our sales person Dan was always courteous, professional and friendly through the whole process. From the moment we got there all the staff took it as a personal interest to ensure we were comfortable and happy. The atmosphere of this dealership was unlike any I've ever been to, it felt more like a big home where everyone's having fun. There's no high pressure sales pitches. Our finance person didn't try to up sell us anything we weren't interested in, he was friendly and got us taken care of quickly. The Jeep was exactly what we expected, it was clean and full of fuel when we arrived. Dan did a great job of explaining the vehicle and took us around to meet service and accessory staff who answered all our questions. We don't have any complaints or anything we wish had been different. We're totally happy with our purchase and the process. We're going back to Dan in a few months to get my fiancé her Renegade.
