Worst Service Department in Columbus, GA

I took my vehicle in for a repair that was still covered under warranty on 12/28/16. Was told they had to order the part and would call me when it came in so they can complete the repair. As of 7/14/17, I had never received a call (like the paperwork said they would) so I went to the service department to find out what the status was. Even though the paperwork clearly stated what the problem was, what the solution was, that the part was ordered, and there is N/C (no charge) with being under warranty, apparently the part was NEVER ordered and now I'm being told it won't be covered under warranty since the warranty period is now expired. To which I replied, "well it was still under warranty when the problem was identified when I brought the vehicle in so it should still be covered under warranty." The person then said, and I quote, "even though the part was ordered while the vehicle was still under warranty, if the part comes in after the warranty period is up, the part and service is no longer under warranty." FYI - my vehicle had 6 more months and almost 6,000 more miles of warranty when I took the vehicle in for warranty repair. Now I'm just 2 months and 600 miles over the warranty period. I've heard nothing but negative reviews about Legacy Chevrolet & Cadillac of Columbus, GA and they are definitely living up to their reputation. I would drive over 100 miles to get service before I ever go back to this dealership! I will never buy from them again either.

Don't Do It!

Let me start by saying I only gave this review 1 star because 0 stars wasn't an option. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I bought a used truck from Legacy on 31 DEC 2014. They promised in writing that they would fix a small chip in the windshield and wash the vehicle. I brought the vehicle back on 02 JAN 2015 and after being called to pick the vehicle up I arrived to find that the windshield still had the chip, and a very lackluster detailing had been completed (pretty sure all they did was make the tires shiny). There was still adhesive on all the windows that formerly had stickers applied to them. They told me that their contracted window repairman would be in contact with me shortly to complete the windshield. I called back two weeks later after not hearing a peep in reference to the repair and was once again promised someone would get in contact with me. Still nothing. That only begins to scratch the surface of my dissatisfaction with this organization. I called the bank that was the lien holder of my trade-in on 20 JAN 2015 and was informed that the payoff check had not been received. I called the finance department at Legacy with no answer, and then spoke with the manager of pre-owned cars who promised me a call with some answers on the morning of 21 JAN 2015 about the payoff and my windshield. After not hearing back I called the receptionist at on 22 JAN 2015 at 12:13am and again at 1:54pm and 5:44pm and asked to speak with the General Manager who was busy all three times and failed to return my call completely. I found out the next day (23 JAN 2015) when I called at 11:45am that he had left on a vacation after work on the 22 JAN 2015. The receptionist transferred me to the finance department near Atlanta where I left a message for Jessica and, you guessed it, never received a reply. On the 22 JAN 2015 at 8:45am I received a text message from Danny (my salesperson) asking me to call him from his personal cell phone. I replied and told him that I was waiting to hear from his GM, due to his and his manager's negligence in relation to the issues. He called me (again from his personal number) at 1:18pm and once again promised to have the window repair contractor contact me. The contractor did not call me. I called the receptionist again that day at 4:54pm and explained my situation in regards to the payoff and windshield. She offered to transfer me. I told her that I was done doing the "leg work" and that I wanted Legacy to call me back with some real action. After not hearing back from anyone once again, I called the receptionist again at 2:15pm on 23 JAN 2015 and reiterated my displeasure. At 2:35 I received a call from Dennis (window contractor) and he set up an appointment with me. I asked him when he first got the notification that I needed repairs and he told me 22 JAN 2015 (3 weeks and 11 unreturned phone calls after the purchase). Immediately following that phone call I received a call from Ann (unsure of her position, but so far she seems to be the only employee that remotely cares about customer satisfaction in the whole dealership). She assured me that the manager of the finance department near Atlanta would call me back. Ill update as the story unfolds. I will be copying and pasting this story to every website that is geared toward commerce reviews until my hands get tired. Not only will I not recommend Legacy to anyone, I will take the initiative to tell everyone I come into contact on Ft. Benning to avoid this dealership. Wonder why I keep such detailed records of my dealings? It makes it easy to copy and paste this into a BBB and federal and local trade commission complaint. If I could find the owners number somewhere I would call him.

I worked with the internet sales man named Joey... He was such a pleasure to work with. He answered all my questions, honored all the commitments he made, and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely buy another car from them. They have a huge selection. If your in the Columbus Ga area and looking to buy, I highly recommend Legacy Chevrolet. Contact Joey... He is awesome!!!
