The staff stepped up and for us did the right thing. Special thanks to Kyle Tabar, Service Director, and Fernando Santori, our Service Manager. My wife and I got stationed in Key West, FL so we got her a 2010 335d from Hendricks Honda in Bradenton, FL. This way she could drive home to Sarasota, FL to visit her mom when she wanted and not worry about fuel prices. July 2015 I she went up to visit and get the car serviced while I was away. It needed an oil change, diagnostic check, and the AC belt tightened due to squeaking. My wife made these things very clear before bringing it in since we live 370 miles away. She picked the car up Friday afternoon and drove home Saturday. On her way the car started blowing hot air around Islamorada. She found an open AC shop and pulled in to have them check out the problem. The mechanic popped the hood reached in and pulled out the AC belt fully intact and off of its pulleys. By this time the compressor was shot and so the mechanic did not put it back on. The next day trying to get the car to Homestead to the closest service center 100 miles away the water pump went, the car overheated, and all coolant was lost. Out of time to make the service center we towed the car to a dealer (not BMW) and traded it in. Over the next several weeks I went back and forth with the BMW Sarasota service manager, Mr. Tabar, and others in the upper echelon, from Mr. Ram on up explaining what happened. They denied ever touching the belt and denied any responsibility. When I told them if they didn't touch it they were supposed to so they're still responsible, I was offered a 500$ discount on a car at their dealership. I took pictures of everything and sent them in to them but heard nothing back. I sought legal counsel on the matter, but was told the sum I would get from them wouldn't be worth the legal expenditures. Over a year of owning the car we had no problems. One trip to BMW Sarasota and the car starts falling apart. Horrible vehicle service and whats even worse, atrocious customer service. If this dealership is your last option on earth for service, trade in your vehicle next door at Lexus or across the street at Mercedes.

Bait and Switch...Watch out..

Bait and switch dealership. Was looking for a X5. Communicated through emails but wouldnt honor their own communication. Tried low balling my trade. Removed the registration card from my car without my permission. Saw the sales associate having it in hand while appraising the trade. Lost it within 5 mins. No apology so far...so better beware before you go there.

Never Again!!

I'll preface by saying the service department was excellent and the salesman was nice, however, the numbers agreed to when the vehicle was ordered didn't jibe with the lease paperwork. We went by a deal advertised in the paper, paying cash down to cover the extras. Our signed copy of the contract to order paperwork only had one value of vehicle number on them. (all the rest of the figures were missing). Later, at lease inception, we were sold warranties under a false claim that we would have to pay to replace the tires on a three year lease. Our payment went from 430 to 600. The fees we previously negotiated out of our contract, we saw later, were inserted back on to the lease, (over $1,500. of them). We were never able to take the $1800. diesel tax credit advertised because they would not give us written verification that they hadn't taken the deduction themselves. We are usually more detail oriented, but we were busy fighting health issues at home. We sat with the manager, before turn-in, who told us he would look up the paperwork and call us by the following Thursday. He has yet to call since mid August. The last slap in the face is the $350 turn-in fee not mentioned at closing. I don't know if the salesman is aware of what goes on or not. I hope not, but I have never been so ripped off and lied to anywhere! Make sure you keep a copy of your sales contract and it has the figures you agreed to on it. There will be no more BMWs in my future.

Unhappy customer

I purchased a new BMW and signed my contract on 5-27-2013. I had a horrible customer service experience that the new car General manager could not resolve. I took it up to the President/owner of the dealership and it could not be resolved. I then called BMW USA and filed a formal complaint on 6-14-2013. That same day, I got a call from the General Manager stating that the President/ owner of the dealership was not happy that I got BMWUSA involved and that they wanted their car back. I explained that I was uncertain of the legality behind their verbal request and was then threatened that my deposit would be returned even though I stated that I would willingly return the car. Upon further investigation with BMW USA financing, this dealership never submitted my signed application for finance even though I signed the contract 18 days prior and also wrote them a large deposit in which they cashed. I have filed formal complaints with the BBB, the Florida Office of Financial Regulation as well as with Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Buyers Beware. I will be immediately returning this vehicle to the dealership immediately and taking my business to a BMW dealership that is deserving of my business. Anyone have similar experiences with BMW Sarasota?

Amazing Service from Scott

I purchased a used Lexus from BMW of Sarasota mid-February. I usually don't take the time to post reviews, but in this case I really wanted to send kudos to BMW for the excellent service I received from Scott Foster in used car sales. His patience and kindness were outstanding. From the first moment I stepped foot on the property he assisted me and my numerous questions for hours on end. At no point during the time I was test driving vehicles did I feel rushed or pressured. For many of us buying a car can be a stressor with the thought of salesmen and financing, but I never felt any anxiety with Scott. I have told all my family and friends about his sincere and personable service. Congrats to BMW for having such a stellar and caring employee.

Couldn't get an onlibe quote

He first said he'd quote it online. I emailed exactly what I wanted. Then he said he couldn't email a quote because it could be used in negotiations with another dealer. We started to build the car to get a verbal quote and he kept adding options I didn't want. When I said no to them he said he'd have to talk to a sales manager and that he'd call back in 20 minutes. I never heard from him again. I was after a valid build from the BMWUSA site, nothing unusual. Not recommended.

Good Experience @ BMW of Sarasota

This was my first time initiating a sale via the internet. After several days of communicating with area BMW dealers I was down to 4 cars and three dealers. I chose BMW of Sarasota because they seemed most willing to work with me on my unusual trade in - a 15 year old BMW that was in exceptional condition. Over a few hours, we negotiated a reasonable price for a slightly used 2011 BMW, and after a lengthy appraisal process, they valued my trade at a price very close to what I would have expected from a private sale to a BMW enthusiast. The internet associates I worked with, Rico, Ed, and Susan, were true professional who turned, what can often be an unpleasant stressful process, into a very comfortable buying experience.

I bought my first used 06 BMW 325 i from another source but had all the service work preformed at this dealership. I then traded in that car and purchased another newer used BMW from here. The primary reason was Kyle, my Service Advisor, whose knowledge and advise were right on. When he wasn't around, for some reason or other, the rest of the advisors jumped in to help me. I never felt I "was alone". Then, they kept me very comfortable and advised while the work was being preformed.

I came in with my trade-in BMW and a great deal of information about the 'newer' used BMW I wished to purchase if the price was right. 'Mo' gave me all the information I requested about the car and a test drive. After that, he answered the questions generated by the test drive. After some usual haggling, we came to an acceptable price. The primary reason I went to this dealership in the first is that's where I had all the service preformed on my trade-in and found my Service Advisor, Kyle, to be excellent. The entire Service Department always filled in for him in the unlikely event he wasn't around.

Do Not Buy from BMW of SARASOTA

BMW of Sarasota is absoutely the WORST dealership I have ever dealt with. Be warned and DO NOT buy from them. Two days after my purchase of the Certified Pre Owned BMW X5, the check engine light came on. I took it for service at BMW of Ft. Myers. The staff advised me that the battery needed to be replaced - apparently the battery had a recall and should have been taken care of before this car was sold to me in Sarasota. Another concern with my X5 purchase is the fact that when I purchased this CPO vehicle, I was given only one working key. BMW stresses that their CPO program is so thorough If this is the case, then why is my car in service two day’s after delivery with these five problems? Also, the “rigorous inspection” completely overlooked routine maintenance which should have been taken care of several months ago. Oh did I also say that BMW of Sarasota will be doing NOTHING to rectify this...What a shame.

BMW Of Sarasota - Buyer Beware!!!

Recently purchased a 328i from BMW of Sarasota. The car was represented as being untitled. Became suspicious of the dealership due to the demeanor of the salesman and the sales manager and went to DMV and had them do a check. The vehicle had been titled. Went to the dealership and confronted the salesman and the sales manager and the sales manager presented me with a Car Facts document that he said I signed proving that I knew the car had been titled. I told him I have never seen this document and that is not my signature. I signed immediately in his presence and we verified that it was not my signature. I also told him to look at the date at the bottom of the internet printed document. The date was 10/12/10. I then told him to look at the date on all the contract documents. It was 10/9/10. I then said why would I go into your dealer ship 3 days after the original purchase and sign a Car Facts Document. I then contacted BMW North America and BMW Financial and they gave me the runaround for two weeks and then said I would have to go back to the dealer. Dealer did several things to try to further gain financially including not giving me the Holiday Rebate that I had coming. I am amazed that such a high profile company is willing to risk their reputation by using such shady tactics!!! I will never buy another BMW again!!! Buyer Beware!!!

Bad Experience!

My battery on my 2005 545i needed replacing. Instead of doing that, the dealer charged it up and I promptly got stuck some 4 hours later in a Walmart parking lot. I had to have the car towed to the dealer the next day and they installed a new battery. The dealer didn't want to install a battery the first time, because it was free maintenance. I brought the car in the first time just to avoid getting stuck. This dealership's service dept. really let me down. By the way, my service rep. begged me to give him a great rating when BMW would call me for my evaluation of the service provided! To add insult to injury, they provided me with a dirty Chevy Impala as a loaner. Some upscale dealership!
