Diver - A Company We Can No Longer Support after a 25.5 Year Relationship

Have had a positive relationship with this dealership for 25.5 years buying our first Suburban there in May 1992. Nothing but positive outcomes for the first 24.5 years. We have had 3 of our cars serviced there over the past year and each has had to go back to have the work corrected as not done correctly the first time. With most recent issues took to the Service Manager, Steve Martino on 3 different occasions and felt his responses in the last two interactions were very dismissive. Also brought the concerns to the owner's attention of the Franchise, Rich Diver. He just called back and said Steve was aware and dealing with. We had only escalated because we felt Steve was not addressing. Had never escalated an issue ever before the past couple of months. Said goodbye to the one salesperson, Bob Havens, we worked with over all those years. Now spreading the word with all the folks we have recommended there over the years that Diver can no longer be relied upon. Just went to my neighbor whom got a new truck there in the past year on my recommendation and explained the calamities we have experienced and some other places he should now seek out to get his vehicle serviced going forward. Will see the rest of the folks at holiday parties, get togethers over the holidays, and will send emails to rest of them to make them aware of our poor experience the beginning of the year and suggest they steer clear of Diver going forward. Some folks need to be put out to pasture there, as the idiom goes. Diver is a company we can no longer support and will no longer recommend to our friends, family or business associates.

Great Experience

I came to Diver after when knowing narrowing my decision to between two vehicles. Mark Thompson helped me make a decision on the right vehicle for me and my family then I discussed my lease vs buy options with him. Again Mark laid everything out on the table, spent some time with me to answer all my questions and made sure I was happy the vehicle I wanted and the monthly payment. Best experience! Couldn't be happier and will absolutely recommend Diver and Mark! Thank you for such an easy experience.

Horrible Service

I brought my car to the dealership for the same issue (check engine - emissions system) 5x. When I asked about lemon law I was told 'that I can not help you with that as we feel we have fixed the issues that have come up.' When it came time to come back the 5th time I was told there would be no rental for over one week and I would have to wait. This is unacceptable to me as this is an issue the dealership caused by not fixing the issue properly the first time. Also, they are a dealership that has used cars and are certainly able to loan one out. The ONLY reason I still go there for service is that I am still under warranty. Also, during the time it took to fix my car I had 2 families/friends who were interested in Chevrolets ask me about Diver and I sent them elsewhere for their purchase due to the unacceptable level of service I have received. I am a very dissatisfied customer and not happy with their service at all. I am currently looking into contacting GM myself about this issue. Do yourself a favor and don't ever go to Diver. Save yourself the headache.

Truly Exceptional, Easy and No Hassle

Truly excellent experience. Had issues locally near Philadelphia getting correct information, despite being a large market, and looked elsewhere. One phone call with a request of what we wanted to Dave Johnson at Diver Chevrolet, who assigned Mike Finocchiaro and all was handled, car located, and delivered to the office without a single hassle or issue. Highly recommended, and first time ever doing business with Diver. Definitely will again.

Almost made me waste my time

I negotiated a good deal on a 2013 Chevrolet Volt. I am coming from New York City and I called on March 20 to negotiate the price. This dealership is located in Delaware . I was emailed a bill of sale stating that the Price of the car was good until Monday pending I came with documentation and payment. I call today, March 21 before I prepare to make the three hour trip to Delaware. I spoke with the salesman who stated that the car actually sold this morning. That's business, I understand you have to sell so who has the cash or finances at that time. What really bothers me, what I think is unethical, is that no one from the dealership bother to call me to tell me the car was sold. You hear about these things all the time, that someone from out-of-state comes to get a deal and the car is sold and now that person is stuck at the dealership possibly in a position to buy a car that they don't want because the original car was sold. One of the salesman here noted to me that it was just a miscommunication and the two parties I was negotiating with were out Saturday. I find it very difficult to believe that no one from the Friday shift told the rest of the salesman hey there is a person coming in here with $20,000 just a heads up. I chose this dealership because they had great ratings on Google and other dealership review websites. But I had a really bad experience with them and the type of service and courtesy extended to me what's typical of a used car dealership. I'm not sure I would let the people at Diver Chevrolet sell me a bottled water or fill up my windshield wiper fluid. In all fairness, I did not technically complete a purchase or transaction with this dealership, but I think when you look at the context of why that is it speaks volumes as to what their level of customer service is for potential customers

I was comparing the Traverse to a similar competitors vehicle. Trina asked if I really preferred it to the Traverse and I did not, it was about the payment. She got the payment to work for me and I left in the Chevy I really wanted.

I went up Diver from down southern Delaware to see about purchasing a 2014 Malibu. I meet up with Blane in sales and he made it a very relaxing stress free purchase. Ended up buying a 2LT off the showroom floor. Blane and Clay in Finance where the best salesman I have very dealt with. They answered every question I had. Will go back there for everyone of my car purchases. If you are in the market for a new chevy take the time and go see Blane at Diver. They treat you like family.

Excellent Purchase Experience!

From Test Drive to signing the Purchase Contract, Scott F. at Diver Chevrolet treated me with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. Because of the unique characteristics of the Chevrolet Volt, he devoted extra time demonstrating the features of the vehicle. There was no pressure. All questions and concerns were addressed in a straightforward manner. Scott really exhibited a passion and deep knowledge of the vehicle he sold me. After my purchase paperwork was completed, he spent 30 minutes signing me up to onstar and making sure I was ready to drive my new car home! There are a number of Chevrolet dealers much closer to where I live that I could've visited and bought from. I first decided to do some research and found many positive reviews regarding Diver Chevrolet and I decided to give them a try. It was definitely worth the extra distance! I was very impressed by the facility and by the people who worked there. Everybody I came in contact with was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions I had. I am very happy with my vehicle and enjoyed my entire purchase experience at Diver Chevrolet!!

Review of my Sonic from Diver

I was very pleased with the sales process when I bought my Sonic. Trina M. was a very good saleswoman. She was not pushy but very willing to help me see and try all of the features of the car. I am a small woman so I'm really pleased how the car fits me. I sit up high and can see well. I like how the daylights stay on all the time while the car is running. I love having On Star and have kept it and used it several times already. I really like all the features of the car. I like how the key is made so I can unlock the car before I get to it and the lights flash when the open door is pushed which helps you find your own car in a parking lot. Though it is a small car, the trunk holds a lot and the inside of the car is roomy. I like how it clearly shows how much gas is left and all kinds of other information. I like everything about the car and feel comfortable driving it. I like how it gives you a lot of information on the dashboard. I think I made a really good choice in buying it and Trina was the person who suggested I try it out. Even after I bought it and took it, I went back and she helped me and sat in it with me to show me some things I was unsure about. I love my Sonic.

Our sales representative Clay W. was so warming and extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable about all the different vehicles we looked at. Totally lied to me!

Salesman lied about every aspect of our experience. He told us that he gave us "the lowest possible price, "to the penny" that GM would allow with the employee discount (the internet sale price was less!). Then told us that he could not possibly get us financed on this 20,000 dollar vehicle, but he could definately get financing on a 30,000 dollar car due to the rebates! BALONEY!!

What a great experience! I needed a car, and they helped me get it. Everyone was great ... very helpful, professional, and quick. Got the financing that I needed as well as a great price and a great car. Many of the dealerships I contacted never bother to get back to me even though there was an email and cell phone number. A couple of dealership I spoke with were not very nice over the phone.

Every bad experience at other dealerships is just the opposite here. They showed excellent respect, fairness, no pressure or stress. Even I accepted the deal, they kept working to make the deal even better; and they did!!! I recommend them to any honest person looking for an honest deal.

Not a dealer of their word

I've had nothing but headaches with this used car dealership from day one when I stepped onto their lot. They are very eager to sell you a car, but if you want them to keep their word you'd better either bring a lawyer with you... or get *everything* they say in writing. After we had "agreed" on an out-the-door price for the car I was looking at, the next day when we did the sale they had tacked on an extra $200. Nobody there has any recollection of the agreement we made (like I said, get it in writing), and they claim they can't go any lower than the new price. (Why'd they OK the price from before?) Anyway, I caved to the headache and we agreed to split the difference. Since I don't live in the same state as the dealership, again they "agreed" to mail me the title, registration, etc. in a few weeks for a fee, while I drive around with temporary tags. More than a month later I still haven't received it, and when I called them they *again* have no record of it. At this point in time I'm waiting for the documentation to get here; hopefully in a timely fashion... While they act very friendly, agreeable, and eventually apologetic, they do not keep their word. My advice to anyone looking into buying from these guys is to not settle for "verbal" agreements - write everything down and have your salesman sign and date it; otherwise, you'll have a similar experience.
