excellent service in Milford, CT

by wildbill37x on 02/17/2015

Ms. Sharon Hayes explained the components of the service and encouraged the use of a couple coupons I had received. She was knowledgable and enthusiastic and made the process easy.

Happy Camper

by Sonny1947 on 01/30/2015

Although I don't drive a camper, the phrase works for me. I always receive the best service advice from the reps and my S80 is still the best car I've owned and they keep it that way. Volvo parts are always expensive but so are most other car brands. My wife's XC60 is also kept running like a top.

Stay away, poor service

by CTDave005 on 08/16/2014

I want to give this place negative stars. The Volvo service department is terrible at best. I went here to have a code cleared from my 07' S40 due to my own doing. Just to get the code removed the service adviser Colin wanted to charge me the full diagnostic fee. I got the general manager involved and he was not helpful a bit. The customer service is completely lacking in the place. The general manager is arrogant and the service adviser seems laid back and disinterested. I will not be returning for any service. I'll go out my way rather than keep this place in business. I'm interested to see how long they last.

This is why Dealerships have bad reputations...

by coimbragirl on 07/09/2011

I went in for an engine check light on and was told that someone would look at it and I would be there about hour and a half. Given that there were only 2 other people waiting before me I didn't understand why it would take so long just to look at what the problem was. Its not like they were fixing anything yet. After 2 and a half hours, I was told that I would "maybe" need a new gas cap that sometimes from all the turning its got wear and tear, etc. Ok, got that. Then they offered me a FREE multi-inspection so they can look over my car - 2009 Mazda 3. They told me that I needed front and rear brakes and also a transmission flush because it was "so black." So 2 and a half hours later and a grand total of $850!! I had just had my transmission fluid flushed on June 7, 2011....exactly one month ago at Valvoline. I called there to confirm that this is the service that they did and it was correct. (Btw, transmission flush at the dealer...$199.95, at Valvoline...$134.99). As for my brakes, my Dad had just checked them over the holiday weekend so those were good too. So I go in for a check engine light and I get hit with a laundry list totaling $850 but all I need is a new gas cap which is what....$15-$20 tops? Nice...real nice. Its situations like these that dealerships get a bad name for themselves. They probably saw me as a dumb young girl who didn't know anything about cars. So they felt it was ok to take advantage of me. And oh yeah....they charged me $103 at the end for checking over my car...you know turning off that sensor for "check engine"...so much for that FREE multi inspection they mentioned when I walked in. This just goes to prove that its best to go to a smaller trusted service center than the big name dealerships that just want to keep taking advantage of people to make a buck. I would highly NOT recommend this dealer for any of your service needs.

never again

by al61 on 06/08/2011

Never again will I buy a used car. I guess I expected this dealership would go over the car with a fine toothed comb before putting it on the lot for sale, especially since it was previously a lease vehicle. The small details were not addressed, and I paid full asking price for the car. After I got home and really inspected the car I found some small things I wanted fixed. When I asked them if they would do the small repairs they refused and said I should've noticed them before. I'm talking SMALL things, like a couple of holes in the drivers seat, a gouge out of the glove box door, unsightly touch up job on the bumper, and a second key. The car wasn't even detailed before I picked it up. He made me feel like I should be happy to have paid so little for the car, which was over $22,000, and he did the best he could for me. I've bought plenty of cars before and the dealer has always addressed any small issue I may have had and fixed it at no cost to me. It is very hard to get in touch with anyone who has authority there also. I suppose I just wasn't a well educated consumer on this. I assumed that any Volvo dealer would take pride in the high end cars they sell and want to make the customer happy. I was wrong. Never again will I go to this dealership for a car.
