Deceptive Business Practices
BUYER BEWARE: Last week on 08/10/17, I made an 1100 mile trip from California to Longmont Ford in Longmont Colorado after settling on a 30k 2016 Ford Flex Limited - for what turned out to be -The Worst Experience Ever! I asked my salesman, Steve Formby, for specific details on the vehicle (i.e. scratches, damage, dings etc). I also asked Steve, why the vehicle was not a "Certified" vehicle and his response was: "The vehicle has too low of mileage and is not needed. It costs too much to certify and our prices are firm." Once I arrived to the dealership on Friday afternoon, I did a walk-through of the vehicle, and immediately noticed damage to the front bumper. The bumper had, two, very deep scratches including a small hole about 1/4 inch diameter. I immediately pointed out the damage to Steve, and he replied, "Just needs a little California "putty" fix." My fault for not inspecting it more thoroughly for the 'door dings' and bent passenger side door. I noticed them once I washed the vehicle for the first time. While driving the vehicle just outside of Denver (50 minutes), I heard a loud vibration coming from the front end of the vehicle. I pulled over, and noticed that the bumper had separated after fastening clip and tabs were broken off the inner part of the bumper which was not visible to the naked eye. After visiting my local dealership in California, they stated, that the damage to the door was "physical" and I would bear the expense of repairing it out of pocket. I then proceeded to a local body shop, and they wrote an estimate of 2450.00 for the complete repair. I just paid 30,000.00 dollars for a vehicle that needs over 2k in repairs! I took the Steve's word! A reputable dealership with decent online reviews - but then again, there are many sites you can leave your reviews - some show good reviews, others not good. My sole purpose is to educate and share my personal experience. It's not fair, that a dealership take advantage of consumers. Used vs. Certified: A "Used" car, is just that.. USED. You must physically inspect your purchase thoroughly. Take two or three hours out of your day to make the Right Choice. DO NOT PURCHASE ONLINE - I cannot stress this enough! If you see a vehicle price that is "Too good to be true," then, it most certainly is. DO NOT TAKE THE SALESMAN'S WORD. Pay a mechanic a few dollars to protect yourself from dealerships that want to separate you from your hard earned money - you"ll be glad you did. A "Certified" vehicle ensures you purchase a quality car with no underlying issues. Yes. You will pay on average of 1,000-2,000 more, but definitely worth the heartache and aggravation. "One Owner": When you hear the phrase "One Owner," you, like most, automatically think the vehicle was registered only 'one time'. But what if the 'one owner,' was Rental Car Agency? Rental cars are driven "hard." So hard, that premature underlying issues arise when purchasing a previous rental. The dealership DOES NOT want you to know that the vehicle was a prior rental. So when I opened the glove box for the first time, and noticed the previous owner paperwork [Enterprise Car Rental], I felt sick to my stomach! I knew immediately why I was having issues from the very start. Final Thoughts: Longmont Ford has deceived me as a consumer. My purchase was made directly through my credit union that sent payment directly to dealership via Overnight FedEx. Since the vehicle was paid up-front and I had no recourse - I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Although you may see an online site that gives this dealership and others a favorable review, keep in mind, that there are many sites that don't necessarily give the same reviews. Take your time and research - a lot of research! I have thorough documentation and photos. UPDATE 08/18/2017: Taking my vehicle for a warranty issue in California, I was told that my vehicle would NOT meet California emissions. That any emissions warranties would not covered as it was a "Canadian vehicle" and emissions laws and regulations differ from my state. Unreal that Longmont would actually and knowingly sell this vehicle to me. It is shameful that they continue with their deceptive business practices! A call to Ford Corporate is next. Seriously - Do Not Buy From Longmont Ford!
Here's the deal, our salesman was awesome. He genuinely did everything he could to make us happy, including try to get us a refund for the shady add-ons they snuck into our contract (they have signs posted about this, but nobody ever mentions it). He's not the problem...the management here is and they will do everything they can to try to ream you (and fire salespeople who don't go along!). This includes not honoring the USAA TrueCar price I was given for the VIN I was actually buying, tacking on "protection" plans you didn't ask for nor want/need, low-balling your trade value and of course the usual BS of trying to force an extended warranty on you. Unless you want to spend hundreds on "protection" plans for something you can't even verify was done (paint and fabric protectant) and to have to keep having the finance person redo your deal, I'd shop elsewhere.

Worst customer service
The service department of this dealer has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They do not appear to value or respect their customers. I had a service issue and instead of trying to resolve the issue amicably, the service manager got defensive and patronizing with me and basically told me they didn't value my business enough to come up with a mutually agreeable solution. We have bought multiple cars from them and never had a specific problem with the sales department, but we won't be going there for sales or service ever again.

My husband and I bought a used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban from Longmont Ford. Big mistake. The sales person kept saying he'd bet his mother's life on the reliability of the car. Then after signing the docs it was dark and the interior of the car was black so we didn't notice that there weren't any floor mats in the vehicle (The floor mats were pictured in the listing so we assumed they'd be in the car when we left). We made contact with our sales person who said that he'd get into it on Monday. No apology. When I didn't hear back from our salesman I called down and when he answered I asked how he was to which he responded, "Oh I could be better"... He then started to say he'd been in a meeting for the last two hours about his boss thinking he stole us as customers from another sales person since I'd exchanged one email with someone else. I was pretty uncomfortable with the exchange but offered to speak with someone to assure them that we hadn't really been working with someone else to which he responded, "No, it's a fireable offense to have even mentioned it to you". I wondered why he would mention it then. We then got a call from Misty who said they were unable to locate the floor mats so they were going to order us new ones. Great! We drove down to Longmont to pick them up when they arrived and they were generic rubber mats. Not floor mats that match our $45,000 car. I went back in and asked to speak to a sales manager who seemed shocked that the stock floor mats would be pictured in the car listing and without offering any apologies he said he'd get into it with Misty on Monday. It's now Monday afternoon. No follow up. To top it off I filled up the gas for the first time today and there is no gas cap! These things seem like simple things that should at least be mentioned during the sales process. I would think it's pretty standard for a $45,000 car to come with floor mats and a gas cap!

Purchase of 2013 F-150 Lariat
Richard Waters helped me purchase a truck that I had looked at for some time on the company website. Rich was extremely helpful and honest about pricing and negotiating prices and values of both the truck purchased, as well as the truck traded into the dealership. The financial assistant, Donovan Hernandez, was also incredibly helpful in letting me understand what my options were, and which makes the best sense for my situation.
First, let me start by saying that I read all the reviews for this place and I was skeptical about going here, but because of my wife, I went. Before we even got there, the sales rep Greg Milczuk was very professional and seemed to truly want to assist in getting us into the right vehicle. After test driving two different vehicles, he gave us the keys to play around with both and left us to figure out which one we wanted. No pressure and absolutely no hassle. The longest part of this car buying event was me trying to decide which vehicle I wanted. Since I was already pre-approved, it only took an hour from start of paperwork to driving off the lot. This was the easiest car buying experience that I have accomplished. I would absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone.
I went in to just do a test drive. Walked out with a new car. Everyone was amazing. From the sales guy to the finance guys. Nick has been great....from putting up with me to making sure everything down to the little detail was taken care of. Really can't thank these guys enough for your patience.
VETERAN'S DAY 2016 PURCHASE
My experience at Longmont Ford with Sale Consultant Mr. Greg Milczuk was a very easy and quick one. I purchased a 2013 Ford Escape SE with no hassles, just the upmost of professionalism. They understood that I drove-up from Colorado Springs and just wanted to know if they wanted to make the deal or not! I can honestly say I spent more time on the test drive, than closing the deal. Great Buying Experience
I just wanted to take a moment to recognize our Ford salesman Darren Berkow. He answered all of our questions, took time to explain other facets of the F150 we purchased. He described all of elements that the vehicle can do while towing. No sales pressure and walked the lot with us for our entire stay. Longmont Ford is Our 1st Choice for Ford Sales and Service
Three things we look for and appreciate in a Salesperson... 1 They know the product they are selling. 2 They are personable and easy going. 3 There are no high pressure tactics employed. Darren Berkow scores highly in all three categories. Darren's background as a Ford Service Technician gives him insights that you can't put a price on when working with a salesperson to make the best purchase possible. He assisted us in finding exactly what we were looking for after a brief discussion of how we intended to use our newly acquired F-150. The truck is everything I have been looking for over the past few months. We highly recommend you ask for Darren if you are headed to Longmont Ford in search of a fair deal. We were introduced to Longmont Ford about seven years ago when I took our 2002 F-150 in for service. I've been a loyal customer since that time. Their staff is top-notch, in our opinion.
RUN the other way!
While looking through their online postings I found the unicorn car. Right year right mileage all the bells and whistles I was looking for etc. So I called and spoke with Greg about the car. He sent me an "updated and more accurate description" of the car by email, which confirmed that it was indeed the unicorn I had been hunting for. So my husband left work early, and we drove the 2.5 hours from the springs to go view and test drive. We had every intent of leaving there with two vehicles. When we arrived Greg had gone home for the day and left no notice for us or anyone else that he was gone. After a few the receptionist connected us with Andy. Andy went and got the keys and we left for a test drive. With in about 30 seconds we realized that the online post and Greg had both lied to me. Not only was this not the unicorn, but it wasn't event the unicorn's little brother. The mileage was wrong, there was no navigation, no back up camera, no improved audio package, etc. Andy was at a loss. He had no idea what was going on, and kept telling us that from the paperwork this should be the same car with those bells & whistles. In the middle of the drive we pulled off the road to double check the VIN, which matched with the emails and the online posts etc. After returning to the dealership Andy went and found his manager (Chris? Honestly I've forgotten his name. Tall, bald, smarmy guy ** After looking through the employee photos it looks like this guy's name was Pat**) who offered to put in aftermarket items to bring the car closer to what we were here to see. So we discussed adding in a back up camera and navigation system etc. Chris? promised us everything we wanted would happen and in a week or so they would deliver the vehicle to our home in the Springs. Queue up 2 hours of sitting and waiting while they figured out paperwork. Finally we drove home exhausted and frustrated, but thinking we had what we wanted on order. The following Monday we get a phone call from Andy saying that he was unable to put in the aftermarket items we were promised. He then went on to offer us $1000 off the sale price in exchange for not being able to put in the $3000 worth of aftermarket products we had agreed on. Not once was there an apology for wasting our time. Not even mild regret for losing the sale. Needless to say we told them to take the whole contract and kill it. I will NEVER deal with these people again. And I strongly encourage every single one of you to run in the exact opposite direction of these guys. Longmont Ford is the reason we should be able to give zero stars in a review.
Slippery, shady, dishonest. Incompetent. Longmont Ford exemplifies all that
I ordered the F150 and negotiated the deal as I have done in the past from this and another dealership. I figure that if I am going to pay $55k for a vehicle, it should be equipped EXACTLY as I want it. Previously, when I have ordered trucks it took only 4-6 weeks to get it built and delivered. This time it took 9 weeks. No big deal. The sales rep, Elya, sent me a text photo of the truck the day it arrived. I immediately noticed that it did not have the tow mirrors that I had ordered. To me this was a very important feature. It turns out that the fleet sales manager, Jerry Derden, made a mistake in ordering the truck. Everyone makes mistakes and Jerry was apologetic, but Longmont Ford was not at all willing to correct this or their subsequent errors. I was given the choice to either accept the truck as is or wait 9 more weeks for them to order a new truck. The tow mirrors add just $165 to the price and can be added at the dealership. Even though it was their mistake, the management at Longmont Ford refused to make it right by swapping the mirrors. In fact, the sales manager, Brent Danner, refused to even come speak with me when I came to the dealership to discuss the situation. But I thought I really wanted the truck, so I decided to GIVE the dealership my additional $500 factory ford incentive if they would swap to the tow mirrors. To this they agreed, but their tragedy of errors and miscommunication continued. The mirrors were to be overnighted and installed on Friday. I received no call from anyone until I called on them on Monday. The sales rep, Elya, was out of town, so I spoke with Jerry Derden. Jerry said that the mirrors had arrived but were not yet installed. They were to be installed that day or the next morning (Tuesday). I received a call from the sales rep, Elya around noon on Tuesday, They had still not installed the mirrors nor had they even started with installing the bedliner or mudflaps!! WHY? They had had the truck for 9 days! The truck would not be ready by Wednesday as planned, but I would pick it up on Friday. When I went to pick it up, the mudflaps they had installed looked like something that belonged on my sons toy truck. WOW. This time it was my bad. I apparently needed to specify that the truck should have real mudflaps. I went to the parts department and got the cost of their mudflaps. Since I had not specified in the original agreement, I told Elya that I would pay the difference for the mudflaps if they would just swap them out. This would be a few minutes work. Elya came back after a few minutes and stated that her general sales manager (Pat Grooms?) told her that they were not going to do any more work on the truck, not even to swap the mud flaps that I was willing to pay for. This was the last straw for me. Something was telling me that this was the wrong place to buy anything, much less a $55000 truck. So, I walked away. Update 3 ½ weeks later. Longmont Ford still has the truck, they have removed the tow mirrors and the flimsy mudflaps.
Incompetent salesperson and rude manager
I wasted 2 hours at this dealership, while Andrew tried to find keys and cars. Twice he asked me to find the cars I liked out on the lot. He couldn't tell the difference between an SE and a Titanium. The sales manager was rude and not helpful. If you want to waste an afternoon here, go for it!
DO NOT BUY from them
In august, I purchased a used car for 11k. The car had a bad transmission. As the weather got cold the car began acting very strange, not shifting smoothly, not shifting into second gear etc. I took the car to my mechanic and he told me the transmission was bad and that it had been driven very poorly for a long time. I went to longmont ford, where I purchased the car, to get some kind of compensation for the transmission. They told me their mechanic had to look at the car. Their mechanic said that the clutch was bad and needed replaced. I did not get the clutch replaced because I trusted my mechanic. After driving for 1000 miles the transmission have out. When the transmission was replaced the mechanic looked at the clutch and said it was fine. Not only did they sell me a bad car but they were going to charge me another 1200 to replace a clutch that I didn't need. Also, when I purchased the car I was told they were going to replace the struts, tires, change all fluids, and change the brakes. I was told they would look at anything else that needed replaced or due to be replaced and replace those things. They only changed the oil, put two tires, changed an air filter. [non-permissible content removed]. Do not give them your money or business.

My dealing with Shanann K. started in June with a quick curiosity stop into the dealership. I told what I was considering and left. She was keep me informed but was not pesky. In one of the emails (Dec) she sent me, I noticed a car I had some interest in & notified her. She had the car delivered from another dealership, we had a negotiation session (fairly quick) and I signed. The whole process took about 2 hrs. At this point I am happy with Shanann's and the dealership's service and pricing.

I had a internet price on a 2011 F-150. Regular cab, long bed, V8. Not an easy truck to find, for 18K. They had two. I was promised by Vico he would email me if either one of the trucks sold. I drove all the way from WA. When they stopped answering my emails. I got worried. Sure enough, they sold both for $16,500. Considering the profit they could of made off my trade in and the check I was willing to write, they loss money. These people [non-permissible content removed] even before I got on the lot.
I purchased a 2007 Dodge Durango form these guys and if the sales process wasnt nightmare enough... When I took the truck in for emissions, it FAILED! I immediatly took my truck to the nearest Dodge dealer, where they found several problems, including the check engine light NOT working. I was not able to have the vehicle repaired there it had to go back to Longmont Ford. Chris kept saying, "we are going to make this right." What I didnt know is his idea of making things right was trying to band-aid the problem instead of fix it. They want me to pay for the repairs. #1. It is illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle with the check engine light not working. #2. It is illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle that doesnt pass emissions. BEWARE they will try to hide behind a little disclosure on the emissions coupon that says, the emissions must be done with in 3 days of the date of purchase. If you have a 90 day temp tag, why would you go get an emissions with in 3 days? If that isnt horrible enough, they replaced a bulb in the dash and returned my vehicle with wires hanging out of the dash.
