Extremely Disappointed.

This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had in over 25 years of having Mercedes Benz vehicles. I will NEVER return to Palm Springs Mercedes and I have advised my family members who also have owned Mercedes exclusively to move our business over to Walters Mercedes, the next closest dealer to PS area from here on out. My regular service advisor, who was always as pleasant and helpful as could be, left on medical leave. Because of this I was left in limbo for some time, which I understand, but that still gives no excuse as to the way the service manager spoke with me. He was abrasive and rude regarding my concerns over a serious recall on my vehicle and the issues I was having. A scary situation indeed, and one you would think would be addressed with more care. He told me at the end of the conversation that each dealership was independently owned and that they had the right to refuse service to anyone. WHAT?!? Wow! We will indeed be taking our service and business elsewhere. Never have I been treated this way in my life. As a business person in this community and an individual with a family business being right here in Palm Springs for over 60 years, I am appalled more understanding was not conveyed. I had a feeling the dealership had gone downhill, and this experience confirms that.

Flat Tire

Called my service manager, Rick, to say that I was up in the High Desert and had blown out a tire. I could be there in 20 to 30 minutes if he could provide me with a new tire. The answer was, I will put on a new tire or provide you a loaner. Did not have the tire in stock, provided me a loaner and returned my SUV to me the following day. Excellent service and a pleasure to work with from the initial phone call to driving away with my new tire!!!

Do not use this facility for service!

Brought my SL500 in for a failed alternator (or so the car's computer said on the malfunction message). PS Mercedes charged nearly $400 to diagnose the problem (Its high, but I agreed to pay it) plus they charged to replace and install the alternator, which again, I'm okay with. The problem is they also replaced the accessory battery (in the trunk of the vehicle) which was a repair and replace of a part I never authorized. The battery they took out was only one day old. Plus, they charged $150 to remove the battery, a procedure that takes no more then 5 minutes (I know, because I had just changed the battery the day before bringing it in). This dealer never tested the battery they replaced, never told me they were going to replace the battery (I advised them the day I dropped it off that the battery was new), and to make matters worse, they charge an outrageous amount to do so. This shop is unethical, incompetent, and completely untrustworthy. Don't go there....

Palm Springs Mercedes Awful again!

We have a TPMS that leaks on the front that should be covered by warranty! We did also have one that leaked on the rear, and I had that replaced when we put new tires on the rear. I have asked the dealer each time to fix it, but This Mercedes dealer tells me that they don't do anything with tires! "It's a safety issue per the service representative" Each time he says he will look at it, but does nothing! This time they said there was no warning light on! How stupid! I told them that I had put air in the week before so the light was not on! I still have to put air in the one tire once a month until I put new tires on the front! I would never recommend going to a dealer that cant touch tires! The last time I had the oil changed at this dealer they had the nerve to tell me that they cant reset the service light, since I only changed the oil. They said I could figure it out online! When I complained and argued with them they reset the light. You're better off going to an oil change place for a 1/4 of the price, and they will automatically reset the light! If you can go somewhere other then Palm Springs Mercedes, do it! Walters in Riverside is great!

Very good experience with Brenda D. from Palm Springs MBZ. I live in Los Angeles and had contacted no less than seven LA county/Ventura dealers in an effort to lease a 2016 C300 with sport package. Brenda was the only dealer rep who did not attempt to bait and switch or waste my time otherwise via sending quotes for cars that did not match my stated criteria. Deal was efficient and no nonsense. Thanks Brenda!

My first visit to the Mercedes dealership in Palm Desert I was waiting in the lounge for my car and thought it should be ready. So I enquired and found that my contact had gone for lunch/ dinner. My invoice was sitting on his desk. If I had not asked about my car who knows how long I would have been sitting there. When I got the car home I noticed it had not been vacuumed or wiped in the back seat. I was disappointed. Since I have been a Mercedes owner for many years I have always had top notch service in my home town of London Ont Canada. The inside of my car has always been well cleaned after service. This was a B service I had done. Someone followed up re the service on the phone and I told her I was pleased with the service of my vehicle but not the cleaning of the inside but she really did not care about that. Experience was excellent. Vehicle engine light came on near end of a 500 mile drive. Called dealership while in route and arranged to drop off and utilize a loaner. 3 working days later picked up the repaired vehicle.

Truly corrupt service department

I am writing this review after waiting over two weeks for a response from the service director and MB USA. Not the first issues at this dealership, MB USA stepped in last time and got things rolling. This time I have heard nothing back and the situation is even worse. The bottom line is they said I had a fuel leak and a switch needed to be replaced. The wanted to replace all the fuel lines due to this leak. I suggested that there was no leak that the fuel they saw was from the recent repair they had done. I took the car to another much more reputable dealer and sure enough no leak, no need to replace the switch. On top of all this they damage several items on the car and didn't even put it back together correctly. All this was just during a regular service and not a repair. Numerous times while going there various customers would be yelling and cursing at service reps, I should have taken that as a sign. Go there only as a last resort and make sure you document and photograph everything. Additional information, documents and photos available upon request.

Before any confusions are made about my rating I want to clarify what I am reviewing. The Service and Parts guys at Palm Springs Mercedes are great. But the sales staff is very rude and unwilling to help. I guess maybe because the service and parts guys actually work for their money, unlike the salesmen who act like they own the dealership. If you don't smell of money, they will not even help you, and if you ask for a test drive they might tell you that you are not worth the time. That being said I would highly recommend driving 1 hour plus away from Palm Springs Mercedes to any other mercedes dealer, where you probably get a better price and will get treated like a human being.

My E 350 is receiving a "c" level service. Basically, its an oil change/filter plus an air conditioner filter. Cost, they inform me, is "about" $420 (turned out to be $370). Wouldn't be so bad if I received value for the excessive charges, but they heap abuse on you to top it off. Rude service intake ("you can do whatever you want') when asked if I could bring the car back when they were ready to service it rather than let it sit on the ramp for hours. "It takes a week to reserve a loaner car, do you want to come back". 4 hours already for the service and its still not done. Oh wait, its done--I called for a ride back to the dealer and upon arriving found that it was finished and sitting there--no one called to say it was ready!

I took my car in for it's annual oil change. The car said it needed service A, Mercedes said it needed service A, but Palm Springs Mercedes said I needed service B. They argued with me treated me like I was stupid and sent me on my way. Dealing with the service manager just got worse, he's a rude nasty man. I will never go back and for my next service I will be going out of town.

MBZ Palm Springs Can't Fix CLS 550 Brake Noise on 2008

I purchased a CLS 550 in February 2008. Within six months of purchase, I took it in for repairs under warranty due to brake squealing. Five repairs later, all under the warranty, and the brakes still squeak. I have not had this problem with any other vehicle I have owned. Very aggravating given price of the product.
