SHADY & WILL DENY DENY DENY ACCOUNTABILITY

by BulldogFam on 11/20/2014

11-17-14 Located an 06 Yukon Denali XL at Irvine location and reserved it for Appt the following day. Arrived early and reviewed vehicle for 45 min alone. 10 major issues on SUV (3 safety related) and vehicle was priced at full excellent condition pricing. The sales person was called out to the lot and I informed him of the issues. His manager came out and drove the vehicle away to the garage to fix them. 45 minutes later I walked to the garage and asked to see what was being done to the vehicle. They refused. I stated the deals off unless I get to see. I was walked back to the Denali and all was fixed except for $750-$1K lot damage on a scraped front bumper and side mirror. The three safety issues left were worn 20' tires showing 7/32, 4/32, 6/32 & 7/32 tread depth. The alignment was noticeable off from tire wear/scrub up front. A rubber plug was used on the back tire (instead of a patch) and protruded from the tire a full 1". I laid it all out to the Sales Manager (Mark Bentley) and asked for new tires or price reduction for wear and unsafe patch job on HiPerf tires and alignment. He refused and stated "We wont play that game, it's fixed pricing. The alignment has been checked in a 100 point inspection, the tires are at or above 4/32 tread depth and we only replace a tire if it has two or more plugs. This is an AWD vehicle and I stated I would need 4 new 20" tires after I drove it off the lot. That's $2-$2.5K for the same tires mounted and balanced. I mentioned that GMC service manual states the tread depth will ruin the diff on the vehicle, the tires are unsafe for my 3 kids and the alignment is off. I called and spoke to Rubin at CarMax Off of the Pres and explained the sitch. The solution was to find us another car. Of course there were no other model match vehicles like this around. I made Mark record the tread depth of the tires on my invoice to verify they were selling me a vehicle with a potential disaster until it had new tires and alignment. After that was settled I demanded a test drive of the vehicle. The alignment was off, the vehicle pulled to the right and the steering wheel was at the two o'clock position when driving straight. After getting the transmission to kick down to 4K+ revs the motor has detonation or mechanical noise like bb's inside. The salesman (last of 3 I had) said they'd get right to work to fix everything. I left in horror. I got a call then next day that the alignment was corrected and the engine fixed. They weren't sure what was wrong with the motor. The sales person forgot what it was. The vehicle is back up for sale on the lot today (two days later) with a bad motor and tires 104828 miles $17.998(Stock: 11149907). We had to drive 115 miles but got an 08 model for $20.6K w/ 97K miles that booked at $27K in NADA. It has the 4SB trim level with remote start, NAV, DVD, heated steering wheel, back up cam and every other option. We Drove to Hunter Dodge/Jeep and spoke to Roy. Run from CARMAX!!!

CarMax of Irvine, CA. I went in with my step daughter on Saturday 1-4-14, she purchased a ford explorer for $10,900 she paid the down payment in CASH, Dave the sales person said they use "Edmunds" in lieu of "Kelly Blue Book", when we went to the credit union to finance the ford, they said the Kelly blue book rated the explorer for $8,000 (they overpriced the vehicle by $2,900). So we took it back to CarMax the next day. We worked with Steve S. with the return process: they returned her down payment in the form of a wire transfer check from "Well Fargo". I explained my concern more than once on the fact that we paid CASH and we did not want a check that the bank would hold for 5 to 7 days and Steve assured (promised) me that I could deposit the wire transfer into my account that day and the money would be in my account the next day!! Not so, my bank wants to put a hold on it for 7 DAYS!!, I called CarMax and talked to the manager (of the day) Kim and she said that it's a Liability for them to give cash back to a customer (even though I paid in cash) and they always return in the form of a wire transfer. Now they have tied my hands behind my back and my daughter cant get a vehicle until this check clears and if it doesn't then the saga will continue!!!This is utterly ridicules!!! CARMAX employees are [non-permissible content removed] and deceitful!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARMAX........
