Unsatisfied: Bare Minimal Service from Sheehy Ford in their Service Department in Richmond Virginia. Being in the military for 23 years, I know a thing or two about service. When I came into the Sheehy Ford Dealership in the morning for an oil & valve cover gasket servicing. I felt Jeff Dowdy (customer service representative) in the Service Department was slow getting to his desk when I showed up at 8:30am. Another customer service representative covered for him in the beginning. Once Jeff finally showed up after about a quarter of hour or so later, he was quick and effective in telling me they can replacing the gaskets in no time... I am thinking, great, this place is not wasting my time! So I came back in three hours which my vehicle was finished. So Jeff Dowdy ask if I would like to have the 'Service Engine Soon' Indicator Light turned off. I was thinking this is unprofessional for a Ford Dealership to fix an issue & forgot to turn off the Engine Indicator Light... Attention of detail is definitely lacking at Sheehy Ford Dealership. I told him, Yes, please clear the code which he did quickly. Jeff completed the transaction & out the door I went. No Resolution: About 10 miles down the road, the Engine Indicator Light when off. So I called Jeff Dowdy at the Sheehy Ford Dealership. I ask him about the gaskets and why the Engine Light is ON again. He stated, we only performed the gasket maintenance and no other troubleshooting (no diagnostics) was done on the vehicle even though the Engine Light was ON. He then blamed it on one of his coworkers for not telling him I wanted the problem fixed. He referred to the problem as my issue that Sheehy Ford Dealership did not do a vehicle diagnostics. The bottom line was Jeff Dowdy was unfriendly and unhelpful in solving my issue. I have zero confidence & trust in this individual. I move down the road and get it fix somewhere else. Ive been to all 50 states and I've been to many Ford Dealerships around the country, too. I would not recommend the Sheehy Ford Dealership in Richmond VA. It definitely lacks Commitment to Service. Repeat buyer and still happy!
Wife and I worked with Pete Karys for our previous Ford Explorer for my wife and he was great back then and great this time in getting my wife exactly what she needed. The vehicle options was in a vehicle in another location and they brought it without asking and had it ready for us. Total sales process from parking to driving away in her new car was 2.5 hours. Great prices online and no hassles. I hate buying cars but Pete makes it easy. We will always buy our Fords here!
Take your cash and business elsewhere
I purchased a used 2013 Boss 302 from this dealership in early July, 2015, which about 9,200 miles. After agreeing to the purchase, we waited for 90 minutes to two hours for the finance department, even though we were paying for the car with a cashier's check. The salesmen disappeared, and we sat, waiting, and waiting, and waiting ..... Except, of course, for a couple of visits from other employees trying to upsell protectants, etc. Even though the dealership was running a barbeque, no one bothered to offer food or snacks. While we were examining the car, the salesmen assured us the trackey was properly programmed and functioning, in spite of repeated questions and concerns from us. Upon arrival in California, the vehicle was inspected by CHP to verify the VIN, and which time we discovered the car had been in a collision which did not appear on the Carfax report as it was not paid by an insurance claim. This was not disclosed by the dealer. Further investigation into the trackey, requiring several visits to a local Ford dealer, revealed the trackey programming had been corrupted, resulting in a service change to reprogram the key. A report to Sheehy management yielded no response, other than a claim the it was fine when the vehicle left the lot. I also had to have the wheels spin-balanced and an alignment performed, resulting in additional charges. The service enter reported that significant adjustments were required to properly align the vehicle. It will be no surprise that I suggest you take your business and cash elsewhere.
Fantastic Vehicle Buying Experience!
I found the Ford Econoline Van I purchased advertised online. I went to the Sheehy Ford Lincoln Richmond website and clicked on the Internet Chat with one of the sales associates, Rex Dix. I asked him a lot of questions. Rex gave me direct, up front answers to all of my questions (everything he said was spot on and happened exactly like his answers). I had to travel from Maryland to Richmond, VA to test drive the van and he scheduled a convenient appointment for me. When I got there, Rex was busy with another customer and he gave me over to the capable hands of Judd Baker. Judd was very personable, he listened to what I was looking for, was courteous, honest, upfront and direct. I test drove the van and we sat down to make a deal. The entire process was painless, smooth, and honest. I came in ready for tough negotiations with already crunched numbers in hand - and none of it was needed. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, You need to go to Sheehy Ford Lincoln of Richmond and ask for Rex Dix or Judd Baker. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had!
Deceptive pricing and poor follow up
This dealership had a low price of $24,579 on a new Ford Explorer this past Saturday. I came in and was quoted one price, and then via phone on Sunday agreed to another price with Stephen. When I asked him to email me the detail so I could provide a deposit, he said he would. This was at 1:30pm on Sunday. When no email came, I called and left a voice mail at 3pm, and then tried again at 5pm, having him paged. No reply. Today I sent an email, and a sales associate called me. The salesperson said that the online price was wrong, and there is nothing he can do. I spoke to the manager (Jordan Fooks), and he relayed the same thing. I find it odd that the price was online and good in an intial writeup on Sat, and now it is not. Especially when their sister site (Sheehy Ashland) has the same car at the price we were discussing. I also find it cowardly that Stephen didn't have the guts to call me back with this news. I had a car on hold at Carmax for 24 hours that I lost as of 4pm Sunday. Thanks to Sheehy Ford of Richmond, I've now lost out on two vehicles. Terrible...........and when they sat down, they told me they are all about "transparency'.............well, talk is cheap people. It takes courage and integrity to back it up.
Great Service and Great Car
In the fall of 2011, I had the good fortune of meeting Aaron and driving a Ford Fusion 2012. After almost 20 years of driving foreign cars (Camry and Accord), I am now driving and Ford Fusion Eco Drive. More than 3 years and 40K miles later, I still LOVE my Ford and the service I get from Sheehy!

I had an amazing experience with Sheehy Ford! I leased my car through them. It was my first time doing all of this on my own, and I really wanted the best SUV for the best price. Aaron P and the rest of Sheehy made it obvious that they wanted this for me too. The entire process was seamless, even though I was 500 miles away in Connecticut!
