I had the worst experience there with sales people and their managers. Tony from sales is horrible and his boss Moussa who when I told him I got a better price at spring branch Honda he replied you should go buy from them then. Really unprofessionals and after the hurricane Harvey all dealerships are full of customers except their place. No wonder. I dont recommend it at all.
Avoid - Dishonest Dealer
As everyone else I was cheated at by the finance Manager who promised that if I pay 40$ extra a month I will be fully protected and at the end of the lease Hond representative will not examin the car at all as I am fully insured and the above amount covers also Gap insurance. When I received the documents couple of days later it was extended warranty for 5 years instead of 3 on 3 years lease...When I asked the dealer either to honor their promise or return my extra monies they refused to do. Avoid them at any cost.
Addon Concealment Fraud
Absolutely worst experience, stay away from this place. They practice addon concealment fraud. After negotiation a price, when you do the financing, they put lots of addons, the price will go much higher. They also cheat you to sign the contract telling you can select those options later. But after you sign it, they will tell you nothing can be changed. I suggest everybody got cheated here go to OCCC website to file a complain: http://occc.texas.gov/consumers/file-a-complaint Also you can contact Attorney General, or file complaint at Texas Department of Motor Vehicles http://www.txdmv.gov/contact-us
They add packages in the contract and push you to sign it. They said you can change it later if you don't like it. But you can not change any thing after you sign the paper work. Don't trust them. Stay away!
Terrible Sales Process
Over the past two years, I've attempted to purchase two cars from Honda Cars of Katy; in late 2015 a used Accord for my in laws, and this year a new CRV for my wife. I cannot tell you how frustrating this process was with them and in both cases we were unable to reach a deal. On the Accord, I found a good looking CPO Accord at Honda Cars of Katy, that was in their price range. When I drove the car, it was good, but it was in dire need of tires; two were almost bald. So at deal time, I told them it needed new tires or knock $500 off so I could put tires on it. Their response "we're a State of Texas inspection station and we say the tires are fine". Next, when they presented me with the paperwork, the car was at the price I wanted, but they added lifetime oil changes and nitrogen in the tires. I told them my inlaws would probably drive 5000 miles a year, so unlimited oil changes were not of value to us, and since I was going to have to change the tires immediately, take off the nitrogen. They refused to remove either one, so I walked and bought a similar car for my inlaws at CarMax within a few days. Next, my wife and I have been shopping for her a new small SUV. We narrowed it down to the CRV, BMW X3, and Acura RDX. We assumed the CRV would be the best value/lowest price. I spoke with one of the sales reps at Honda Cars of Katy about a low mileage 39 month lease on a 2WD, EX-L CRV. This was important because my wife had to have heated seats and a sunroof. The rep kept coming back telling me they had a great deal on a lease for a LX model CRV, the base model. When it finally got through to him that I didn't want an LX, he quoted me a monthly lease based on full MSRP for the CRV. We were able to lease a base model RDX for less than what he quoted me on the CRV; plus our price at John Eagle Acura included free oil changes and car washes for three years; something we would have paid extra for at Honda Cars of Katy. So our sales experience with Honda cars of Katy was horrible on two different occasions, I will give them very solid ratings on their service department. When we moved here in 2012, we drove Hondas and their service department was always very good, whether it be for routine service or a couple of warranty related issues. I would have no reservations having my car serviced there......but I'll never buy a car from this dealership unless there is a significant change in their sales methodology.
Most amazing service, honest and trustworthy.
I had a great experience searching for a family car. Deena listened to what I wanted and what my family needs were. I was able find a car within my price range that I love. My new car! Thanks Deena!
After I lost my truck in the flood last spring, I went to Honda Cars of Katy. Walked the lot a few times before the salesman Barry approached me. It was a relief to experience no hardcore pressuring; really down to earth guy. Knowing I had made up my mind, he only showed me the versions with extras and another marked down, but I settled on the first one. Just wanted to say thanks Barry for being as concerned about my satisfaction as I was about buying one of the best built cars on the road. Everything was the way selling should be and others can learn a lot from you, and yes, I still love my new car.
Dishonest / Sneeky
Have bought 2 cars from them and will never again. Negotiated a price and trade in with sales. Finance was a whole different srory. They will take refunds from such as extened warranties and insurance and use it for additional profits. With so many documents and them telling you lies it is easy to fall for the tricks. Don't believe sales or finance. Over the course of time, I have found more and more wrong information, of course in their favor.
I had a really bad experience with Finance Manager. This people only want to get their sales done. They will just tell you whatever they ubderstand will secure the sale. Ripped off. It's not coincidence everybody has the same complaint. Management is setting the wrong tone at the top. Be aware that 5 star reviews are polarized with the incentives they offer to the employees. There's a reason why they are only getting 1 and 5 stars... there's no negative stars.
My family decided that it was time to trade in our 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor with only 14,700 miles for a small car to use around town. I work from home and we have a Honda Odyssey, so a small car sitting in the driveway most of the time is much more practical than a Raptor sitting in the driveway most of the time. I had a pretty good idea what the truck was worth, but I used the Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer website to see what the "No-Hassle" price would be at dealerships in the area. The Kelley Blue Book quoted a trade-in range of $54,532 - $57,912, and a Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer of $54,532. I quickly received interest from dealers, including Honda Cars of Katy. Here is the email they sent me... "Dear Charles, We have received the information on your F-150 that you entered online using the Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer, and I have reviewed it with our Pre-Owned Manager. We're extremely intrested in purchasing your vehicle so consider it SOLD! Are you looking to sell outright or trade-in? What is the best time for you to stop by the dealership so we can verify the offer? We're open 9am-9pm. It's important to ask for me when you arrive. Your Instant Cash Offer is valid for 72 hours from the time it was generated, so please contact me at your earliest convenience. Again, I look forward to meeting you and working together!" To me, it looks like the $54,532 was accepted and that would be the least I would get for the truck barring any deficiencies in the inspection. I drove over to Honda Cars of Katy and they offered me $48,000. I told them that was offensive given the email I'd received and what I knew the market value to be. Next, they offered $50,000. When I refused this offer, a manager came over to explain that they spoke with their wholesalers and the most they could offer was $50,000. I declined and walked out. On the drive home, I called the Internet Manager to understand why I got the email offering one thing and was given a much lower offer in person. She kindly explained that they just started using KBB and that they may discontinue the service, but in the meantime they would change the wording of their auto-generated email response. No human approved the KBB no-hassle price before I was told to consider my truck "sold". I understood the trouble with the technology and suggested that they make changes to avoid angering customers and wasting their time in the future. I was not going to write a bad review even after the trouble until I looked up the Blue Raptor they have on the lot now. It's a 2012 with 43,356 miles and they are asking $46,934! 2012, 43,356 miles, asking $46,934. 2014, 14,700 miles, offered me $48,000, then $50,000 final offer. It's their business and their right to run it however they see fit, but it's dealerships like this that give all dealerships a bad name. I won't even get into the bait and switch they tried to pull on the car I was interested in. Let's just say, whatever their "internet price" states, add a few thousand dollars.
Dishonesty at it's finest
The price you negotiate for will not be the same price in the finance office at this dealership. I guess they are hoping that you are not paying attention, because the base price went up $1700 walking from the showroom floor to the finance office. When you try to walk out on the deal, they step in front of you, apologize and do everything they can to get you back in the finance office to close the deal at the price that they want you to pay rather than the price you have already agreed upon. Avoid Honda Cars of Katy!
Five star review
Eva Krueger was friendly and very helpful in the service department. Would definitely recommend her!
Excellent service and communication!
I was very pleased with how well I was treated and communicated with. Eva was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in helping me through the process. Will be back for sure.
STAY AWAY FROM HONDA CARS OF KATY!
Be very careful if you want to purchase a car from Honda Cars of Katy Dealership. I had a very bad experience with them. They are very dishonest. First they charged me add-ons I had not agreed upon. Then they held on to my contract so that I wouldnt be able to cancel these extra add-ons. So make sure the paperwork matches the price you have negotiated with the dealer. Have the dealership give you a copy of the documents right after you have signed. DONT ACCEPT THE CONTRACT TO BE SENT TO YOU BY MAIL. To this day I dont understand how the justice system allows [non-permissible content removed] to rip off its customers!
Bait and Switch, Dishonest, Incompetant
Classic BAIT AND SWITCH scam here. I had been in email contact with this dealership for a couple days. I emailed the buyer's order that I walked away from, showing list price, no fees for add-ons, TTL and total drive out cost. Tiffany Lively emailed me back and promised to honor that price on the same vehicle, and any negotiations for a lesser price must be done in person. I had EVERYTHING in writing. Tiffany flat out refused to honor what she personally emailed me. Tiffany said my car did not have any add-ons and they attempted to look up my vehicle by the VIN number to confirm the add-ons but were "unable" to find it. They were either incompetent or lying because it was listed on the other dealer's website that I was able to search on my own. They even "threatened" to call the other dealer. She didn't even have time for me when I drove out of my way to visit the dealership. The only positive about this dealership was Simon, who actually showed me the car. He was nice and informative but it's unfortunate that management here is extremely dishonest.
I spoke with a service guy his name was Drew... since my interior lights was not working, he looked at it and said that all fuses was correct and he recommends diagnostic charge of $99 and the bill may go up to $1,000 depending upon the results of the diagnostics. When I came home I researched google and Youtube and was able to identify the exact fuse causing the problem....I looked at the fuse and that fuse was burnt, I replaced it and everything was fine. Imagine a fuse worth $5 vis-a-vis $1,000 !!!! ... these guys don't know what they are doing or they planned to just rip me off !!!
Bad after sales support
I dont recommend this dealer, especially their finance department. Dont expect good service after your purchase. I am entitled some insurance refund after refinancing a car I purchased, a 2015 Honda Civic. The dealership promised to help with the papers but in fact they failed to send all of them. When i called the insurance companies after a month wait, there were documents missing, although we filled out the forms and i got a copy of them. When i called up Honda Cars of Katy and talked to a manager, he made it clear to me that I will not have further help from them. I dont want to mention any names here. After this unnecessary wait, I will loose money on this. Ironically, I can have better service on a $100 electronic gadget. I am looking for a place now were i can have good service on the car. I certainly dont trust Honda Cars of Katy.
poor customer service
You must be careful , they promise a lot of things but when You have a problem with the car they try to get your money . When You ask to see the Boss they will get any person who work there kick you around until You give up . They treat You very bad . Don't believe whatever they say. Never recommend anybody come to Honda cars of Katy .
Nightmare from the begining
Stay away from this dealership if you do not want to have a huge disapointment with your new car. I went to buy my new 2015 Odyssey and when I received the Minivan, there was a lot of dirt inside the car. The sales person told me to come back later to clean the dirt because the people who clean the cars were very busy. Second situation, after 800 miles the steering wheel system was broken, I requested a new car but they denied since they told me "You are under contract". I called the sales manager and he had a "great" idea, he told me that the solution could be to sell them my car back and buy a new one, but I was going to pay 100 more dollars for the same model. I was speachless with his lack of criteria and offer with NO sense at all..... I thought he was jocking. After that, I went to the dealership to talk with him about my situation and his no sense proposal, and he told me "I am going to ask you to leave the dealership", and I asked him why? He said, because you have been disrepectful. I told him, just because I told you that your suggestion did not make any sense you are kicking me out? He said, yes...Now about my car, I called Honda US to complain about the situation and the defect , they said that the dealership was independent and that they were sorry about the defect in my new car, but as a compensation for the defect they could send me a 350 usd gift card that could be used at any Honda dealership. Guess what, the gift card did not work at Katy Honda, the person at the front desk told me that the system did not accept the card and that I had to use my personal card to buy an accesory. I called Honda USA and they apologized, that they were going to check the problem with the dealership....,again the problem was not resolved. I received a call from the Service manager and he told me that he was going to refund me the amount once the system accepted Honda gift cards... .it has been a month and not a call from him. Now....about the mechanical problem, they fixed the problem of my "New" 800 miles 2015 Odyssey, but guess what..when I received the car..the pilot seat was all full of dirt. As today, the car has 3000 miles and this morning I have another problem, the car is leaking fluid. When I called the dealership they told me they were sorry but they could not take my car until later next week....It is very clear that this dealership does not have quality controls to verify that the car does not have any defect before they sell them, also a lack of control to keep the cars clean when they are working with them and it is also clear the lack of common sense from the sales manager. I am giving you my experience with this dealership to avoid you very frustrating situations if you are going to buy a new car.
same as everyone
Agreed on a price with salesman Frankie/Frank, whatever, then went to buy the truck, having driven 5 hours, and he was not there. Another salesman, who spoke broken english, worked with me. Had agreed on a price, but it went up after all was said and done, with all the packages they put on it. I got the truck I wanted, but not for the price we had agreed on. Not pleased with my experience, and would not recommend it to anyone else.
Worse experience in purchasing a car!!
Experts at bait and switch and add ons. DO NOT go to this dealership! Would give it -10 stars if it were possible.
