I called and scheduled an appointment to look at a used truck. When I arrived to look at the truck they tried to sell me a completely different truck. I asked where the truck was that I had scheduled a viewing for and they told me it was sold. Later they told me it was at home with the service manager. I spent 2 hours round trip driving to View this truck and was promised it would be ready. Awful customer service!
I brought my GMC Acadia to Randy Marion GMC for an oil change, tire rotation and state inspection. However, I also paid over $400 for the replacement of a high pressure power steering hose. The dealership said that this was a safety issue and my car would not pass inspection unless it was fixed. I was perplexed by this because there was no evidence of any leaks of power steering fluid onto my garage floor or my parking space at work. It would have been great if Randy Marion GMC had provided visual evidence (photo or video) of the leak. Better yet, why not top off my power steering fluid and advise me to check the level over the following week. If there was a noticeable difference then bring it back to the dealership in order to make the "necessary" repairs. Unfortunately, I am left to assume that this was an effort to "upsell" thus it has severely undermined any trust I have for Randy Marion GMC. As a result, I do not intend to use them for any future repairs or services.
Earned a customer for life
Damon Martin and Ron Sheets made the car buying process something to look forward to! Not only was the process quick and hassle-free, I am 100% positive I got the best possible deal for the car that I love. The customer service provided to us is something all other dealerships should strive for! There was no pressure whatsoever and there is something to be said for feeling like the car salesmen were absolutely honest and looking out for our best interest. Randy Marion GMC earned a customer for life, and I can not give a higher recommendation!
Beware of this dealership
i went to the dealership with an ad that they had posted. when i got there they would not sell me the car at the advertised price. If it hadn't happened to me I would have never believed that could happen. I left and filed a complaint with the BBB. Then the sales manager agreed to sell me the car at the advertised price. PLEASE! I went to another dealer and bought a car.
Great truck buying experience!
Both Ron Sheets Jr and Damon Martin made buying my new truck easy and seamless. Best experience I have ever had at a dealership. I am coming from a luxury import brand to a domestic brand and couldn't have been happier. Will buy GMC from now on!
Great buying experience
I purchaseda Buick Enclave from Randy Marion. It was my first Buick and Mr.Kenny Caldwell was my salesman. I was unsure what I wanted to buy, Kenny gave me several options and was very patient. It took me a few weeks to make my final decision. I am extremely happy with my decision and my car buying experience from Kenny!!
A great place to purchase a vehicle.
We have purchased 2 cars from Randy Marion within the last few years and Mr. Kenny Caldwell was our sales person, and a great one at that. When we were ready, we did not know what to buy, we were needing a larger car for our new little ones, and Kenny helped us. When we added more additions to our family, we needed another larger vehicle, and Mr. Caldwell would always take care of us, and make our buying experience a great one. We will purchase more cars in the future, and will contact Kenny at Randy Marion when we are ready.
Great Overall Experience
I purchased a 2015 GMC Yukon from Kenny Caldwell and can not say enough good things. He was helpful in selecting a vehicle in my price range with the options I wanted and stayed with me through the whole financing process; which was also very pleasant. Damon Martin handled my paperwork very quickly and made sure I understood all of my options. After getting my vehicle home I realized I had a few more questions about how to operate some of the features; I called Kenny and he had me come right in and spent all the time I needed answering all my questions. After I got the vehicle home Kenny called a week later to make sure I had no questions. The whole staff made my car buying experience way less stressful and more pleasant that I could've anticipated.
Kenny Caldwell is Wonderful to Work with!!!
We have purchased 3 different vehicles from Kenny Caldwell at Randy Marion Buick GMC in Huntersville, NC and have had a fantastic experience each time. He is a pleasure to work with and truly cares about your vehicle needs and budget. He is not pushy and will assist you through your entire buying experience. We are so grateful to have found Kenny and just want to thank Randy Marion Buick GMC for having such wonderful people in place to take care of their customers. This dealership and Kenny are first class and will always be our first choice for our future automotive needs!
high pressure, zero respect
The moment you step on to the sales floor, the salesman tells you the cars are selling faster than they can keep them in stock (this despite the dealership is full of cars and empty of customers). They say they will not allow the Corvette off the showroom floor, even to test drive, and that a "serious buyer" would not need to test drive one! What? I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Went to another Chevy dealer and couldn't had a more different experience. Easily let my wife and I test drive the car of our choice, (the salesman didn't even go with us), negotiation was typical car dealer style, but at least they listened to our needs, learned of our wants, and lead us to a generally decent car buying experience. I equate Randy Marion to dealerships of the 1970s, where the ashtray smelling salesman think they are the only game in town. Guess what gentlemen, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche are eating your lunch, as are other Chevrolet dealerships.
STAY AWAY!!!!! "TOUCH of CLASS" Buyer beware
Worst car buying experience by far I've ever encountered. I would rate zero if I could. BUYER BEWARE, hidden, bogus charges (Touch of Class). Touch of Class is simple, we sprayed a little fabric guard on your carpet, you now owe us $700, but if you have something spilled on your carpet we will gladly try to get it out if you drive 2 hrs to get here. You are out of $700 sucker!!!!! I would like to say the salesman, Nathan P, was great. Very knowledgeable and no high pressure. The sales management staff, NOT so great. If I could have found an identical truck at a different dealership, I would have gladly spent my money elsewhere. I was told not to go here from a friend but I guess I just had to experience it for myself. Do yourself a favor and listen to what I'm trying to tell you.
Typical Car Dealership
Just once, I wish I could find a dealership where the employees were honest and really cared about the customer. I bought my 2012 Buick Enclave from this dealership and they used the typical pressure techniques and of course once the sale was over they could care less about the customer. When I bought my Enclave, it lacked floor mats. No problem, they said. They were on back order and would get them to me. Literally 6 months of calling them and I never got the floor mats that were supposed to have come with the car. I'd call and their typical response was that the guy who dealt with that sort of thing was out today. I guess the guy hadn't worked there in the 6 months I tried to contact him and waited for him to call me back. I see this as the typical dealership. They are happy to promise you anything and say anything to get you to buy but ignore you completely once the sale is complete. Of course now they want me to return for service. Are they kidding me? I trust them as far as I can throw them. I write this review almost two years after I purchased my Buick. Why? Because now I am looking to purchase another vehicle and there is no way I will purchase it from Randy Marion.
Poor communication and bait-and-switch tactics
I visited the dealership on a Tuesday evening, test drove the 2013 Verano and the 2013 Lacrosse and decided that the Verano was the vehicle I wanted to pursue. Researched their website and saw that they offered the 24mth Experience Buick 10k miles lease for $199/month with $1,259+taxes and fees due at signing. The main finance guy was closing another deal, so I talked to Ron, who proceeded to replace the $1,259 with $1,759 and tried to show me a higher-priced national advertisement. When I pointed out their website, he acted like it was the first time he saw it, and said that he wouldn't let $500 get in the way of a deal. It was late, so he was going to check on other incentives and would call me next day (Wednesday). Wednesday passed, so I called them late Thursday and talked to my sales rep, Zach. Told him that Ron failed to follow up on Wednesday, as promised. I asked Zach to get Ron to call, and Zach hung up to go talk to him. Zach then called me back himself with a quote: they could do $195/month with $1,259 total due at signing (emphasized twice that it would not be just down payment, and they had enough room to cover the taxes and fees). I asked him to apply the $1,000 lease conquest, as I am coming off another vehicle lease, which would lower my out of pocket to $259. He was going to check on that and get back to me. Friday afternoon rolled around, so I called back. Zach was out of the office, so I asked for Ron. He acted all annoyed that I bothered him, and proceeded to increase the needed amount due at signing by $1,000!! When I told him about the bait-and-switch from what Zach quoted me, he said that he wasn't on the phone, so he has no clue what Zach told me. He also offered a half-hearted apology for not calling me when promised or when I followed up, and said that he relies on his salesmen to remind him to follow up with customers. Really? I called Zach on his cell and he promised to have the GM Jeff Leahy call me the same day (still Friday). Did not hear anything until Monday evening (the 7th day after I told them I want to get a lease with them) and found out that Zach was out the whole weekend. Asked for Jeff, who seemed to not know anything about the situation. He listened intently and said that he would look to get the deal rolling again. Next thing I know, the finance manager Damon calls me, and he talks about a 39-month lease instead of the 24-month one, so I have to give all the details from the beginning to a fourth person... He also acted like he doesn't know who puts their offers on the website, so he couldn't speak about it... He went back to his desk to run some numbers, and called me back with the numbers similar to Ron, about $1,000 more out-of-pocket than Zachs quote. He proceeded to tell me how great of a deal that is, so I had to stop him and give him the customer perspective: nobody from their dealership follows up with the customer when promised; they either don't communicate to each other or they pretend to not know what each of them relays to customers; nobody knows who manages the sales offers from the website; and the icing on the cake, the bait-and-switch between sales and finance. My advice on this dealership: run away from it, as fast and as far as you can. They seem to have the old-school sleazy used car sales mentality, and don't seem to value educated new-car customers (harder to upsell). My impression is that they won't give you the time of the day, if you know where the vehicle price needs to be and if you are not a potential customer for gouged financing and insurance products.
Living up to their negative reputation as car salesmen
If there were negative stars, I'd give them to Randy Marion's establishment. The man that helped us, his last time was R, and he lived up to his name. He used the time he should have spent talking to us about the car we were driving to tell us about how he lost his dream job and somehow ended up working there. When we selected which of the two cars we felt we practical for us, he literally put the carfax for that car in the cabinet and proceeded to punch numbers for the car that was not in our budget, and continued to not be in our budget no matter how much crunching he wanted to do. I felt like it wasted my time and that of my family while we could have been looking for the right car for us. He went from telling us it had been on the lot three months and had to go, to telling us he just got an offer in for the car from a whole sale up north. He told us his boss "chewed him out" when he asked him to lower the price. He was full of crap. There is such a thing as honesty and dignity in the workplace, and unfortunately, my experience at Randy Marion's was lacking both. I have had and will continue to have positive experiences elsewhere when it comes to car dealerships. And when that happens, I will most certainly write a positive review.
Do yourself a favor and use another dealership. I bought my truck last January and have had nothing but a headache dealing with them. I love my truck but these people treat their customers like dirt. I don't have time to write everything that has happened, but it has been a nightmare.
Cash Purchase vs Financing
Clearly Randy Marion makes money by fianancing rather than accepting cash for auto purchases. It is the only way to explain why they would turn down $31,000 cash right in front of them last week to buy a new Terrain only to call me the next day with a terrible finance arrangement that increased the price of the car by $3,000. DON'T BUY FROM HERE!!! These guys are [violative content deleted]. My $31,000 cash was good enough for Jeep. I am loving my new SUV.
bought 2012 lacrosse earlier this month. i don't think anyone ever thinks they get enough for their trade in. My salesman,Jim Tebbetts explained the trade in price for my car would be based on the price the dealer could buy the same car at a wholesaler. fair enough. The discount on the car was posted on the internet about a day or so and then i acted. Too late. Had to settle for 3rd choice of colors. Salesman answered all questions and set up computer for me. Total experience could not have been less stress free. i'm totally satisfied.
DON'T GO HERE
This is one of the worst dealerships that I have ever dealt with. The people here treat you like you're a moron and are only after getting your money. The don't give you good deals and they give you nothing in the line of trade in. You are far better off going somewhere else to buy your car. When we first arrived we were bombarded with 5 salesmen. it was a saturday morning, why where there no people buying cars? The one that we got was a [violative content deleted] and treated us so. He insulted the car that we drove up in and tried to keep selling us stuff out of our price range. When the car was purchased he promised that there was an extended warranty and that if the car ever needed servicing that a courtesy vehicle would be provided. He neglected to mention that you have to pay for the rental car and that the warranty had already expired prior to the car even getting on the lot. Overall this was a horrible experience and I will never go to another Randy Marion again. If I could give this place negative stars I would.
