Mazda CX-5 Purchase

by Rswelch64 on 11/28/2018

I purchased My 2018 Mazda Touring CX-5 FWD from Suburban Mazda. the Sales Person, Sonya Y. Harris, is very knowledgeable and helpful. The same can be said for the Finance Service Manager Matthew Moore. I was never pressured. All my options were explained to me thoroughly. I fell in love with the vehicle. This is My second purchase from Suburban. I highly recommend them because of the excellent customer service. I feel like I'm having an experience at this dealership that feels just as exciting as the Apple store or Best Buy. Very welcoming high tech environment with plenty team members to wait on you.

They don’t want you there

by Cristian on 12/10/2018

Took in my 2011 cx9 for the lower control and airbag recalls. Also asked to check and make sure brakes are ok. In my opinion the pedal was longer and softer than usual. Specifically asked to top off the coolant, as it was a little low (been like that for a while). After trying to sell a coolant system test, the advisor stated they top the fluids during the full circle inspection. Later in the day I got a call and was told the tech didn’t think there was anything wrong with the brake, the pedal was fine. Also was told the two tie rod ends would need replaced and alignment done. I asked for a quote and was told $500. I said not thanks, at that amount I’d rather take care of those myself. Later in the day I picked up the car, and had to pay about $70. That was for the brake system and included some materials, shop supplies and chemical disposal. Mind you, they didn’t do anything. I paid without complaining, I did ask them to check the brakes, I guesss I had to pay for it. Although imo the brakes are not operating as well as they should. I drove the car today, fully loaded, and had a really hard time pushing hard on the pedal to stop the car. And, after opening the hood to add windshield fluid, I noticed the coolant level was as low as before. So, I am pretty sure they didn’t even pop the hood open. And last, but not least, the steering wheel Is off-center and car pulling slightly to right. After replacing the lower control arms, part of the recall, they were supposed to do alignment - and they didn’t do it. Instead they tried to sell tie rods and alignment. I was waiting for the Cx5 diesel to come out to buy one. Now, I don’t think I will ever set my foot in this dealer.

So glad I went to Suburban of Farmington Hills!!

by aiuslyte21 on 05/06/2016

I had such a great experience with Diane, Mark, and Charles while working with them to get my new Mazda 3. They were all super friendly and welcoming. From scheduling a test drive to signing the paperwork they were all extremely helpful and straightforward with me every step of the way. No hassling or tricks, just the options and facts laid out in front of me! I was referred to you guys by an acquaintance, and he was definitely right when he said you guys were awesome! I'm loving my car, and I'll be sure to send anyone looking for a new vehicle your way!

Amazing Award Winning Service

by VJMarupudi on 01/10/2016

From the initial phone call to driving off my new leased Mazda CX-5, every single individual was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Once I selected the vehicle I wanted, things moved very fast and smoothly. All personnel handoffs were seamless. I have been nothing but 100% satisfied. My Sales Rep. Diane Richmond is beyond wonderful, she truly cares about her customers. This is my second lease/purchase with this team and I could not be happier on all counts. I would like to thank my lovely family at Suburban Imports of Mazda @ Farmington Hills, MI for giving us one of a kind car buying experience.

Keep Shopping

by rogerrr on 12/25/2010

I sent online inquiries to 5 local dealers. Even though they obviously knew this up front they tried to sell me a demo with over 8K miles on it for a new car price. When I responded with evidence of this from other dealers they told me to basically take a hike. Not sure what they were thinking.

horrible service - horrible place

by mazdagirl27 on 11/11/2010

I always do my homework before buying - so I contacted multiple dealorships, looked up trade in values of my car, found the exact Mazda CX7 I wanted, and thought to give Suburban a chance since I received an email from the dealor offering me my desired trade in price for my Mazda 3. To my surprise they hassled me, lyed to me, and treated me with disrespect even though I had the dealors email as back up. He even tried to talk me out of my credit unions rates even though it was better than their rates?! The sales manager was even worse than the dealer. He flat out told me my car was not worth the asking price and offered me the trade in value of an auction car. They think a female has no clue what a car is worth and/or how to check into the price of a car. I am a female engineer that loves to take care of her cars!!!! Do yourself a favor and never buy or lease from a Surburan (especially from the Farmington Hills). No need to support [violative content deleted] sales managers! At the end of the day, I walked out of that dealorship, drove to another Mazda dealorship (Sesi) in Ypsi, got full asking price of my Mazda 3, got the car I wanted from the car inventory that Saturday!

Watch out or you'll get ripped off

by gal220 on 03/21/2009

My husband and I recently went to this dealership to purchase a new vehicle. Our sales person was Diane, who we enjoyed working with and didn't have any problems with. The problems we had started when we went to take delivery of our new car. (1) We waited over an hour to finalize the paperwork with the finance manager because the customers in front of us caught a $2000 error on their paperwork and had to have it redone. (2) Once we finally got to meet with the finance manager he tried to rush us through all of the paperwork (the "don't bother to read or ask questions, just sign here" routine). He kept telling us that he just wanted to get us (I think himself) out of there. I guess it didn't matter if we "got out of there" happy or not. (3) We insisted on reading through all of the numbers and caught an error that would've cost us an extra $1000 (approx.). The finance manager argued with us, insisting that we were wrong, only to finally realize that he had made an error and would therefore have to reprint all of the papers with the correct numbers. (4) The finance manager must have tried to use every car salesman trick in the book - from offering us "freebies" that weren't really free (either he added the cost on elsewhere or it was something we were already getting) to telling us that "wow, you're the only customers today who didn't purchase the Mazda pre-paid service plan" (which is a complete rip off). If you do choose to purchase a car from this dealership, I would suggest that you document every cost and double check it on the paperwork before signing anything. We noticed that we were only ever shown the total purchase price (which was a combination of the price, destination fee, advertising fee, and any extras added to the car). We had to ask repeatedly for a detailed breakdown of the purchase price, which is how we became aware of the errors and the $160 floor mats/wheel locks they were trying to include (which we turned down). By the way, Mazda's website shows the very same floor mats and wheel locks for an MSRP of $125. It's amazing that no one at the dealership could believe that we didn't want to pay $160 for something that we could buy anywhere else much cheaper.

Terrible

This dealership was completely overpriced. I found out after making the mistake of buying a car from there that I could have saved at least $10 a month had I gone to another Mazda dealer. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Internet Sales Department Lacking

by jumpout79 on 05/21/2008

After a negative experience with the sales person at Troy, I still wanted to consider getting another Mazda vehicle, so I tried the online experience with Suburban Mazda Farmington Hills. All in all, not satisfied at all with the internet side, all they wanted was to get you in the door. I expect to be able to complete a car sale completely over the internet and sign paper at delivery, this was not an option with Suburban Mazda Farmington Hills, or the Suburban Collection from this experience. I completed the email form on Mazdausa.com and was immediately sent form emails from Lisa Soulliere, the internet sales specialist. Within a day I had personal emails and was having my questions answered. However, I was looking for quotes on the Mazda 6 and 3 and would only get one at a time. After repeatedly asking for quotes on the 6 via email I received them in addition to the quote on the 3. The quotes were ranges, and tax was always additional, but this was not noted. I asked if tax was included and then was told no, that's extra. I asked why the range and the answer was it depends on credit. I informed that I currently have a Mazda lease so to contact Mazda credit and find out what the exact payment would be. She then told me to come in for the first time. I was very clear that I wanted a sunroof *factory installed* not aftermarket. Lisa proceeded to tell me that it was an $800 option, which is not true according to Mazda's website, and as I receive S-Plan pricing, this is farther from true. She also said that this would raise the lease payment $40 a month. On a 24 month lease, that's 960, and while I understand there is interest, the last time I looked at the blue book, a power sunroof increased the residual, so I should not be paying for the whole thing. I ended up calling Lisa to discuss options of turning my current lease in early and getting a firm payment quote. At this point she kept telling me I had to get in there and talk to a sales associate. I thought I was talking to a sales associate. She really wanted me to test drive the car. I informed her that I already had a Mazda 6 - I know what the car is like, I am just looking for a new one. She proceeded to keep telling me I needed to come into the dealer, test drive it and there I could work out my exact payment and terms. I told her I wanted an exact payment from the internet sales person and she said she could not provide that, there are too many factors and they prefer to do it face to face. I have wrote a review for Suburban Mazda in Troy, see that for the face to face experience. The end result is that I expect internet sales to provide me with the exact numbers and be able to coordinate everything online. I then only go to the dealer to take delivery. Suburban Mazda of Farmington would not do this. They lost my sale completely, as it went to Honda Bloomfield, where everything is being completed via the internet.

The most horrible service department in the State of MI.

by dmx11523 on 04/13/2008

I had front end work done and the car was returned to me with the wheels set at such severe toe-in that I wasted a set of tires in 1000 miles, I had HORRIBLE control and the ride was horrible. I brought it back 4 times to have them double check the car and alignment. They couldn't figure it out. A drunk at the bar in town who works on cars part time, pointed out what was wrong with my car after 2 minutes in the parking lot at night FOR FREE. The $120.00 an hour service guys couldn't figure it out. Ruined my suspension and then fought me about it when I wanted them to buy me new tires and fix the problem. I actually had to pay to fix it. They wouldn't fix it. I was told "if you don't like it, you can always sue us" I almost was killed 2 times in car accidents from my car losing control in the rain. 360 degree spins across 8 lanes of the freeway because the worthelss techs can't fix a car. Part 2...... Had some warranty work done. They forgot to put my engine cover back on (heard it banging around on the belts awhile after I left, they left 4 different trim pieces off my car (Engine, door, dash and under seat plastic rails, broke two of my license plate bolts. Grease on my steering wheel, I can keep going. They are horrible... Part 3. Car has engine light on. They charge me $120.00 to tell me "your gas cap hadn't been turned 3 clicks". I've caught them twice saying something was fixed or looked at and yet they never touched it. I only had returned my car to them because I had a warranty that I had to use them. Try to complain. The rude manager will just walk away in the middle of you talking. They also treat you like you are some bother. Ask anyone from the F.Hills area. The place is known for it's horrible service department and it's semi higher prices then surrounding dealerships. [violative content deleted] I hope to god I don't need to try and sue them AGAIN. They are by far the worst place I've ever dealt with in all years of shopping, buying cars, homes..anything. They utterly disgust me and I make sure every chance I get everyone and every site knows about it. They are horrible.

Got quotes from few Mazda dealers. Matched and alo beat the price. Service was impeccable. Salesperson Lydia was excellent. She even helped turn my lease with Chrysler at Suburban Chrysler. Definitely a great place for buying your car
