Good experience

I went in knowing exactly which vehicle I wanted, having chosen one from their website. Worked with Travis Hobbs. Travis had that exact vehicle ready for my test drive within 2 minutes of walking in, and had my old car appraised for trade-in value while I was test driving. We talked through the available rebates and I bought the vehicle as planned. I was in and out of there in under 2 hours with the new vehicle registered in my name already. I recommend this dealership.

We had an immediate need for a car and did some research on the car we wanted. Travis Hobbs and the finance team helped us get an ever better car at an even better deal than what we previously had in mind. Great team. They got us in and out in no time.

Incompetent and dishonest

$485.13 oil change. They stripped the oil drain plug and charged me to re-tap it. Then when it started LEAKING OIL, I brought it back. They gave me a crappy, little loaner while they waited for a replacement oil pan, but then charged for the oil pan and the labor to install it. They called it normal wear. Oil drain plugs do not strip unless you over-torque them. They have been doing all my oil changes and scheduled maintenance. Never again. It is bad enough they stripped it, but then they charge me to fix it!

Higher than normal financing, boarder line scam

Higher than normal financing, boarder line scam. Went to a competing dealer and was approved for a 2014 Outlander at 9% with Zero down payment. Thinking the monthly payments were higher than what I could afford I sought out a 2012 Outlander $3,000 less offered at this dealership. After being pre-approved I was asked to put 3 times the down payment amount I offered and was offered a 19% rate. (Double the amount the competitor offered 1 week earlier) I recently read a consumer response that mentioned a similar situation but this consume didn't realize the higher than normal financing till after purchase. Buyers beware. Oh and my credit score is 690+ how is the hell did I get a 19% rate (current market rate is 4%). The response provided the amount the finance company would cover was lower than the sale price. I believe this is what the finance company thought the vehicle is worth. Regardless to all the earlier reviews they are far from accommodating.

they tried to overcharge the part price.

This dealer will triple charge you for the parts. Beware! I know this dealer since it sends me a lot of coupons from time to time. I gave it a try to let them to do 60k maintenance and the recall for my Montero($1350) . Everything is fine except the transmission became noisy. The other shop found that the transmission liquid this dealer put on was something wrong. So I put new synthetic in, everything returned to perfect condition. Two light bulbs on my dashboard burnt out. SO I called them. They told me around $9. I thought the price is for 4 since Mitsubishi online lists the price $3 each and onsale for only $2.12. Then I went there today. To my surprise, they charge $36 ($9 each ) for that tiny bulb!!! Triple the listing price. I just walked away and told them I will never never come back to them. then I bought the same parts from the other shop for only $3 each with very friendly attitude. Don't trust them anymore!

Fantastic Experience

I had previously visited a Ford dealer in the area and had a horrible experience of being threatened to take the vehicle that day or they couldn't help me any further. This was not the case with Schaumburg Mitsubishi. I started looking online a week or so ago at vehicles and had an idea of what I was looking for. Upon arriving at this dealership, my boyfriend and I were greeted by Jason. He was very welcoming and friendly (but not in the fake, sales guy way). Asked what we were looking for, took us to each and every one of the outlanders they had without being overly pushy on any particular one. I had an idea of the one I wanted from looking online but was glad he showed me all that was available, I was on the fence about the lancer and decided the outlander was best for me. We took the vehicle for a test drive and Jason didn't try to over talk or use the radio as a distracter for hearing the vehicle. When we got back, he showed me more features of the vehicle (all of them, not just the ones he thought would benefit me). I appreciated this since at the previous dealer he had only focused on the technology aspect which I could care less about. Jason really listened to what I was looking for. After showing me the features, he then asked what I thought and when I thought of buying, was I thinking a couple weeks, a month, etc. I didn't expect this since most car sales people want to know how they can get you to take the vehicle that day. Basically I told him if the price is right then I'll be taking it tonight so inside we went. The finance guy and Jason were very helpful in finding what worked for us (I know they also need to make profit but it didn't feel like that was the only thing they were after) We got a great rate and got the car payment we were very comfortable in. As the previous review said, they don't really negotiate on used car prices but if you've searched on here as well as KBB you should be in the ballpark of what the vehicle is worth. With Mitsubishi (this dealer at least) they have the blue book value of the car, as well as warranty information, car history report, etc. Good to have and know about. Once with the finance guy, Chris, he told us about doing the extended warranty. We went with it since the price was right and it'd last a very long time with the vehicle we chose. Chris was great in working with the numbers and helping us complete the sale. To sum it up, be prepared to take a few hours to complete the purchase. Mitsubishi made this a great experience and I plan to use them in the future for both service and future car purchases.

Oil Change package (6 for only $96)

I love the oil-change package at the service center at Schaumburg Mitsubishi . They do 6 oil changes for only $96 (you pay upfront to get that package) and each time you go for an oil change, do will do a (decently good - quick) car-wash for free. The con is since it is a service center (and not an oil change place), you will have to take an appointment (and they are pretty busy always). Plus they are not open on Saturdays :( overaall, till now their primary inspection of my car, the oil change (when they repaired my AC, which was covered under the warranty, I got a replacement car/loaner car for a day. That is awsome). Overal.... its been a good experience till now.

Excellent dealership!!

I bought a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant in 2 months back (July 2009) from this dealership. I have to say, although I initially wasn't looking for a Galant (I was in the market for a Honda civic or Acura TSX), I ended up buying this car. The dealership really gave me a great experience. The salesguy (Demetrios) was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and helped me a LOT to choose the right car. He wasn't pushing any car in particular (which I like) and was very honest and upfront (for most part) about pros and cons of different cars. I test drove this car twice and they had no issues for me taking the car our again. The sales manager (Chris) was available all the time to answer my questions (I visited this place thrice before making a decision). They typically don't negotiate a lot of price (of used cars) but the mitsubishi easy-care warranty package I purchased was really good and the dealership gave me a good offer. I turned in my car once already for a minor fix (that was an issue with the fan/ac when I purhcased) and as promised under my warranty package, they gave me a loaner/replacement vehicle for a day!! :) All paperwork was handled very efficiently and smoothly. The dealership is small to they give more attention to individual customers (compared to some of the Honda or Mazda or Totyota dealerships around that I visited). Overall, as of now, I am very happy with the dealership and hope to continue having a good experience. Oh... by the way, they have a 6 oil change package for only $96 in their service department!!
