Gave a price they couldn't honor IN STORE
Was in the market for a 2018 Odyessy and this dealership, while I was sitting face to face with a salesmen who I will not name, offered me a price on a van and then the manager came over and I showed him the price and he told me there is no way they can sell it to me for that. Shady tactics here I would stay away from!
Purchasing a 2018 Honda Odyssey
This is the second car that I have purchased from Planet Honda, and while all the salesmen were helpful with any questions I had, Kenny Jordan was my salesman for both purchases. Kenny listened, was knowledgeable and gave clear answers, expedited the purchase process smoothly and went the extra mile to make sure each detail was met with accuracy and consideration. Dealing with Monet, the manager, was a fair and positive experience. I find Planet Honda to be superior in salesman, managerial issues as well as the service department. I highly recommend this dealership.
Do not waste your money!
I was yelled at and treated with outright disrespect. John Desmet is in the finance department and he lies and tricks people to falsify contracts. They ignored by phone calls and lied when I came in person to get my issues addressed. They added services I specifically refused to my contract. Like most dealerships they prey on those that are less educated in the car business. Contact Illinois Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Do not let them get away with being unprofessional and falsifying documentation.
Went to Planet Honda on Wednesday, September 21, 2017, to purchase a new HRV. They didn't have one in stock but another dealer did. So they went to get it. Four hours later, I received a call the vehicle was in. When my wife and I arrived, we noticed the first problem, no sticker on the window! When I asked about it, Kenny Jordan stated "We will send you one"! When I checked the date when the vehicle was manufactured, it read December, 2016! When we went to do the paperwork, the odometer read 590 miles! We terminated the sale! Who but Planet Honda would sell a vehicle as new, that is 10 months old with 590 miles on it! I think the Federal Trade Commission and the Illinois State's Attorney needs to be involved. They also has the nerve to run our credit, as we took a hard it! My wife and I received alerts on our phones this morning! We called Transition and we were told to get a letter from Planet Honda. So my wife went to Planet Honda and asked for a letter. The Sales Manager, Monet Alhasan, told her no! Now that I look back, I had on a United States (US) Air Force shirt and hat on. In addition, my trade in vehicle has Armed Forces Retired on it. Perhaps this dealership just wants to rip of veterans, especially retired ones. After almost 40 years associated with the military, one letter would have went a long regarding customer service!
Sales Review of Zero Stars
In June of 2017, we purchased a 2010 Honda Pilot with a Honda gold warranty from Planet Honda in Matteson, Illinois. While driving home on the day of this purchase, we experienced a rattling noise coming from the front driver's side tire area of this vehicle. We then immediately notified Planet Honda in Matteson, Illinois of this pre-existing issue. Inspection of the issue indicated that the rattling was due to pre-existing damage on the vehicle's front struts and sway bar links that required immediate repairs. Inspection of the vehicle also indicated leaking on the timing belt tensioner that required immediate repairs. The costs for the required repairs for all of these damaged parts that were not disclosed by Planet Honda in Matteson, Illinois exceeded $1300. Although this matter was brought to the attention of several supervisors of Planet Honda in Matteson, illinois, the General Manager is currently refusing to provide warranty coverage for these damages. The General Manager is refusing to remediate this issue and has not provided assistance for issue resolution. Zero stars for the Sales Rating of Planet Honda in Matteson, Illinois
Roger Neyhart of planet Honda is a first class person to deal with
A honest man a a car dealership is hard to find. Most dealers are stacked with sharks ready to assault the customer. Roger has a different approach. He treats the customer as a friend. Offers information and good purchase advice. Easy to deal with.
Overall a great car buying experience! Great customer service and got the car we wanted for a fair price.
One and Done
I brought my 2016 accord in for it's first service on December 27. In the appointment confirmation that I received, it read "Requested services: tire rotation, oil and filter change, set tire pressures, check lights, battery and 19 point inspection. Estimated total: $29.95. When I arrived, I was informed that the service would cost $79.95, and that the tire rotation alone was $39.95. I consider the appointment confirmation summary to be false advertising. I was provided with a reduced price only because I complained. Furthermore, I was not called when my car repairs were completed AND my air pressure sensors were not recalibrated after the rotation resulting in the sensorsreporting low tire pressure. Luckily, I knew how to reset the calibration. I would not recommend this service department for service
Purchase 2004 Mercedes. Bad Transmission!!!
Purchased a Mercedes 2004 S 500 on January 30th, 2015. Come to find out after taking to another dealer, has a bad transmission. Spoke with sales person Les Levin and he spoke with his manager and was told that there was nothing they could do. Was informed from mechanic that the transmission was bad upon purchase. Please do not deal with these people!! They have two complaints with the BBB that they have not responded to. what does that tell you? I wish I would of checked before dealing with them.
Run ...don't walk from this dealer. Can't believe they still use sale tactics like this. Brought out a sheet with the list price of the car and an assortment of monthly payments. Asked what I wanted to spend a month! Low balled the trade in. Saw three "sales" people before finally leaving. I guess they're not aware of the info that customers have access to.
Wonderful car buying experience!
am not a regular car buyer, I find the process tedious and frustrating. So much so that I keep my cars until they are ready for the junkyard. My most recent car was a minivan I have had for 10 years. I went to Planet Honda last night and had an amazing experience! Jim, Ken and Tracy were all wonderful. Very friendly, not pushy or difficult. Jim was very knowledgable about the car and the options, even helped me set up my cell to the bluetooth before we left with my new Honda Pilot. Ken was great, no hard sell, no pushiness, a very fair price. We concluded our sale with Tracy who was very helpful with our extended warranty request, she knows her job! Overall the best car buying experience I have ever had and I look forward to returning for service.
Do not honor all offered
I was given something different to what I was sold. I bought an original Honda zero deductible 8 yrs 120k miles extended warranty and the contract received later was for aftermarket, 7 yrs, $100 deductible. And during the last portion many documents had to be rewriten because of "typos" all in the favor of the dealer. I wonder what else I was not able to catch. All jokes about used car sales totally apply to buying a new car at Planet Honda. Sorry I bought from them.
Planet Honda does NOT honor their own offer!
We are a previous customer at Planet Honda, purchasing a new 2005 Odyssey from them six year ago with no problems. So when we decided to purchase a new Odyssey, we naturally choose Planet Honda as our dealership expecting to receive the same kind of prior service. Well, let me tell you that things have certainly changed at Planet Honda over the last 6 years... We were told by Salesman Tom Hayden that they would beat ANY other dealership offer by $200 on a 2011 Odyssey Touring. We went online via edmunds.com and received several quotes 'in writing' from other dealers in our area. We then spent time getting pre-approved financing from Honda Financial Services. When we went back to Planet Honda the next day to purchase the van and suddenly were told that they would not give us the deal that they had promised. They said the other dealership offers were unrealistic and they then tried to renegotiate a deal for over a thousand dollars more than we were promised! I am a business owner and my wife is a professional businessperson, and I will tell you that we have never been treated so rudely and dishonestly as we were at Planet Honda. If I treated my customers or accounts like they treated us, I would not have a very successful business, if at all! We do not make a habit of complaining over such things, but this was over the top misrepresentation. Planet Honda should be ashamed of themselves for treating a customer in such a poor and untruthful manner. They are the closest dealer to our house, but we will drive as far as we must, to another Honda dealer to buy our next van, and at this point we are not very sure it will even be a Honda due to the treatment we received at their hands. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable dealership that will not use falsehoods to get you in the door or bait and switch tactics once inside.
Believe the other bad reviews. Not a good place to go for service either.
Employees at service department are rude, and you often have to wait to pick up, drop off and pay for your vehicle. Dealership is dishonest with their charges/pricing. Example #1: they refused to honor a coupon price which they mailed me. Example #2: They once quoted me and my wife 2 different prices within a 15 minute period for routine service. Example #3: they refused to honor manufacturer's warranty for broken part, the quoted me a price of several hundred dollars, which my local mechanic fixed for 15 bucks. I can go on and on, but I think you get the point. I have complained, but no one at that dealership seems to care. They seem to have a high employee turnover (3 different service managers in last 3 years). I have seen them be rude to other customers as well (so I know it's not just me). In fact, my wife actually complained that they seemed to treat her especially bad because she was a woman (they talked down to her when she questioned a bill that was different than the price she was quoted). They used to contact me for phone surveys, until I began to complain about poor service and poor customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this place.
BAIT & SWITCH DEALER BEWARE-- REPORTED TO ATTORNEY GENERAL----STAY AWAY
This dealer is guilty of BAIT & SWITCH tactics. Quote and advertise one price and when you come in they tell you a higher price and will not honor their ads!!! They are [violative content deleted], under investigation by Illinois Attorney General!!!!!! BUYER BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! STAY AWAY
Lacking Customer Service
We bought our CR-V here in August 2008, and we will not make the mistake of ever going back to this dealership. Part of our purchase agreement was that they would fix the front bumper on their "certified car" since someone had obviously backed into it. We were told it would be no problem and would be called when the part was in. It took 6 weeks of us calling to get the car fixed and we are now being charged rental fees. I have called numerous times and have even gone back to the dealer to straighten this out to no avail (it is now October). Their favorite game seems to be pass the customer, which they do both when trying to negotiate and as a customer service strategy. Save your time and aggravation and buy a Honda from a dealer who will treat you decently.
Don't ever buy from this dealership
From my experience, this dealership is everything that is wrong with car sales. They are the stereotypical used car salesman that are willing to do or say anything to close a deal, regardless of whether or not they intend to keep their part of the bargain. It is almost comical how they send closer after closer out to talk to you when you don't like their deal, as if a different person will be able to convince you to take their crappy deal. I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere (anywhere else) when looking for a Honda. If I was Honda, I would be ashamed of this place.
I came to this dealer with the intentions of dealing with the Internet Manager since I had been communicating with him over the Internet. Instead, even after I asked for him, I was given to three Closers who tried to pressure me into their deal. The Sales Manager under-valued my 2 year old trade-in even though I brought in the original sticker of my trade-in because they considered me a "Mooch", and wanted to maximize their profit at the expense of mine. This experience was so egregious and a waste of my time (3 hours to be exact). I didn't go there to play mind games or for my intelligence to be challenged. I came with the intentions to negotiate in good faith with a reputable Honda dealership for a new 2008 CR-V. I followed Emunds'.com advice, I walked away from all of deals being offered by the "Closers" because their numbers did not make sense with Edmunds.com, kkb.com or agreed to mine.
