In addition to the dealer fee of 900 there was also some other kind of service charge / fee of 1900. For what, oil changes? Not even close, Lokey. Tried to haggle out of that 2k but they wouldn't let it go. Oh also they tried to claim that the internet advertised price included a 1000 discount I did not qualify for, when it was actually 750. Every step of the way this place is trying to squeeze you. I want to say that my sales guy was really nice and low-pressure. I would have been happy to buy from him. Aside from that though, Lokey Kia fits negative car dealership stereotypes perfectly. I wouldn't bother if I were you, there's other Kia dealerships around.
We returned our lease car early and was told 3 days prior to returning it that we would owe nothing that it was just a wash. Before we brought it back my husband called to let them know we were on the way and they said we would owe $1000! We really had no choice at this point because we had already purchased another car from another Reputable dealership. When we came in my husband asked to speak to Jermaine's manager and the guy at the desk stood up and said I'm his boss, the lease manager. My husband voiced that he had been lied to and the "boss" was just totally rude, condescending and just a total [non-permissible content removed] to both of us. I will NEVER do business with Lokey Kia, nor will I recommend them to anyone. So shameful that customer support and truthfulness does not mean anything to this dealership. Shame on Lokey Kia. Glad we are not dealing with them anymore! I must say the people at the Kia Financing were very helpful though.

I went to Lokey Kia after relocating from PA. I had an oil change.I was quite satisfied with that. Next time I went was for a recall...They had to remove the center console to do it. When I got it back, the electric adapter for the back seats was not working. I was told to return to have it fixed. While in the service, a young mechanic a.k.a. grunt! (I use the term loosely) came out and told us that my tires appeared to be dry-rotted and that the rear brakes were worn out. (We bought top of the line Michelins at a nearby place when they were brand new, and I knew the brakes were low..but not dangerously) We said we would take care of things ourselves and to just do the repair we brought in in for....... I got the car prepared to go up north for the next few months and drove to MA without a problem. While in MA. ALL of my warnig lights on the dash came on, scaring me immensely! I was on an island where there were no KIA dealers so went to a local mechanic. He notified me that it seemed o.k. to drive, but be CAUTIOUS!. I drove back to PA without a problem....A few days later (while lights still on, I drove on the turnpike and the vehicle started shaking terribly.....I slowed to a safe speed (about 40 mph) and exited a.s.a.p. I took the car to a dealer in PA that evening where they took a few days to find "the problem".....They asked me if I had accessed the back panels.....I said I had changed the rear signals 2 times..........they informed me that the panels they were speaking of were under the wheel wells, above the tires...BOTH sensors had apparently been sabotaged(while at Lokey Kia, I am SURE..........and they just took a couple of weeks to become disengaged on the circuit board! The dealer in PA said someone had to know what to do to have caused this. SO, after having to PAY out of MY pocket for the repair and the inconvenience of being without a vehicle 1,200 miles away from home, I will NEVER return to Lokey KIA in Clearwater, FL ever again!
Market Adjustment-(In their own minds)
The first vehicle I looked at, had an addendum sticker for $4000 over MSRP, then I noticed every vehicle on the lot had the same sticker. I could understand if the dealership had enhanced the vehicle, but purely for greed??? Then to add insult to injury a dealer fee of $800.00. Sorry Lokey, but you have lost my business and my families business.
Went to Lokey as they are affiliated with the Mercedes dealer I have purchased from in the past. Was very interested in the Optima SXL and was ready to discuss pricing. They had marked the MSRP up $3500 due to market adjustment which I thought was crazy. After providing the salesperson with my information and wanting a bottom line price on the car before deciding to move forward on purchasing, I was told that I would have to fill out a credit app before they would provide me any pricing. I quickly got up, thanked the salesperson for wasting almost two hours of my time and walked out. I found another Kia dealer and am now finalizing my deal.
Worst Customer Service Ever
On Apr 3, 2012 my 2004 Kia Optima s engine lost power and was unable to even go 3 MPH and climb over a simple overpass. I was able to manage to get the car to the Tires Plus in Clearwater Mall to have it looked at. After being diagnosed with a failed catalytic converter I was told that they could get one from Tampa by late afternoon and have my car ready by 7PM. I asked them to call Lokey Kia and Lokey told the Tires Plus representative that they could not get one until Friday. So I told Tires Plus to repair the car because I needed the car to transport my children. The next day I called Fidelity Warranty Service to see if maybe the repair was covered under my extended warranty and they told me the catalytic converter is covered under the KIA Federal Emissions warranty and that KIA should reimburse me for the repair. The Fidelity Warranty Service gave me the number to KIA customer relations and I called them the next day. The KIA customer relations told me that it is covered under the warranty but because it was not put on by a KIA dealer there was nothing they could do but talk to the nearest dealer and see what they could do. I went to Lokey service department and basically they said too bad, you should have had the car towed to us. I went to talk to one of the managers and explained the situation and he asked me if I was happy with the car, did I owe any money on the car then the only thing he tried to do was sell me a new car. If this is the best customer service on the East Coast then I would hate to see the worst. I had been taking my car there since I 2008 when I moved to Clearwater but this company will never see another dime from me. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I would like to commend Fidelity Warranty Service for informing me of something that KIA should have taken care of. The KIA parts department should have informed the Tires Plus representative that the catalytic converter may be covered under warranty and give the customer that information.
