Great customer service

I am the proud new owner of a Chevy Bolt! I am so excited about this car. And I couldn't be more satisfied with the treatment I received. Both David O'Hara and Randy Hover, the salesperson and finance director, spent as much time as necessary with me providing information and answering my questions. I walked out with my new car and felt like they took very good care of me.

Doubly bad customer service

I brought my Chevy Bolt to FH Dailey for service under warranty. I was offered a loaner car, which I accepted. On the "rental agreement" (no charge as it was under warranty), it clearly said NO SMOKING (charges apply). I don't smoke, no problem. When the service was completed I was out of town so my housemate returned the vehicle. He was told that there was pet fur in the car, which violated the rental agreement. No one told me pets weren't allowed in the loaner car, and I wouldn't have put my dog in the car if I had known, as I have another car. Unfortunately, my friend said he had no choice but to pay the $160 penalty. This is ridiculous -- first, we never would have had the pet in the car if anyone had told us; second, we would have vacuumed the car had we known it would have been an issue. I called to complain and was bounced to a couple different people. The final person, an assistant manager, said he felt confident that the rental staff would have told me there were no pets allowed. Well, they didn't. He didn't have any evidence that they had said anything, but said he discussed the issue with them. He then "monitored" their actions for a day or two to see if they routinely issued the warning to customers. He said he observed them telling every customer that pets weren't allowed. Well, that doesn't prove anything, other than the fact that: 1) he had just told them this information was required, and 2) the Boss was watching them while they signed out cars. It's not remarkable that the counter "girls" (as he referred to them) were careful to issue all the required warnings. Being my word against theirs, he refused to reverse the $160 charge. What makes this all the more frustrating is that it is the second bad customer service experience I have suffered at FH Dailey. When we bought our Bolt, the salesman goofed and ordered the car in the wrong color, despite our clear instructions. Because we wanted to close the sale before the end of 2016 in order to get the tax credit that year, we had just two choices: Accept the car in the color we didn't want or wait three to four months for a new car with the color we had ordered, and thus delay our tax credit by about 15 months. Totally unacceptable customer service on both occasions, and very little concern expressed by the dealership. I would never buy a car or get service from this business and feel they have engaged in deceptive practices.

Buying a Chevy Volt at F H Dailey Chevrolet

From start to finish, my wife and I really enjoyed our Chevy Volt buying experience at F H Dailey Chevrolet in San Leandro, CA. From exploring their website, on-line chat, follow-up, test drive, to making us a great deal, every person we dealt with there treated us with courtesy, and were attentive to our requests. I made a last minute change regarding the specific car we wanted, when through their website I found the Siren Red Tintcoat Chevy Volt at their sister dealership up in Novato. They took care of the sale at their San Leandro location, and transferred the car and prepped it for delivery there also. I had done my homework regarding this purchase, and they offered us an up front deal right in line with the best deal offered by any competition in the Bay Area, with no haggling back and forth necessary. Finally, Ebony, Randy, and Dennis made us a great deal, answered all of our questions regarding warranty and financing, and Dennis really made delivery of our new Chevy Volt a truly joyful experience. He is a great guy. The bottom line is that these two dealerships worked together to make our dream come true: We got the exact, specific car we wanted, at a price we could afford. My wife and I heartily recommend F H Dailey Chevy to anyone looking for a great deal, and a great and fun team to work with.

Horrible finance experience

Sandy the finance person is lazy and disorganized. Too lazy to download a dmv form which made us come back the following day. Many errors on the forms including incorrect sales tax. Ignored requests for copyou of a form. Salesperson Greg was very good.

Greg at FH Daily replied to my email in a short time. I told him that I received a quote from another dealer. He matched the quote after I told him that I would rather purchase close to home. I told time that I had a budget, he told me what they would sell the car for. We agreed. I was in and out in about 2 hours. I got the 2012 Sonic right off the showroom floor. I would suggest that anyone looking to purchase a car, new or used, go to Edmunds.com. The site helped me VERY MUCH!!
